Final text choices. I used the bold font for statement comments and bold words, and used the typewriter font for most of the speaking as I felt it suited the tone and people.
I used different sizes for and levels of condensed size to fit the screen and the speed of talking.

As well as using my storyboard I would write notes whenever I came up with ideas. I found by doing this I’d keep coming up with more as I wrote

Images I drew for different sections of my animation. Outlines of drawings I found while researching Dame Whina Cooper. A Whare, a photo of Dame Whina Cooper with her commander of the order of the british empire medal, Panguru statue of Dame Whina Cooper and people from a land march supporting and supported by Dame Whina Cooper

After Effects
In class I was able to learn a lot about after effects starting with the basics. I didn’t find it as intimidating once I’d started as it seemed very similar to an assessment I had done for Materials and Media last year using photoshop timelines. I didn’t collect any or my practices in class but I was able to make mini compositions playing with opacity, positioning, size and also learning masking features which I am hoping to use in my final.

Finding Type
When looking for my type I am trying to find something that suits the tone and topic of the audio I have. I am leaning towards a serif font and have gathered a selection of these. There are also some points in my audio where I think a bold font would suit the tone of voice and subject.

I want to use a black backgroud for my animation with white font. I plan on using a bold text and also incorporating images into my video

Type out : my mother has always been a
Flash to : proud

She cared about her people.

About how a woman : female logo/sign
You have a *wairua of leading your family, lead your people You are the leader of your *whare
:Leader leading people turning into a marae
And that's how she used to talk you know it was more like trying to build up the young woman,
: Woman lifting up other woman
and be proud that you are a woman
: different women or female symbol to heart loop

Dame Whina Cooper
Whina Cooper was renowned for her activism in fighting for Māori land rights. She was born in northern Hokianga on 9 December 1895. By the 1930s, she was a significant leader in northern Hokianga, and set up Māori land development schemes in the region with Apirana Ngata (an MP from 1905-1943).

Dame Whina Cooper
For my audio I was given a speech by the daughter of Dame Whina Cooper, Hinerangi Cooper-Puru who spoke about her mother.
