the story so far.

marley rose wasn’t born into anything great but she made her life great. with just her mom, she did everything she could to be the perfect daughter, someone her mother could point to as her pride and joy. and marely did just that. her grades were great, she was involved in every musical her high school put on and in her free time she volunteered at the local food bank and animal shelter. all of that paid off when marley was offered a full ride and could go get a college degree without her mom worrying about her too much.

in college, marley found that she loved the past and got her ba in archaeology. while most people assumed she did stuff like indiana jones, that wasn’t the case at all. well at least for awhile. a year ago, she was on a diving expediation off the coast of florida looking for a suken spanish vessel when she was introduced to santana lopez, noah puckerman and finn hudson. they were treasure hunters and while marley rolled her eyes at first, she fell in fast love with the thrill and adventure and soon enough, left her position as a research fellow and dove right in. chasing after the legendary el dardo is easily one of the highlights of her life.

the ones who matter.

noah puckerman - even though santana brought her into the fold, puck is the one that has made marley feel the most at home. he’s shown her the ropes and always looks out for her when they are out on an expedition. she isn’t sure why she clicks with him so easier but she does and more than that, marley truly respects puck for who he is.

quinn fabray - having a journalist out here with them is a little weird to marley. of course, quinn really does seem lovely and sincere about wanting to show a side to treasure hunters other than the usual grave robber label they get slapped with. she’s will to give quinn a shot and doesn’t mind having another girl around to talk to about things.

blaine anderson - charm is all marley can think when she looks at blaine. he’s funny too and seems to really be serious about funding their expeditions with his money so she’s more than willing to be extra nice. since she’s still a little bit of a novice treasure hunter, she’s used that to bond with blaine and helps him out of a few tough spots here and there.

the story so far.

sam evans was a good ol’ texas boy to his core. raised with a younger brother and sister and working out in the west texas oil friends alongside his daddy, dreaming of a life outside of this place was a waste of time. he was born in west texas and he was going to die in west texas. until he didn’t have too. a gifted running back, a couple good seasons in the backfield caught the eye of some division ii scouts and before he could argue against it, his daddy was packing his bags and telling him not to look back. and sam promised he wouldn’t and to this day he’s kept that promise.

in college, sam found that he loved being behind a camera and switched to be a film major. of course, after college getting to actually direct stuff was far and few between. through friends of friends, sam finally landed a job directing a tv series for quinn fabray. it’s a pretty sweet gig and now that sweet gig has thrown him head first into the world of treasure hunters. it’s easily the coolest thing in the world to him and if he makes it out alive, well he’s got a lot of material to make a movie.

quinn fabray - getting a job with all sam cared about post college as being a bartender sucked. when the job turned out to be quinn, sam felt a little more than grateful. they clicked instantly and sam was happy to help her develop her screen personality. being in a world they know nothing about really, he’s holding on tight to her. he knows that while the rest of the people are pretty good, quinn is the one that matters the most and he’s actually willing to die for her.

finn hudson - like something out of an action movie, sam was starstruck by finn after seeing him in action. plus finn seems to genuinely like sam as well which makes being friends that much easier. sam knows the longer they stick around on this chase to the city of gold, the more he needs to pick up some skills and finn is the perfect guy to teach him how not to die while chasing gold.

blaine anderson - although sam had never really liked so called rich kids growing up, he really doesn’t mind blaine. he can tell he’s trying really hard to shed his rich guy image and if sam can help humble him by reminding him not everyone is that well off, well he will. plus, blaine’s been talking about opening up a production company or something and sam knows that he’d be the perfect partner in turning this adventure into movie gold.

the story so far.

rachel berry had as normal of a childhood as it could get, minus the two gay dads thing. she was raised in the suburbs of phoenix, arizona and was given almost everything she asked for. her dads supported her through every dream and told her time and time again that she could be anything she wanted. high school wasn’t the worst experience of her life but it was still high school. music was her great love so many found her weird for being so obsessed with broadway and the likes. true to her word, rachel left arizona behind at 18 and headed across country to attend julliard.

however in one short year everything changed. she met noah puckerman and fell in love harder than a girl should fall. soon enough she was dropping out of college to join him and his two best friends on treasure hunts across the world. the love ran out though and soon rachel grew tired and ended her marriage and never looked back. all that treasure hunting gave her a leg up and she landed a job as a private curator for a wealthy client. rachel always knew her paths would cross again with the friends she left behind and sure enough, with everyone chasing after the city of gold, rachel is thrown right back into the fray.

noah puckerman- if there was one boy rachel couldn’t shake, it was puck. when things were good, they were good. only the good times ran out. she still lvoes him and worries all the time he’s gonna get himself killed. with puck and his crew stealing artifacts belonging to her client, she’s a little resentful that he’s dragged her back into this world she was trying so hard to leave behind.

marley rose - some girls remind rachel of herself and marley is no exception. she’s worried for her that she’ll go down a line she can’t come back from, as rachel almost did herself. she’s a good girl and now that they are in this mess together, rachel isn’t opposed to actually trying to be real friends with marley.

blaine anderson- with the new job, rachel has been living the luxury lifestyle and having blaine along to talk about the creature comforts they miss has been a breathe of fresh air. she can tell that in the other world not surrounded by treasure and gunfire, they’d be friends as well. she likes sticking by him whenever she can and he’s reciprocating the feeling.

the story so far.

quinn fabray knew money from the time she was born. the thing was that once quinn reached an age where she understood her family was among the wealthy, she decided she wanted nothing to do with it. sure having a childhood where asking for a pony was met with an actual pony was nice but the older quinn got, the more she hated the real cost. quinn hated her elite private schools and the expectation that she’d go on to marry one of her father’s rich friend’s son and become a socialite as the fabray women had done for years. still, quinn knew what she wanted with her life and so she was patient, playing the good daughter role to make daddy happy.

attending yale, quinn pursued her journalism degree and threw herself into the school paper. her father thought it was a cute hobby and her mother warned her that boys didn’t like girls who were smarter than them. upon graduating, she turned her back on the fabray money and decided to forge her own path. working internships here and there, quinn found she loved investigative journalism but struggled to break into the big leauges. so instead, she found a partner and started a web series investigating historical events and got a show from the history channel. with her trusted cameraman and director sam evans, quinn has managed to get herself embedded with some fortune hunters chasing el dardo and if quinn can break the discovery of the city of gold, she’ll never want for work again.

sam evans - when her series transitioned from the web to television, quinn was paried up with sam and it’s been a gift. he’s patient with her and helped her transition from reporting in print to having a real stage presence so to speak. she’s a little iffy about the group of treasure hunters they’ve teamed up with, and while they’ve got no problems helping her out of tight spots they put her in, sam is really the only one quinn trusts.

rachel berry - the fact that rachel used to be a part of the treasure hunters and left fascinates quinn. she knows the story is in finding the city of gold but she thinks that if she can befriend rachel and get her to open up, there’s an even better story about just who these people are. plus, it’s nice to have someone around who came from a similar life not consumed by hunting fortune. she likes rachel well enough and maybe, if they don’t die, they could be friends after this.

santana lopez - in her experience, quinn has truly never met a woman as badass as santana is. she spent a few months getting to know her over emails and calls and eventually drinks before pitching the idea of santana letting her and her cameraman come along on an expedition. after getting put in a few tough spots, quinn knows santana has her back and is looking out for her. she just can’t figureout if it’s because they are friends or if because santana knows if the show airs there will be plenty of funding for future hunts.

the story so far.

blaine anderson was born with the silver spoon in his mouth and it stayed there for the rest of his life. growing up where anything he wanted was available at the snap of his fingers set him up to be a bit snobbish. the fact that blaine was equally gifted as he was blessed made being around him almost insufferable. anything blaine picked up, he was a star at. from the guitar to piano to even art, he excelled at. not much was expected from blaine as his older brother cooper was set to run their father’s company and all blaine was required to do was not bring embarrassment.

recently, blaine has gotten bored with his lavish life and has decided to take his share of money and start doing something new. be it from watching too many movies or reading too many books, blaine has got the big for some thrill and adventure. seeking out some adventurers, blaine has promised to fund a quest for the city of gold if he gets to tag along. blaine has never really faced the kind of danger he’s in now but his charm, good looks and natural ability to pick things up is enough to get him by in a world he’s trying to prove that he can belong in.

sam evans - between his money and sam’s talent as a cameraman, blaine sees a potential business in the making. on top of that, sam is an outsider like him in this situation and they’ve quickly bonded over how crazy and exciting hunting for treasure can be. for blaine, sam is the most steady part of this new life he’s trying to chase down.

noah puckerman - having money means blaine has never heard no and turned out, puck was the kind of guy who would say hell yes to almost anythinig. offering to fund his expeditions, blaine convinced puck to let him come along on this adventures. blaine likes that puck is willing to take some time and help him learn the tips and tricks of treasure hunting. and he appreciates the fact that puck hasn’t let him get killed yet.

quinn fabray - with similar upbringings, it was pretty easy to click with quinn. blaine actually admires that quinn broke out of the mold and decided to chase something different while he’s been happy to live off the money. the more that blaine gets to know quinn, the more he starts thinking about trading in his wealth and luxury and maybe becoming serious about one of the many things he’s great at. She inspires him in  a way that most haven’t ever before.

the story so far.

santana lopez was always a tough child and thank god for that because at the age of eight, her mother died at the hands of her father. finding family to take in a kid was tough and thanks to no one stepping up, she was dumped in a group home and would stay there until she aged out. it was terrible but santana’s tough as nails and cold manner helped her out of a few sticky spots. things got better when she got two new best friends in the shape of noah puckerman and finn hudson. they were so different but they compliment santana well. best of all, they brought santana out of her crappy situation and into the world of adventure with the idea of legendary treasure waiting to be found. the only way santana would ever want a different childhood was if those two were involved.

at 18, she followed them out to florida and started working the odd jobs with them. however santana found out her handy skill of charm and would often sweet talk more than a few men into giving her money to fund their expeditions. it was beneath her but she would do whatever it took to fund their adventures. since they’ve been at this, santana knows they haven’t made any real money or found anything worthwhile, she figures they are closing in fast on something big since everyone seems to want to kill them nowadays. she’s got a mean tongue and can think fast on her feet which is how the ones santana has chosen as her own are still alive.

the ones who matter.

noah puckerman - stuck in a foster home because her father was a monster, santana hadn’t expected to ever feel normal again. then puckerman came along with his dumb 8 year old smirk and things started feeling alright again. they’ve been through everything together and puck has been her first for it all too. from kids to grown-ups, santana has had puck by her side through it all. even though he’s made some of the dumbest decision, she’s stuck by him this long for a reason.

finn hudson - never one to be the nicest, santana was surprised at how quick she warmed up to finn. her childhood days that were spent daydreaming with him about finding treasure are among her best. as an adult and actually getting to live out that dream is the best thing. there isn’t a lot she wouldn’t do for finn and she knows that he’s always got her back come hell or high water as well.

marley rose - content with her life, santana wasn’t really counting on finding someone as an adult she liked as much as she did with marley. a chance meeting brought marley aboard one of their diving expeditions and santana saw a young protegee she could mold into another key player in their adventurers. there is something about marley that santana just enjoys being around and likes how easy she gets along with the other important people in her life.

the story so far.

noah puckerman was born with no hope for a better life. his mom had never wanted him and his dad wasn’t around for the first seven years of his life. at that age, his mother drove him out to ohio and dumped him with his father. since his dad cared more about the rock star life and drugs, a few short months later puck was left at a group home and abandoned. it was a terrible place but right away, he made friends with a girl named santana lopez who had just as bad a life. a few months later, puck decided to get in between some punks and a new kid named finn and spare him the welcome to hell punches. that sparked a friendship that puck carried through his entire life. finn introduced puck to the tales of treasure and for the first time in his life, he felt passionate about something.

talking that love of treasure hunting through his childhood and teenage years, puck took off at the age of 18 with his best friends and started a life hunting for real treasure. every so often they found a small shipwreck that would net them a couple grand. puck knows the real treasure is out there and he knows they are close to getting it. his biggest fear is that a big score would effectively end the friendship that’s carried him through life. and the fact that everyone seems to be chasing them to the city of gold now. puck’s got a hothead at times and he’s the first to resort to shooting his way out of something but he’d lay his life down for those he calls family.

finn hudson - saving a kid from a beat down really gives a solid foundation for friendship. finn has been his best friend since the age of 8 and without him, puck knows that his life would be shit and he’d probably be just like his folks. instead, he gets to travel the world and sometimes get into fights with merceneries and the like. he hates letting his feelings show but if there is one dude that is actually his whole world, it’s finn.

santana lopez - getting stuck in a foster home pretty much promised to suck. thankfully santana made it suck less for puck. she’s been his first everything and while she had a chance to leave, puck’s so glad she stuck it out. they clash a lot more often than he does with anyone else but he pins that on the fact that nobody on earth knows him better than santana. losing her is the kind of thing that could really break him.

rachel berry - getting married was never the puckfasa’s style, at least until he met rachel berry. he was 19 and dumb and in love for the first time with a girl not santana. she thought his bad boy style was hot and ran away with a trio of treasure hunters. for awhile, things were good but puck wasn’t ready to be married and rachel hated the nomadic lifestyle they lead. they divorced and puck cut all ties. well he did until she came wandering back into her life thanks to his treasure hunting antics. honestly puck doesn’t know how he feels about having his ex-wife running around and getting into danger with him.
