Camping and Hiking Tips
You should always bring extra clothes. If you are able, layer your clothes. Cotton is not something you should wear in the winter months. Cotton can draw heat from your body if it gets wet. If cotton becomes wet, remove it immediately and dry it. Wearing synthetic fleece or wool is preferable. Additional socks are great for warmth. It is a good idea to have a cap or a stocking camp, as heat can escape from our heads. No matter what the weather, make sure to have rain gear in your bag.
When you're hiking, it is vital to drink lots of water. At least 2 liters should be consumed each day. Either carry water in your bag or use water filters or tablets to purify the water you drink. You can easily carry small water filters in your backpack. The water filter is recommended over the tablet due to its weight.
Always have extra food on hand. You might find yourself spending more time outdoors than you planned. Protein bars are great and easy to carry around in your bag. Keep them in your bag for an emergency.
Make sure to bring waterproof matches and some kindling to light your fire. If you don't intend to build a fire, there are lightweight stoves that can be carried in your backpack Inca Jungle Trek.
You should plan your camping or hiking trip carefully. Each meal should be planned. Be prepared for anything. Always have a map and a compass with you. A whistle is a must. A flashlight or camping lantern is a must. But make sure to have extra fuel and batteries. Make sure to include sunscreen in your emergency kit.
When you leave your campsite, it is your responsibility to clean up. Take a bag to dispose of trash. Keep in mind that you must take everything you bring with you. Your campsite must be left clean for future campers.
