I genuinely think Christine would’ve been happier with Erik
Christine is a musical genius as much as Erik is in her own way, her emotions and her soul shine through her art. Erik didn’t fall in love with her simply because she’s a pretty girl with a good voice, if that was all he wanted I’m sure he could’ve found plenty of other sopranos to obsess over, no, he fell in love with Christine because she feels and loves music as deeply as he does, because she is a complex and passionate and sensitive person who is also an outcast though her difference from others is internal. I don’t think a daydreaming girl who could believe in a literal angel speaking to her and needs music like she needs oxygen would be happy as a viscountess where her life would be inherently restricted by money and politics and social games that she just isn’t prepared for and would hate.
I don’t think Raoul is a horrible guy who would physically abuse Christine, Erik would never have allowed Raoul to live let alone leave with Christine if he didn’t believe she would be at the very least safe with him. I think despite some of his rich boy entitled traits that are rather annoying, Raoul is ultimately a decent person who does love Christine, he wouldn’t risk his life for her if he didn’t. I don’t even particularly dislike Raoul or R/C, I think Raoul is an good character when he’s written well and has a place in Christine’s story. She wouldn’t be herself without her childhood friendship and cute first love with Raoul. But there is a large, central part of Christine that Raoul doesn’t understand and that’s why he consistently fails to hear her and understand her motivations throughout the story. Say what you want about Erik but he knows Christine, he wouldn’t have the hold over her he does if he didn’t.
I think Christine’s love for Erik is one that will last many more years than her love for Raoul because her love for Erik is intwined with her love of music and art, and that is the core of her that will never fade. She will always love Raoul, but I don’t think she will always be in love with Raoul in fact I think she would be disillusioned by the life she chose pretty quickly and her puppy love will simmer out. Her love for Erik and his music would not, it is always growing and evolving. I think she would feel stifled and unfulfilled without music. And, yes, she may still be able to sing even if she married Raoul - but her music wouldn’t be the same without Erik who is as much her muse and her passion as she was his. She couldn’t sing before Erik and that’s not just because she lacked lessons, he didn’t just teach her he inspired her voice.
That’s the beautiful thing about E/C. They are in many ways opposites; light and dark, innocent and guilty, hopeful and cynical, but they fulfill paralleled roles in each others’ lives. They are each others’ muse. They were each others’ angel in their darkest, loneliest moment. They inspired great acts of compassion and growth in each other. They both change so much throughout the story; Christine becomes stronger and more mature capable of seeing more nuance and making bold choices, Erik gentles and finds a reason to be kind to humans again - and that’s largely because of each other. E/C isn’t just about Erik being happy and finding love, it’s about Christine being happy and finding love too.

Spoonie worship tip:
Many things that are always present in your house make excellent offerings.
Water, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, flour, incense, spices, herbs, rice, bread, pasta, fruits, vegetables, etc.
Not only are they good and valid offerings, but also many of them are very much historically accurate.

it's not a moral failing if you're fat and it harms your health. your fatness doesn't make your disability or illness your fault. the quality of your health does not make you flawed. it doesn't define who you are.
you are a whole person, and your fatness and health concerns are morally neutral. they're natural.
