I'm so glad your goals came true! I also have worked with my drafting process, and I have seen some changes and improvements. I have also been making the point about thinking about the audience more. I feel like this aspect has really shaped how I word things.
Content post 1
what are you most proud of with your writing process?
This class has helped me to grow with my writing. One of my goals at the beginning of the semester was to be more confident with my writing. I feel like I have gotten so much better with that. I have worked a lot with my drafting progress. I would lay out my thoughts and then do research and understand the audience. Thinking a lot about the audience and helped me a lot of structure my papers. This has made me feel confident when I am writing. In the end, I feel accomplished that I learned all these new skills.

I entirely agree! I made a similar post, and you hit on all the points. I really is interesting and intriguing to see what goes on behind the posts we view. There is so much more to just gaining popularity and likes. I feel like i definitely knew that, but didn't full realize that until I took this course.

There is definitely a new appreciation for what goes into being a successful content creator.
We just scratched the surface with some of our data collection assignments, but even then, it was wild to see how much goes into tracking what it takes to be successful in an online space.

I am most proud that I was able to take this course. Genuinely, I struggled with time management and especially with the 2 most recent project submissions. I put as much time as I could into them, and it was really hard for me to manage this course between all of my other classes. I'm proud that I was able to still work through the course and learn things, even if two of my assignments faltered in quality. It still taught me important lessons.

I appreciate most learning in this community and class, the aspects on having an impactful post. I have a performance account, which would be my professional account, used to reach out to others and possibly for future education purposes. This has taught me all the things I am missing. How to make my post interesting and professional, and how to keep things fresh. I found that the big projects were what showed me these things by putting it into perspective.

To adjust my writing process, I will be more thorough and spend more time thinking things through. I'm very good at essays and putting down important information, but if I am busy I tend to lack the attention necessary for a successful essay/writing. I need to focus on all aspects and not just the "important" ones. I have to spend more time making sure that I am THOROUGH.

Thursday Check In
I don't know if I have really any academic questions for the course for after I am done. However, just opinion wise, how has web writing shaped yourself and your own writings? For me it has changed how I look at other writings and especially posts on Instagram. For my performance account on Instagram, I think it has changed how I post things and share my things on a social media platform.

This looks great! I mainly focused on the angry posts being more like comments or just thoughts out for the fandom that didn't really include pictures. However, this is perfect and works great! People would definitely do this in legit fandoms. I kept the studio replies professional and not so loose with how they worded things and replied.

This is one of my posts from a fan about the cancellation of the show. The show is about Olivia and Tyler’s relationship. They fall in love however, Olivia finds out Tyler is manipulating her memory with the flowers he gives her. Just as Olivia finds out new information and decides to confront Tyler, the show is cancelled.
I am wondering how others are setting up their posts. I am trying to make it as realistic as I can. Also, how are others adding in the comments from the Movie Studio?

I know what you mean. To me it seems a little crazy how quickly shows will disappear all of a sudden despite audience attraction. What did those shows ever do to deserve it?
Original Content Post 1
share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. help us feel the feels #writ318mu #week14
I remember there was a show back when the channel Freeform was known as ABC Family. It was called The Nine Lives of Chloe King. It was based off of a book, but was picked up for adaptation. It had one season and ten episodes. I remember being so invested in that show. I watched it every night that it aired and season 1 ended on a MASSIVE cliff hanger. It was almost like they knew or marketed it so that it would get a continuation. I waited for weeks for any word about the show but then it all just suddenly went quiet. ABC Family never really said it was canceled or no announcement was made unless you went looking for it. I was so upset but like every other teen drama I watched in that era, I eventually forgot about it but it sometimes comes back into the back of my mind.

I have the same comment. I never really focused on this before starting my class, so focusing on this has really improved my writing and will help with future assignments and other things. You make great points that I also agree with.

Where will you adjust your writing process based on your experience in this class?
I must adjust my writing process to reflect my targeted audience, whether for another course or employment. If I need to present something to leadership in my nursing career, I will adapt my writing to meet their needs. Similarly, if I am writing a paper and my audience is my professor, I will need to use different grammar and context than I would when posting on social media.

There is always something like this just when the show is getting good so I know how devastating this will be for fans. I think this is a good detail to incorporate to get the fans talking.

share a show detail that is upsetting your audience
A detail in my show that is upsetting my audience is a character death. The show that I created is in an apocalyptic world, and one of the characters is going to die. Fans will deem this characters death as unnecessary and bad writing.

Original Post Pt.2
My favorite movie is the Lord of the Rings, and the only aspect of angry fandom that I experienced was about effects, or about branches of the Hobbit movies, so I don't think I could discuss this as much as other shows. My favorite show, I don't really have one, but I will choose Supernatural. It's a very long show with 15 seasons, and the fandom is massive. The size and range of the fandom helped direct me around my audience for this project, and it also showed how anyone can like the same show you do. Interactions among people of this fandom were generally good, but there was always discourse about the best brother/character. People believed that one or the other brother was better than the other, and that was one of the main arguments that took place. This helped me to think about what possible things people might fight over regarding a show.

Original Posts Pt.1
I can't think of many shows that I have seen that weren't cancelled. I know recently I watched Lady Jane, which only had one season and was cancelled or put on hiatus. I found this show very entertaining and great twist on period dramas. I was inspired by this cancellation to make my own show which reflects this show as well, but with a different concept. I thought the plot was good and I was disappointed to see that I wouldn't see the ending of the show. Obviously I felt like I didn't know what to do next and it felt incomplete. Rightfully so I found a new show, but I was still upset for a couple days and rewatched some clips of the show to reminisce.

Thursday Check-in
I have a couple questions to help in my project. How do I effectively use emojis? I want to incorporate this if possible, as I think my audience would use them frequently if not most of the time in their posts. I also know that some professional accounts and organizations also use them in their own posts. In regards to this aspect as well, is there a proper professional way to use emojis? I know these topics were discussed, but what would you recommend?
Apart from this, what is the Dr.P game post asking for this week as I am a little confused?

Dr. P Game

This is my example of something that is well designed. Yes, it is in fact a cow teapot. My reason for choosing this are two main points: it is functional and easy to use, it is cute and neat in how it functions. This teapot works the exact same as any other teapot, but the hot water comes out of the mouth, and the handle is the tail of the cow. It's a cute way to drink tea, and it doesn't limit the functionality of the teapot with this design. I think this represents a great way to drink tea in a fun way.

This is a very interesting plot! I am intrigued by your creativity in creating a show based on something you are interested in. I think this is great cause you clearly understand what audience you are directing this towards. I think this will be great, and your project will be very thorough.
Original Content Week 13 - Post 3
• Explain how you are connecting your audience reaction to your version of Favorite Show
The premise of my version of “Favorite Show” is an animated adaption of a ttrpg actual play. In a similar vein to Critical Role and their Legend of Vox Machina animated series.
Part of the reaction from the audience will be their frustration at the company for changing aspects of the series. How certain aspects such as the nature of world building elements are presented, the morality of the characters and their motivations, and the relationships between the characters.
This will all play into and with the narrative beats being pushed back and how it affected the story’s pacing. How it all played a part in those beats never seeing their conclusion in the show due to the cancellation.

This is entirely true! I think most of us, if not all of us, have been a part of some fandom at some point in time. Not only positive feedback and discussion occurs, but there are also negative comments. There can be hate accounts along with the fandom accounts. There is also commonly disagreement among things that happen in the shows/movies. I find the most interesting is the different preferences of each person. Everyone has a different favorite character, and some can bond over it, while some argue over it. There are so many ways that they express these things, as you have described, through videos, posts, and comments.
W13 Original Content Post 2
Audiences connect with each other on social media over their love for a show in a few ways. First, by making videos of them talking about their favorite parts of a show on platforms like instagram and tiktok. After making those videos, people comment and agree with the person in thr video. Another way is by writing posts about a favorite part of a show on platforms like twitter and tumblr. After writing these posts, people comment/reblog on those posts and agree with the creator that they enjoyed that part of the show. With these two ways of communicating, people are connecting with eachothero ver their love for a show.

Original Content Pt.3
My vision was that the target audience of millennials would come to tumblr to express their love for this show. You can see these interactions over other fandoms such as any show or movie that comes to mind. That also doesn't only go for this social media platform. They would be able to connect well on this platform with each other, not only because they know how to use this platform well, but because of the many ways they can interact. They are able to like posts, share them, re-blog them, leave notes, and they can add hashtags that make similar posts connected.
