Day 1
We arrived and met with a group of delegates that flew into our airport, and then we rode the bus to George Mason University where we checked in, went on a campus tour and then got ready for dinner. At dinner I had a wonderful conversation with some of my fellow lime group about the politics behind environmental policies at dinner. After dinner, we listened to Forrest Pritchard, the author of Gaining Ground, speak about his journey to save his family farm by raising grass-fed livestock and selling it at his local farmers market. He talked about how buying local, organic food can help conserve the truth, transparency, and trust behind our food. Then, our lime group met and talked about what our week was going to be like, and did some bonding activities. Overall, it was a great day! I met many friends and I am sure more memorable experiences are soon to follow!

WYSE
The Washington Youth Summit on the Environment (WYSE) is a conference of about 250 high schoolers from around the United States that I am attending from June 26-30 2016. In this blog, I will discuss what we are doing at the Summit and what I have learned from the amazing experience!
