rearranging books to write sentences for each other using book titles.
sabotaging each other's physical tbr whenever the other goes for a bathroom break
being the only ones left in the library late at night
characters are about to leave, but it's storming outside so they show each other their favorite books instead.
they want to read the same book at once and neither are willing to back down. eventually, they start reading it together, throwing dirty looks when one flips a page too fast.
messaging each other their favorite quotes as they read.
holding hands throughout an intense study session without saying a word to each other.
person a keeps peeking at person B's perfectly organized notes. person B starts studying the same subject as person A so that person A can "secretly" copy.
naturally reaching for each other's coffee as they blaze through a 5-hour reading session.
person A hides the last copy of person B's favorite book. now person B needs to do person a a favor to get it.
telling each other where they are using the dewey decimal system. they have the library memorized.
sharing snacks under the table, fingers touching, making eye contact when the other makes too much noise.
holding a conversation through written notes.
they randomly get grouped together for a project; when they meet up at the library for the first time, they realize they've been sitting next to each other for hours already.
person A reaching for a book person B also wants and now holding an intence staring battle in between shelves.

Chapter Three - Before the Plan
A/N - Again I am so so sorry for how late this chapter is. Hope you enjoy <3

-
“Soon” ended up being two weeks later. With Anthony and Simon being swamped at work and Benedict being clingier than usual, they had found it hard to co-ordinate schedules. But thankfully, they managed to find a Saturday that worked for all three of them.
Which was why Kate found herself outside Anthony’s apartment, waiting on Simon to join her so that they could go in together. It wasn’t that she was worried about being alone with Anthony. They’d been friends for so long that she didn’t need to worry about awkward silences or a weird tension hanging over them.
Well, that was normally the case anyway. But over the last few months, Kate had noticed Anthony pulling away more.
First, he had stopped turning up to the monthly get togethers that Benedict insisted on having, claiming scheduling issues or meetings he couldn’t get out of. The offer to move the get together fell on deaf ears, the group having to get used to the idea that there would be one less person every month.
And then, he’d stopped texting as much. Kate knew that he was a busy man, that he’d normally stay at the law firm until late at night and arrive early in the morning. But it had always been that way. It hurt at first to have to hear about any of Anthony’s successes from Simon or Benedict, but she had slowly gotten used to it.
However, she knew that if she walked in there alone, there was a very good chance she might do something she’d regret.
Sighing impatiently, she pulled out her phone and opened her messages with Simon.
-
Kate Sharma - Are you here yet?
Kate Sharma - I’m waiting outside Anthony’s door.
Kate Sharma - His neighbour keeps coming out and giving me weird looks.
Simon Bassett - Why don’t you just go in?
Kate Sharma - Haha very funny
Kate Sharma - Seriously are you here yet?
Simon Bassett - Yeah about that…
Kate Sharma - Simon
Kate Sharma - Please tell me you’re at least on your way
Simon Bassett - I’m afraid not
Simon Bassett - Lady Danbury decided to let Harold manage today’s shift and well
Simon Bassett - I have to go and sort it out
Kate Sharma - Why can’t Lady Danbury?
Simon Bassett - Because it’s a Saturday and she has book club on Saturdays
Simon Bassett - Also because she scares me and I don’t want to ask her
Kate Sharma - Fair enough
Kate Sharma - I guess we can just postpone today then
Simon Bassett - Or you and Anthony could sort out a plan
Simon Bassett - It’s not like the plan relies on me or anything
Kate Sharma - Simon the last time Anthony and I came up with a plan we ended up engaged
Kate Sharma - Do you seriously trust us to not screw this one up?
Simon Bassett - Last time you guys had the help of something called tequila
Simon Bassett - Kate, you’re a teacher and Anthony is a lawyer
Simon Bassett - I’m sure you can come up with a semblance of a plan that doesn’t include anyone dying or getting married
Simon Bassett - Shit
Simon Bassett - I have to go
Simon Bassett - I left Harold unattended for five minutes and I just heard a crash
Simon Bassett - Good luck
Kate Sharma - Good luck to you too
-
Kate sighed and pocketed her phone, mentally cursing Harold from the bar as she knocked on Anthony’s door. The door opened quickly, taking her by surprise as she was greeted by Anthony’s face.
“I wasn’t standing by the door or anything,” he hurried to explain. “I was tidying when you knocked and happened to be putting my coat up.”
His panicked expression and hurried explanation caused Kate to chuckle slightly.
“And here I thought you were eager to see me,” she teased as he moved to let her in. She immediately looked around Anthony’s flat, surprised by how- little there was to it. It held all the basic necessities: a sofa, bed, desk, kitchen equipment and she assumed a bathroom; but there was nothing about it that screamed Anthony.
Turning round, she was met with Anthony’s sheepish expression and instantly knew where his head was it.
“I know it’s not much,” he began, “but I’m only really here to sleep and eat. Most of the time I’m either at the office or at Mum’s. I didn’t really feel the need to decorate to be honest.”
“I like it,” she commented, trying to appease him slightly. “It’s nice.”
“Thanks.”
So much for no awkward silences.
“So…” Kate drew out, shoving her hands in her coat pockets. “Should we get started?”
“Don’t you think we should wait for Simon?” Anthony asked, already grabbing his laptop and heading over to the sofa.
“Simon has had a ‘Harold’ issue and can not make it,” Kate explained, taking a seat next to Anthony on the sofa. “I tried to tell him that we should postpone as the last time you and I made a plan together we ended up engaged but he refused. So, here we are I guess.”
“Yeah, here we are…”

Jealous Remus
Ever since the school year had ended, Sirius had camped out at the Potter's house, never leaving the room they had given him. He had not uttered more than two words to anyone since the fight with Remus. In fact, he had gotten so bad that he barely got up for breakfast. Whenever James caught a glimpse of him, all he could see was a hollow shell of his best friend. They had had Lily, Peter, and Marlene over to try and cheer him up, but they had just made it worse.
Sitting on the edge of his bed, Sirius stared at the photo on his bedside cabinet. It had been taken the start of sixth year, just under a year ago. It was of him, and Remus curled up near the fireplace, Remus reading and Sirius sleeping. All he wished was to go back to the moment that had changed everything.
-Earlier that year-
"Come on Pads. You're joking right?" James asked, walking out of Slughorn's classroom with Sirius.
"No. He was passing me notes all the way through." Sirius grimaced. “Some of them were really graphic though." In the potions lesson, he had been paired with one of the slimiest people in Hogwarts, except for Snape. Robert Gradinson was a year older than Sirius and had been trying to get with him since he had seen Sirius in Potions class. It started off with small compliments which Sirius passed as being friendly. Until the day he had started to get handsy. It had gotten to the point where Sirius would receive crude and horrible notes that made him, and anyone who read them, uncomfortable.
"He does realise you are with Remus, right? The sassiest Gryffindor ever?" Sirius nodded, sighing. Suddenly, he was pulled into a broom closet and someone’s lips were on his. He tried to resist them and push them off, but they just forced him up against the shelves. Then there was a bright light and an audible gasp. With Robert being distracted, Sirius managed to push him off, just in time to receive a slap to the face. To his horror, he realised the person who saved him was none other than his boyfriend, and he did not look pleased.
"Remus...I can explain..." Remus stormed away, tears threatening to fall. Sirius chased after him, calling his name. His boyfriend didn't respond until they had reached the common room where people scurried out after seeing Remus' face.
"Please Re, let me explain..."
"Explain what, Sirius? The fact that I found you making out with Robert Gradinson?" Remus yelled, turning around to see Sirius. Being the night before the full moon, he had more anger than he would have.
"I did not make out with him! He's been harassing me in class and forced himself on me." Sirius pleaded.
"Like I'm going to believe that." Remus scoffed. "I never expected you to be the cause of us breaking up. Go live with your brother. I never want to see you again."
---
Sirius laid down on the bed crying softly. He missed Remus so much, even though he was still mad at him. There was a quiet knock on the door, and it opened slowly. Sirius threw his arm over his face and sighed. "James, I am really not in the mood."
"It's not James." He knew that voice, he could tell who it was from a mile away.
"Why are you here Re?" He asked, turning onto his side so his back was facing Remus.
"James told me that you had not been eating or talking. He thought I could help."
"What? By making me feel even worse? That's a great idea."
"Come on Pads." Remus sighed. "I can't talk to you if you won't even look at me." Sirius did not move an inch.
"Fine. I'll move then." Remus slowly made his way to the other end of the bed and sat on it. He sat there in silence, unsure of how to start the conversation.
"I thought you never wanted to see me again."
"I was mad Pads. Can you blame me? I'd just walked in on my boyfriend kissing someone else. What was I meant to do?"
"I don't know maybe hear me out?" Remus dropped his head to the wall. Sirius was right, he should have heard him out before jumping to conclusions.
"I missed you." It was barely audible, but it was there. The three words Sirius least expected to come out of Remus' mouth. He looked up at him and smiled for the first time in months.
"I missed you too."

Chapter 3 - The Realization and the Aftermath
A/N - Hey guys, so sorry for the long wait for this chapter but it's here! Really hope you guys enjoy it!
“Basically…you and Anthony are engaged.”
“You have got to be kidding me.” Anthony gritted out, hands clenched in fists as he stared at Simon. “This can not be legally binding Simon. Especially if Kate and I have no recollection of making the bloody thing.”
“Plus it’s on a napkin- a stained napkin, Simon. No court would accept it as a contract…right?” Kate stated, sending a pleading look to the man. Simon sighed and looked between his two friends, both of them displaying equally anxious expressions.
“I’ll see if there’s anything I can do but- as far as I can tell, this is legally binding. Both myself and Featherington have looked it over.”
"Featherington's seen it?" Anthony went pale, Simon and Kate looking at him concerned. The man dropped his head into his hands and leant against the counter in front of him.
Kate was torn.
On the one hand, she was desperate to comfort her old friend, hating seeing him in distress. But, on the other hand, she needed a moment to process the information she had just been given, to try and figure out a loophole of some sorts.
“Kate? Everything alright in here, love?” Her mother called from the doorway, startling the trio. Right, her birthday. She’d forgotten about that.
“Everything is fine, Mama.” Kate reassured her, plastering what she hoped was a convincing smile on her face. “Anthony here was just explaining how he could make it off work and surprise us all.”
Her mother seemed to take in all of their expressions: Anthony hunched over the counter with his hands now stressfully carding through his hair, Simon’s anxious look as he fiddled with a napkin and Kate’s large smile which didn’t quite reach her eyes.
“Right…” Her mother drew out, eyes flicking back to Kate. “Don’t take too long okay, Kathani? Benedict’s eager to bring out the cake.”
“We’ll be just a moment.” Kate answered, suppressing an eye roll at the mention of her best friend’s love for cake. Once her mother had nodded and left the room, Kate slumped against the counter with a sigh, taking a moment to collect her thoughts.
“Right,” she started, turning around to face the two men, “first things first, no one, and I mean no one, can find out about this. Anthony and I had it hard enough in University with our mothers trying to pair us up. If they hear one word of this, we are doomed.”
“I agree with Kate.” Anthony’s voice was muffled, his face still buried in his hands. When no-one else made an attempt to talk, he lifted his head and ran a hand through his hair, sighing deeply. “The less people who know about our- agreement the better. Especially when it comes to my family.”
A murmur of agreement came from Simon and Kate as they shared a knowing look, well-versed in the knowledge of the ‘Bridgerton Gossip Mill’. Even Hyacinth, the youngest Bridgerton, couldn’t be trusted with a secret of any kind.
“Okay. As for the next thing, all three of us need to meet somewhere to discuss what to do about this. We can’t do it here and now as it’s Kate’s birthday party and it’s suspicious enough as it is with the three of us in here.” Simon whispered, checking the doorway was clear before continuing. “My suggestion is we meet at one of our houses one afternoon this week and come up with a plan.”
“My house is out of the question.” Kate immediately stated, drawing both men’s attention to her. “Do we really want to discuss this with Benedict in the same house? Sophie, I trust. But Ben’s too much of a mama’s boy to keep this a secret.”
“I would offer my place but the bar is quite noisy in the afternoon.” Simon frowned, both him and Kate turning to look at Anthony expectantly. Anthony sighed and stood up straight.
“I suppose we could meet at my place.” He offered reluctantly, avoiding Kate’s gaze. “I’ll text you both the address on the day.”
“Sounds like a plan.” Simon declared, bringing his hands together. “Let’s sort out the rest of the details later. For now,” he turned to grin at Kate, “I believe the birthday girl owes me a dance of some kind.”
“Simon,” Kate laughed, her demeanour changing almost immediately as she took the hand that he had stretched out, “there’s no music playing or other people dancing.”
“Who needs music?” He asked, eyebrow raised as he spun Kate towards the exit, missing the longing look Anthony had sent their way.
“You’re staying for the rest of the party, right Anthony?” Kate asked, pausing in the doorway. They held gazes for a moment, an imperceptible emotion in the man’s eyes before he broke eye contact.
“Um, I’m not, I’m afraid.” He admitted, giving an apologetic smile. “They still need me back at work.”
“Oh,” Kate breathed, her smile dropping slightly, “well, we’ll see you at your place soon then?”
The look in her eyes was hopeful and Anthony was powerless to do anything but nod.
“Soon.”

If the whole world was watching, I'd still dance with you
Drabble request from @jessmcriano for the prompt: "You make me feel all soft and mushy inside." "That's a good thing, right?" "Of course! You melt me love." and slow dancing in the living room.
˚ ✦ . . ˚ . . ✦ ˚ . ★⋆.
Rory sighed contentedly as she finished the last page of her book, stretching her arms above her as she uncurled from her place on the sofa. As she stretched out, she heard a small chuckle come from the armchair as her boyfriend peered at her from the top of his own novel.
“Good ending?” Jess asked her, closing his novel and placing it to the side. Rory nodded in response, watching as Jess stood up, making his way over to the cd player on their side table.
“What are you doing?”
“Oh nothing.” Jess replied, humming slightly as he shuffled through their CDs and placed one in the player. Rory waited patiently for him to find the right track, smiling fondly as the intro to Sam Phillip’s ‘Reflecting Light’ filled the living room. Jess turned to face her, holding out a hand in a mock bow.
“May I have this dance?”
“You may.” She responded, giggling as she took his offered hand and was pulled off the sofa. Winding her arms around his neck, they swayed back and forth slightly, the only noises in the room being the soft chords of the song and the faint shuffling of their feet. Every so often Jess spun Rory around before pulling her back to him, ending up in a closer embrace than before.
Rory smiled at him fondly, pulling him in for a kiss and halting their swaying for a moment. Once she pulled back, Jess looked a her confused- fondly but confused.
"Not that I'm complaining, but what was that for?"
"I never knew that you could be so romantic," she teased, resuming their swaying.
"What can I say? When I'm with you, you make me feel all soft and mushy inside." He responded, spinning Rory out again.
"That's a good thing, right?" She asked, wrapping her arms around his neck once more.
"Of course! You melt me, love." He whispered, just loud enough that she could hear it. The song came to an end as he pulled her in for another kiss before ending the dance with a mock bow.
As Rory headed up the stairs, he called her name causing her to pause on the middle step and turn towards him.
"Tell anyone about this and I'll hide your books for a week."
"Your secrets safe with me."

Okay, I started writing this with AYITL Literati in my head but I feel like it's more S3 Literati (definitely younger Jess and Rory). Hope you enjoyed!

Queerbaiting is a term used for fictional characters, it never has and never will apply to real life people. PEOPLE CANNOT QUEERBAIT YOU WITH THEIR SEXUALITY. If you unironically use 'queerbait' when talking about actual humans, you need to get off the fucking internet and go outside where the real world is cause you're clearly not ok.

You Know They're Engaged, Right? - Chapter One
A/N - Hey guys, this is an updated version of Chapter One as I had to make some edits to the plot. Hope you guys enjoy! Comment a 🌻to be added to the tag list.
Masterlist
Kate Sharma’s classroom was a mess.
She had planned a makeshift art session for her Year 9 students to help them become motivated to learn about The Great Gatsby but it had gotten increasingly out of hand. First, one of her students had squeezed a paint bottle too hard, meaning blue paint had splattered all over the table and onto her carpet. Then, she’d made the mistake of having glitter as an option, resulting in the floor being covered.
She groaned at the sight and started loading art supplies onto the trolley she had borrowed, deciding she couldn’t leave the mess for the cleaners to sort out. A knock sounded on her door as she grabbed the last paint bottle, turning to see the Head of Art glaring at her.
“What are you doing here so late, Miss Sharma?” He questioned, leaning against the door frame. She scowled and checked the clock, noting that it had only been 15 minutes since school had ended.
“If this is your definition of late, Ben, you have some serious explaining to do. And aren’t you meant to be on bus duty anyway?” She quipped, returning the paint bottles to the tray.
“Not today, I got Dorset to take over as I took his shift on Wednesday. And I’ll have you know that I am very good at being on time.”
“Uh-huh. Then who was in my house this morning looking for his ‘lucky pencil’ until quarter-past eight?”
“First of all, it’s our house according to the rent I pay every month, and second of all, it isn’t my lucky pencil…it’s just the best one for me to use. And we were on time, so technically this morning doesn’t count.”
“Ben, I’ve had to wake you up every morning this week…and I’m running out of things to throw at you.”
“In my defence, alarms are way too quiet.” Benedict chuckled, raising his hands in surrender as a polishing cloth flew his way. “And you throwing pillows at me is guaranteed to wake me up.” Grabbing the polishing cloth, he started cleaning the table near him. “You do know that the school hires people to clean the classrooms, right?”
“Yes I know. I just feel really guilty leaving a mess. It’s not their fault my Year Nines got overzealous with the glitter.” Kate grimaced, peering around at the classroom.
“On any other day, I would stay behind and clean with you, but-” Benedict started, eying the clock anxiously.
“Why are you so anxious to leave all of a sudden? It’s not like we have plans.” Benedict’s fidgeting paused at this, a guilty look crossing his face.
“Benedict Bridgerton, what are you hiding from me?”
“Nothing. Nothing at all.” Kate raised an eyebrow in response and turned to face him, crossing her arms in the process.
“Fine. You know how you said you didn’t want to celebrate your birthday this year?”
“Oh no, Ben. What did you do?” Kate groaned.
“I didn’t do anything. I told my mum that you weren’t planning on celebrating and that me, you and Sophie were just going to have a quiet meal in.”
“…And?”
“And…the party’s at 5,” Benedict admitted in defeat, staring at Kate warily. She looked at him for a moment and sighed, dropping the polishing cloth back on to her desk. “Look, I promise I will make it up to you,” he pleaded with her.
“You better.”
Kate Sharma (4.24 pm) - Please tell me you are attending this thing tonight?
Simon Bassett (4.30 pm) - What thing?
Kate Sharma (4.31 pm) - The thing at Violet’s
Kate Sharma (4.31 pm) - For my birthday???
Simon Bassett (4.32 pm) - …How do you know about that??
Kate Sharma (4.32 pm)- I live with Benedict
Simon Bassett (4.33 pm) - Fair enough.
Simon Bassett (4.33 pm) - And yes, I will be attending.
Simon Bassett (4.33 pm) - Won’t you be with Ben anyway?
Kate Sharma (4.34 pm) - Yeah, but he’ll be with Sophie.
Kate Sharma - (4.34 pm) And I’ll be alone.
Kate Sharma (4.34 pm)- At Bridgerton House.
Simon Bassett (4.34 pm)- …
Simon Bassett (4.34 pm) - I thought you liked Bridgerton House?
Kate Sharma (4.35 pm) - I do, but this birthday is just a reminder to my mother that I'm still single.
Kate Sharma (4.35 pm) - Which will lead to a blind date with one of her friends' sons
Kate Sharma (4.35 pm) - And you know how well that went last time
Simon Bassett (4.34 pm)- He wasn't the worst date you've been set up on
Simon Bassett (4.35 pm) - Remember Berbrooke
Kate Sharma (4.36 pm) - Unfortunately
Kate Sharma (4.36 pm) - I've got to go. Sophie's just arrived and I need to steal her away before Ben gets to her.
Kate Sharma (4.36 pm) - See you tonight.
Simon Bassett (4.37 pm) - See you tonight.
Bridgerton House was familiar to Kate, she had spent most of her summers away from University looking after the younger Bridgertons whilst her mother and Mrs Bridgerton mourned their respective husbands. But standing in front of it on her 29th birthday, it loomed over her - its presence bringing back forgotten memories.
Benedict and Sophie entered first, allowing Kate to take a moment before she joined them in the hallway. She let out a breath as she entered, observing that the ‘party’ Violet had thrown for her consisted of her mother and sister, nearly all of the Bridgertons, Penelope Featherington and Simon Bassett.
“Happy Birthday!” They called out, causing Kate to chuckle softly. Mary and Edwina were first to hug Kate with Simon following behind them. He offered her his arm, leading her into the living room.
“Happy birthday,” he whispered as they passed the Bridgerton family. “You look very nice tonight.”
“Why thank you,” she blushed, “I’m glad you made it. I need at least one sane person with me tonight.”
“I couldn’t miss one of my oldest friend’s birthdays, could I? Especially not one as special as this.” He commented slyly, raising his eyebrows at her.
“Simon, I’m turning 29…I’m not sure it’s that special.”
“We shall see,” Her friend smirked, quirking an eyebrow, “speaking of oldest friends, a certain Bridgerton wanted me to pass on his apologies that he couldn’t make it. He did promise that he’d try and pop in if he could. Why he couldn’t tell you this over text alludes me.”
“You know how Anthony is with technology. I just managed to persuade him to download WhatsApp for a group chat. Initiating texts is a long way off.” Kate laughed, taking the seat Simon guided her to, observing the room around her. The furniture in the living room had been pushed into the middle to make a small circle around the coffee table, presents stacked precariously around it. As everyone filtered into the room taking their seats, Kate smiled softly. Whilst she didn’t normally like to celebrate her birthday, she appreciated the thought that went into the celebration, knowing that her friends would have needed to stop Violet from throwing another birthday ball.
Kate got through her presents quickly, her friends and family eager to see her reaction. She received a perfume and recipe book from Mary, jewellery from Edwina, paints from Sophie, books from Eloise, bourbon from Simon and a homemade card and cake from Hyacinth and Gregory. Thanking all of her friends, she placed her presents in a neat pile next to her before hearing a small shuffle from the other room. Benedict entered a few moments later, having disappeared at some point, with a medium cardboard box in his arms.
“Kate,” he began, “this gift is from all of us. We know that it’s something you’ve wanted for a while now and we hope you like it.”
She looked at him confused as he settled the box down in front of her, opening the lid.
Kate was in love.
In front of her was a corgi puppy, a purple collar around its neck.
“Ben, you didn’t.” She breathed, holding out a tentative hand to the small dog.
“His name is Newton- but you can change it- and he’s yours.”
“Ben!” She squealed, carefully picking up the puppy. “This is the best gift ever.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure of that.” A voice sounded from across the room. Everyone turned to see Anthony leaning against the door frame, a small piece of paper in his hand. “Happy Birthday, Kate.”
“Thank you. I thought you couldn’t make it,” Kate queried, standing to greet Anthony with a small hug, Newton still in her arms.
“I managed to get someone to cover for me. Something important came up,” Anthony answered, returning the hug stiffly before taking a small step away. “Speaking of, can I speak to you? In the kitchen?” He asked quietly, aware of his families’ eyes on him. Kate nodded and passed the corgi to Benedict, excusing herself from the living room. Anthony then turned to Simon and jerked his head towards the kitchen, motioning for the other man to follow him.
When the trio were alone in the kitchen, Anthony placed a napkin on the counter in front of him.
“Would someone explain why I found this on my desk this afternoon?” He asked calmly, pushing the napkin across to Kate and Simon. The duo exchanged a confused look before peering at the napkin.
“‘This contract states that…’” Kate trailed off in horror, glancing up at Anthony, “this is a joke, right?” At Anthony’s silence, she turned to face Simon, paling at the grimace on his face. “Simon?!”
“It’s not a joke, Kate,” Simon answered quietly, pulling the napkin closer to him, “I wish it was but I remember this contract. If neither of you get married by Kate’s next birthday, you’ll marry each other. Basically…you and Anthony are engaged.”

Summer Road Trip - Literati
For @jessmcriano (sorry it's short. I'm thinking of doing a chapter per place they visit)
A/N - This is a new literati series about a road trip in the summer between season 4 and season 5. The incident with Rory and Dean never happened (thank god).
“You’re packed. Your stuff is all in boxes. It’s perfect. You’re ready. And I’m ready. I’m ready for this. You can count on me now. I know you couldn’t before but you can now. You can.”
“Until when, Jess?” Rory questioned, spinning to face him. “How do I know you won’t run when things get tricky again? I can’t just- put everything on hold and move away with you! My life is here! My mom, my grandparents, my friends- everything I’ve worked for is here. I can’t just give it all up for someone I barely know.”
“But you do know me, Rory,” Jess pleaded, taking her hand, “I’m the guy that read the Fountainhead three times- even though it made no sense. I’m the guy that brought you food when you were home alone. I’m the guy that hijacked a horse-and-carriage to sit with you at that silly Bracebridge dinner. That’s still me. The only thing that’s changed is that I’m not going to run away this time. I love you, Rory. Just, please, give me a chance. Please come with me.”
“I can’t run away with you, Jess.” Rory started, holding his hand when he tried to drop hers. “But, I can give you another chance.”
“Are you sure you’ve got everything, kid?” Lorelai asked, handing Rory her last box.
“I’m sure.”
“And you have everything planned out? Pit stops? Venues? Hotels?”
“Yes, it’s all been planned.” Rory chucked, closing the boot of her car.
“Hey, it’s my job to worry about my daughter. Especially when said daughter turned up at the inn's test run talking about going on a road trip with a guy who bailed on her several times,” Lorelai stated, leaning against the car.
“Look, I appreciate that I didn't have the best timing but it’s going to be fine, mom. Jess said he’s going to try and I believe him.” Rory replied, hugging Lorelai. “Besides, you need to focus on your love life, rather than mine. Spend time with Luke. Jess and I will pop in to see Liz and TJ when we get to Maine.”
“Where is Jess anyway?” Lorelai asked her daughter, moving to the porch.
“I’m picking him up at Luke’s. We thought it’d be better than him lugging all his stuff over,” She answered, climbing into her car.
“Drive safe.”
–
“Okay, truthfully, how many books did you bring?” Jess asked, climbing into the passenger seat.
“Not that many. You managed to fit your bags in, didn’t you?” Rory defended, taking a quick glance at the luggage on the back seat.
“Bag. And yes it fit quite well.” He leaned over, kissing her on the cheek. “Now, what’s the first stop on that list of yours?”
“New York.”

Hii What is Sophie’s age a d profession in your “you know their engaged” fanfic?
Hi there, thanks for the ask! Sorry for not including this in the post.
Sophie is 26 in Chapter One and works at the preschool with Daphne (it's how she met Benedict and Kate).
I'll add this to the post as well 😊
