august is the miss americana on folklore for me. the first song that became my favorite on the album and still is in my top 3.

the 1 is the PERFECT opening track. my favorite track 1 since state of grace.

there are literally no skips on this album. i knew it would have more folk indie vibes, which im personally not the biggest fan of genre wise, but HOLY SHIT TAYLOR MADE EVERYTHING SO BEAUTIFUL. AND THE FACT SHE CREATES ALL OF THIS IN THREE MONTHS. QUEEN SHIT 👑

people that i went to high school with who hate taylor or never really listen to her music are suddenly listening to folklore. THE POWER TAYLOR SWIFT HAS. SHE DESERVES!!!!!!!! the vast range of genres, and SONGWRITING QUEEN. i love her so much.

i think it’s hard for me to compare folklore to any of her previous albums, because to me this album stands like on its own in the sense of like. this is the album you listen to when it’s dark and youre trying to find comfort in something, when youre trying to like catch your breath after a panic attack, when youre like walking alone in nature. like her past albums have all been very unique but also similar whereas folklore is its own piece of work entirely.

I have a feeling this is going to be the main takeaway for everyone, but this truly feels like the album Taylor Swift was born to write. She’s here.
