"He found himself in an old-fashioned parlour with dark oak panelling and a mantelpiece the size of a young triumphal arc. Directly before him a lovely young woman was sitting in a deep window-seat, gazing out at the trees and the high bare hills beyond. He had just time enough to notice that her left hand lacked a little finger, when suddenly she was not there at all - or perhaps it was more accurate to say she changed."
Been some time since I had time to draw, but I have finally returned - albeit one day too late for this piece's intended week. I really love the chapter with the introduction of Starecross, as Segundus continues to be haunted by his visions as well as Childermass.

“When he awoke it was dawn. Or something like dawn. The light was watery, dim and incomparably sad. Vast, grey, gloomy hills rose up all around them and in between the hills there was a wide expanse of black bog. Stephen had never seen a landscape so calculated to reduce the onlooker to utter despair in an instant. “This is one of your kingdoms, I suppose, sir?” he said. “My kingdoms?” exclaimed the gentleman in surprize. “Oh, no! This is Scotland!””

THE BEAUTY OF THE HOUSE IS IMMEASURABLE; ITS KINDNESS INFINITE
part of a comic that i will never finish!!!!! the thing that i loved most about this book was piranesi himself, and his sense of wonder and his deep love for the labyrinthine house he lives in <3

What if Childermass doesn't just tolerate the rain, but does actually enjoy it?

Naomi Novik did not have to give Laurence a cigar-smoking daddy of a woman for a boss/friend/fuckbuddy but Novik did and this is just one of many reasons why I love Temeraire

[ Alt Text : Tweet from Lina Posting. "Have just observed the existence of what I can Only Describe as the Culver's Transmutation Circle. Attached is an image of all of the locations of Culvers Burgers in denver on google maps ]
So of course like any neurotypical person, of which I totally am (sarcasm), i had to go check. Y'all. I do not want the "Culvers Denver Mass Transmutation Circle Event of 2025" to become the way we learn magic is real.
[ Alt Text : two images. The first one is a screenshot from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, showing the mass transmutation circle, that covered the entire nation. The second is the SAME transmutation circle drawn over the map of Denver, rotated slightly, with 7 of the 10 points lining up near perfectly with points on the circle. There are dots on those 7 points, and x's on the 3 spots not filled in]
Anyway, felt this would do numbers on Tumblr.
