I Am Back! (Update)

Hey, everybody! Sorry for how long it’s been since I last posted. I’d chalk it up to me just being busy with school but it’s also because my mind has been jumping around between my other hyper fixations that have sprung up lately. To give you guys an idea of how my attention span has been acting lately (as well as to compensate for the inactivity) I illustrated this meme. In case anyone wonders about it, that’s not Poseidon in the second panel.

Yeah, basically, I’m in two fandoms now: Uglydolls and Arthur Christmas. I’ve also been a bit occupying myself with my own original story. I’m still mainly going to focus this blog on Uglydolls, though. I don’t plan on making a separate one for Arthur Christmas either cause I’m lazy and I don’t really do much with my new interest except watch clips of the movie, look up fanart, read fan fiction for it. The same goes for my original story. Though, that doesn’t mean my posting schedule will return to normal. I think I’ll go with posting once or twice a month. Anyway, that’s all I have for this post cause it’s hella late where I am and I wanna sleep. Again, I’m really sorry for leaving you guys in the dark. I will try to post consistently from now on, so expect the next to be a Valentine’s Day celebration! ❤️

Happy New Years!

This fan fiction takes place a few months before the events of my Uglydolls 2 story, which is in the year 2024.

Poppet had know idea she fell asleep at her desk until she was jolted awake by a buzzing alarm coming from her watch. After groggily rubbing her button eyes open, she checked the notification. It was from Hildegard, The Maker.

“Reminder: New Year’s Fireworks Show at Midnight! Don’t miss it!”

Ah, right. In thirty minutes it would officially be 2024. Once midnight rolled in, the same ten minutes of fireworks would light up the night sky. Poppet had at this point figured out that Hildegard simply used the same exact types of fireworks each year. It would start with blue ones, then yellow, and finish with a pink firework that spelled out “Happy New Year.” A new year full of perpetual routines, training, and pretending.

Honestly, Poppet no longer understood why The Maker bothered to hold any celebrations for certain holidays. Celebrating the graduation of the dolls, sure, but the holidays? Why? It’s not like she was obligated to give them some semblance of a holiday celebration. Hildegard ran the factory, and expected the factory staff (especially the prototypes) to focus on work. And her ideas for celebrating were minimal at best. Short fireworks displays for the Fourth of July and New Years, festive microwave dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas, while other holidays aren’t even mentioned by the robots. Even some of the students become aware of how disappointing that is, and they only stick around the institute for a month. Overall, it always ended up as nothing but a waste of time for everyone.

Well, whatever. Poppet was expected to witness the fireworks show, so she might as well do it. All her students had gone through the portal by now. She would be the only one in the institute to see it, but she had nothing better to do, anyway. So, what would it hurt to get up from her desk and get some fresh air? Did she bother fixing her hair and put on her blazer? No. Nobody would be there to see her in such a state. Maybe the robots, but not from where her viewing spot would be. After doing a bit of stretching, Poppet climbed to the top of her mansion and watched as the show played out like usual.

Happy new years, my friends. Sorry for how minimal this fan fiction was in terms of visuals. I didn’t have much of a vision as to how I wanted the panels to look. I was mainly focused on the text, as you can see. I hope they sufficed nonetheless! Also, fun fact: Poppet is one of those characters who has a permanent smile plastered on her face. Any who, have a great year.🎉

Once Upon a December (Part 1)

Whenever a new prototype was made, Bernard (prototype 1, doll type 11) was always the one put in charge of their orientation and over seeing their training. He was the first to be made after all. He often knew how to train them most efficiently. He also did his best to make sure they had fun with it. Because once it was done, all the prototypes would have to proceed with their normal routines, never to talk to each other ever again. So, why not give the new comers just one good memory? One happy moment for them to hold on to when they needed to forget about… well, everything.

Christmas time means gift time, baby! And I felt like making some fanart dedicated to 0perfectimperfections0 and natalie-the-writer as sort of early Christmas gifts. They put a lot of work and detail into their Uglydolls fan fictions, which is something I really appreciate when it comes to general storytelling. Okay, here they are!

I understand that the Everett family, mainly Greyson and Henry, appear differently in some fan fictions. So, admittedly, I just went with appearances that felt the most fitting to their personalities. I hope, I did them justice enough anyway. Feel free to critique them, though, if I got anything wrong. Factory Staff (Part 3)

Oh god, finally! The main antagonist is done and here to stay! She might not look like much, but I can guarantee you, there’s more to her than meets the eye. I also included some extra information on her cause why not?

Yup, her head alone is that size. Anyway, that’s all for the character sheets for now. Maybe I’ll make some slight changes to them in the future but as of now I’m satisfied! I plan to post more art and maybe sketches centered around my Uglydolls fan fiction, and in my free time, whenever I get the chance, I’ll work on the actual fan fiction. I can’t guarantee it’ll include any visuals, but I’m gonna try! Okay, if you’re interested in all that, feel free to stick around! Alright, byeeee!!

Happy Thanksgiving…

This little Uglydolls fan fiction takes place several years before the events of the movie. Happy late Thanksgiving!

The 27th arrived sooner than Lou would’ve liked, for it marked the beginning of a stressful time of year for him and the other prototypes. Then again, it had been a good while since he actually interacted with any of the other prototypes, so who knows. Maybe they were feeling rather decent this year, unlike him. It’s not that he hated Thanksgiving. In fact, it would’ve been nice to have a small get together with some of other dolls, but rules are rules. He was always meant to focus on work only and tonight was no different, holiday or not.

Still, that didn’t stop the exposition robots from delivering a special, microwave dinner for him to celebrate. It was the same every year. On Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Maker would allow the exposition robots to send microwave dinners to the prototypes that were on theme for the holidays. It wasn’t an ample feast that you see on TV, but it was something. The dinner this year contained the same turkey leg, a group peas, and gravy-covered mash potatoes. Though, it looks like it included a cob of corn to change things up a little. So, there’s that.

After getting his paper work done, Lou heated up his dinner and set it up at the dinner table with a glass of water. He was about to sit down when he thought of something. Something that might lighten the mood a bit. He walked off to his bed room to find a picture frame that was lying face down on his dresser. He raised his hand to pick up the frame until he paused for a moment, contemplating his idea…Relenting to his inner desire for comfort, Lou picked up the frame. He stopped and stared at it for a moment, a stream of melancholic nostalgia hitting him.

After a few minutes, he realized he was just standing around in his bedroom and went back to the dining room. He carefully placed the picture frame on the opposite side of his dinner set up, facing him. He stood next to his seat for a minute, trying to find some semblance of pride or comfort in his makeshift “family��� dinner… He couldn’t. It didn’t make him feel better. In fact, he felt even more lonely and pathetic than he already did that night. Still, dinner was set nonetheless and getting cold. Why not just eat already?

Thanksgiving Comic Delay

Hey ya’ll! I’m terribly sorry for not posting my Uglydolls 2 comic yesterday. I probably would’ve gotten it done before the day was out, but I woke up later than intended. And, of course, I had my family dinner to go to so I could only do so much for the comic. One way or another, though, it will be posted because I refuse to let sleep deprivation stop me!! Anyway, I hope you guys understand and had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving Announcement!!

Heya, everybody! I felt like announcing this before I forget. Either today or tomorrow I’m going to post my first Uglydolls 2: Meet the Maker comic strip on my Tumblr blog. It’s not going to be centered on the main plot, though. It’s primarily going to be Thanksgiving focused. It also won’t be very long or high-quality since I’m making it in a hurry; I just thought of it yesterday and was busy with helping my family with Thanksgiving prep. Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy it when I post it. I know I said I’d focus on posting character art and sheets for my fan fiction, but I really wanted to do something with the holiday spirit that I’m in. Prototypes 14-16

Okay, a few things I should address. I’m sorry it’s only three character sheets for this particular post. I hoped to make at least four for this one but like I said before, I have college stuff to deal with. It’s junk but it’s important junk nonetheless. Also, I realized I got the order of the doll types 13 to 15 wrong. It was supposed to be rabbits (13), ducks (14), and then red birds (15). I know I shouldn’t care too much about that since the creators of Uglydolls didn’t seem to care themselves, with having some consistency errors in the intro sequence that shows the other types of dolls. But I’ve mentioned before that I care about numerical orders, so I felt the need to admit the mistake, anyway. Alright, enough chatter! Prototypes 14, 15, and 16, everyone!
