My favorite part of the museum is the gems and minerals display. It's my favorite part of the gift shop, too!
Long-sleeve sparkle tee is by ResinMelody; jeans from PABADoll. (You can't see her feet, but she's also wearing denim colored high-top sneakers by DollsnShop.)
The Oco geode is from Minas Gerais, Brazil - by way of a museum gift shop. 😁
(Need to get back to working on tiny knits!)

Lounging around in a tee and leggings, just reading through my journal.
(Gray tee shirt and mini journal are from StarrShine Designs on Etsy; leggings from EliteDollWorld on Etsy)

A very Belated Happy Holidays from Ember.
(Blame for both the delay, and the sorry attempt at a new dress, can be blamed on her useless human.)

Ember In Yellow - and one of many pictures of her wearing that first 1/3 scale half circle shawl.
(Ember’s dress is from PABADoll on Etsy.)

A while back, I had a friend with several Ball-Jointed Dolls (BJDs). From the amount they spent on the dolls themselves, getting their faces custom-painted, outfits for them, etc.
I thought “Hey, people at craft shows don’t even want to pay enough to cover what I spent on the yarn, but maybe if I made some smaller-scale knit items, I could put them in my Etsy shop for the BJD devotees!”
I knitted one very small shawl - then lost touch with the owner of the dolls, and honestly wasn’t willing to dive back into their standard level of Drama to ask if I could photograph one of their dolls wearing it. The shawl sat in a box of finished knits for months even before the pandemic lockdown hit us.
Some time in February, I took a look at my bank balance, and thought, “If I could find one second-hand or something, I might be able to afford my own ‘model’ for that stuff...”  I started browsing the offerings on eBay and looked for other secondary markets, but even most of the second-hand dolls were out of the range I was willing to spend unless they were pretty badly damaged. Like, to the point where I probably would have spent just as much for someone to repair it/repaint the face as a newer one would have cost. (I’m at least self-aware enough to realize that if I bought a “fixer-upper” with the intention of learning to do all the repairs myself, it would wait months if not years.)
Then I found an extra brain cell and searched for doll companies with lower prices, and found ResinSoul. They had a model I liked, their “Mi” doll, for a price within my budget. I looked up a YouTube review of the doll and the buyer was very pleased with her. At the end of February - I placed my order, and asked that the company give her basic face-paint. (While I might want to learn how to do that somewhere down the line, my immediate need was for a mostly-photo-ready model doll.)

She arrived a while back now, in perfect condition. The dolls ship with a random eye color, and when I opened up the package I found she had golden eyes.  I had bought her a long auburn wig elsewhere online, and the combination sort of suggested the name Ember to me.
Took me a while to get an outfit together for her, to get photos of that first shawl. XD  (I also have two miniature scarves finished, and waiting for matching hats.)
...and yeah, I know eventually Ill snap and try to make her fancier costumes for when she isn’t showing off tiny knits for me!  But get the shawl listed first.
