the thing about desexualizing typically sexual things is that you can still find then sexy on a personal level, but on a societal level we recognize that they have more to them beyond that. to use breasts as an example, you could still find them personally appealing, but people with breasts wouldn't have to deal with the stigmatization of breasts due to their sexualization. even if you aren't asexual this is incredible important, so please treat it seriously and also don't equate desexualization with "I can't find it hot anymore"
