Final text choices. I used the bold font for statement comments and bold words, and used the typewriter font for most of the speaking as I felt it suited the tone and people.
I used different sizes for and levels of condensed size to fit the screen and the speed of talking.

As well as using my storyboard I would write notes whenever I came up with ideas. I found by doing this I’d keep coming up with more as I wrote

Images I drew for different sections of my animation. Outlines of drawings I found while researching Dame Whina Cooper. A Whare, a photo of Dame Whina Cooper with her commander of the order of the british empire medal, Panguru statue of Dame Whina Cooper and people from a land march supporting and supported by Dame Whina Cooper

After Effects
In class I was able to learn a lot about after effects starting with the basics. I didn’t find it as intimidating once I’d started as it seemed very similar to an assessment I had done for Materials and Media last year using photoshop timelines. I didn’t collect any or my practices in class but I was able to make mini compositions playing with opacity, positioning, size and also learning masking features which I am hoping to use in my final.

Finding Type
When looking for my type I am trying to find something that suits the tone and topic of the audio I have. I am leaning towards a serif font and have gathered a selection of these. There are also some points in my audio where I think a bold font would suit the tone of voice and subject.

I want to use a black backgroud for my animation with white font. I plan on using a bold text and also incorporating images into my video

Dame Whina Cooper
For my audio I was given a speech by the daughter of Dame Whina Cooper, Hinerangi Cooper-Puru who spoke about her mother.
