So there we have it! After a good four months, Heartbeat finally comes to an end. I have to say I was nervous after the positive reviews Lights of Laverre received; but I can honestly say that it has been a true pleasure uploading these chapters every week. I'm truly blessed to have had such a following for this story. I can only hope now that when I make my next Amour fic that it satisfies expectations! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has read, reviewed and shared; especially the following: Ooobserver, warzonecall, guywithglasses, PurimPopoie, ultimateCCC, ChE clarinetist, Hawkins579 and all of the guest users. I hope I haven't missed any one out, but receiving your feedback each week always put a huge smile on my face. I cannot say for certain when my next story will be posted as I am in the middle of a harsh winter that's so far consisted of applying to university and working through four A-Levels, although I'm hoping I get enough time over the festive period to write something for you all.

Who vacuum cleans around the house? Ash or Serena? I think Serena but Ash is really energeric I could see him rigorously doing it.

I can see Serena being the one who opts to do it as part of her routine, although that won’t stop Ash vigorously hoovering every inch of the house in a flash once every so often to prove a point! Despite that, Serena will still spot bits which he’s missed, but won’t get angry, and will instead be amused at his efforts.

Pokemon XY Anime 2 Year Anniversary!

Today is a momentous occasion! After 92 episodes, 2 films, and a handful of specials, we’ve reached two years since the XY anime began. 

Words cannot describe how special this series has been to me, I still remember my first trip to Japan where the excitement was rife around Tokyo! I picked up my calender from McDonalds, which also came with the series poster, and from the moment I returned to the UK it’s been on my bedroom wall ever since. 

That was just the beginning though, little did we all know what this generation’s anime would become! 

From the beginning it’s been a tale of reunited friends from childhood, joining together with two siblings as they travel the vast towns and cities of the Kalos region. Along the way, they’ve grown as people, and forged unbreakable bonds with each other and their Pokemon. Still journeying right now, still as buoyant and enthusiastic as ever, they’re a family. They complement each others’ flaws, they help each other in times of need, and they remain strong through all adversities that threaten their path. There may be danger ahead in the not so distant future, but these two years have prepared them for it; they’ll continue moving forward.

Four friends, each with their own unique relationships. We have the brotherly bond of Ash and Clemont: 

Ash is the catalyst in Clemont’s coming of age, the flare that kicks his confidence levels up, allowing him to assert himself as an assured, and respected gym leader. Plus, Ash is the fan he needs there cheering when another one of his inventions goes horribly wrong! On the flip side, Clemont is the brains Ash needs when facing complexity. Clemont is the mind, Ash is the body. There is some serious platonic love going on between these two and they probably don’t even realise it! 

Then of course we have the girls! Serena and Bonnie. Big sis and lil sis. 

Always got each others’ backs, and probably already holding more than enough secrets between them. Bonnie adores Serena; and while she may have a blaze inside her than desires to become a Pokemon Trainer one day, she would love it if she could grow into even half the woman Serena has become. 

Then of course we have two sets of relationships which have been criticised over the past two years, but remain credible in how they function. 

Serena and Clemont have developed a high level of respect for each other, and remain infinitely trusting. Serena is appreciative of Clemont’s cool head and thoughtful approach to problems, if a little embarrassed at some of his dire executions. Clemont in turn holds pride in Serena, having seen her grow into a confident young woman, with a clear goal in her mind. He knows she can only grow stronger. After all, as a group they’ve all grown through their flaws in some manner with each other. 

Then we have Ash and Bonnie, which I find one of the cutest to watch, even if we do miss out on their interactions at times.

Bonnie sees the passion radiate from Ash’s eyes at all times. She lives off it, she loves it! Ash is the bad-ass, risk-taking, adrenaline-fuelled brother she’s always wished she could have, and so it’s no wonder that Bonnie has taken a strong admiration to him. Due to Ash’s heightened masculine portrayal around her, there’s less room made for emotional interactions, yet this doesn’t prevent us from seeing Ash at the height of his maturity around Bonnie. You’d think this is atypical of Ash’s character, but around Bonnie, like Serena, he sees an excitable innocence that he feels a responsibility for. Whether he knows how to express it or not, he cares a lot for Bonnie, and probably enjoys showing her the strength of his Pokemon and victories along their travels, too. 

And now of course, we have Ash and Serena. And nope! The Amourshipper in me will not hold back. It simply wouldn’t be fair, as the relationship between these two is credible enough to be considered a full on subplot in itself. In all ways considered, Ash is significantly more than a friend to Serena. In romantic terms, that needs little introduction, as her crush is a feature which has remained since childhood and developed further along the course of these two years. In terms of Serena’s development as a character, Ash is responsible for a fair amount of that. Holding onto his phrases dearly, and using his own passions as inspiration, Serena has learnt to mirror Ash, and now strives and is just as determined in her pursuit towards her own goal. The two have become similar in their elements, as seen in how Serena gets so fired up for her Showcases; although similar to his relationship with Clemont, Serena is the safety valve in Ash going off and being reckless. Well, she tries, as that didn’t exactly stop him jumping into a volcano. 

Serena has learnt so much as a person from being around Ash, and in turn this has only deepened her affections towards him. Her confidence may have grown, yet she still remains deeply secretive to how she approaches such feelings. With Bonnie, Shauna and Miette knowing however, you have to feel sympathy for the pressure she could soon be receiving! From Ash’s perspective, there’s a lot different about Serena that he still remains to fully come to terms with. In a vice-versa role, Serena too acts as inspiration for Ash to kick on and continue in striving towards his goal. There’s more, as again, Ash demonstrates atypical behaviour in his gentlemanly, and unassertive actions towards her. There’s an admiration, a sense of respect which could well develop into affection; and there’s a part of me that thinks in the upcoming series Serena could have a larger role in developing Ash as a person. Serena could well be the person Ash needs in order to move closer into the “thinking man” role, which is something I’m particularly excited to see potentially happen. Should he begin to notice, and think of his own feelings for once, then who knows. There’s so much potential for these two going into XY&Z.  

But that remains as a very basic overview of the characters we’ve followed and loved for the past two years. Of course we’ve had so many more; the rivals, the friends, the foes. We’ve been through countless squabbles with Team Rocket (who themselves have had their fair share of emotional moments), we’ve been through haunted houses, dealt with crooks, experienced painful goodbyes, while also saying our innocent first “hello”s. We’ve had despair from losing, and elation from victory. Ash currently holds six gym badges, soon to be seven, needing only one more to enter the Kalos League while Serena only needs one more Princess Key to enter the Master Class. We’ve seen the rise of the XY family, and now let’s get ready to see their full coming of age. Will these next two years present us with Serena the Kalos Queen and Ash the Kalos Champion? The two won’t stop until they get there. 

Although this wonderful journey has had us all over the emotional spectrum, we still have around another two years of it left. Personally, coming home from badminton tournaments each Thursday for the past two years has made watching the anime part of my lifestyle. Through exams and all kinds of stress, the XY anime has been alongside me and everyone else each step of the way. It’s the first time I’ve gone through a generation and watched every single episode! So XY will always be the most special to me; knowing there’s a new season and so much more coming makes me incredibly happy. 

I’ve talked for bloody ages, but if you get just a glimpse of how special I see the XY series then I’ll be pleased. Long may it continue! I hope to continue writing FanFics and actively engage in the Pokeani community. So for now, let’s turn our attention to the future! The meeting of Ash and Allain! The continuation of the journey! The next step!

Happy 2nd anniversary of the XY Anime! It’s come a long way in these two years and a lot of wonderful and surprising things happened too.

Thank you for giving us a main cast with great characters like Serena, Clemont and Bonnie. Long live the XY Family.

Thank you for creating Strongest Mega Evolution Specials too. It’s been great to see Alain’s progress as well.

And things are going to get even better from this point on, with the new series XY&Z coming very soon. I don’t think we will have another full 2 years of XY and I hope it gets close to another two years.

Lights of Laverre Finale! Chapter 15: Together

It’s time for the group to make their wishes at Laverre City’s summer festival, before packing their bags ahead of their next adventure. They may be about to set foot towards Dendemille Town, but there’s still time for Ash and Serena to reflect on the hectic, and incredible few days they’ve had together, and make one last vow under the lavender lights.

Summer is at its end, and so is this story. I can't believe it's over! It's been a real pleasure to upload this weekly guys. It's been a bit difficult this week with the website suffering a few issues, and I apologise for the late update. In the end you guys are the most important, so I just had to upload it soon! I've been really blessed with all of the support I have received weekly for this story. All of the people who have shared on Tumblr, Twitter, Serebii Forums etc. I'm really grateful. I'm so glad all of you have enjoyed reading this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

I really love Laverre City, and I hope you now love it too.

I particularly want to just give a quick mention to the users Ooobserver, Guywithglasses, PurimPopoie, UltimateCCC, Blaziqueen, TASOfficial, Leontheripper, Hawkins579 and a whole host of guests for their continuous support; it really means a lot, so thank you very much!

As for the what happens after this, I'm on the verge of finishing another multi-chapter story called "Heartbeat". I will be releasing the first chapter next week, although it will be considerably different to the style of this story! It takes place on Route 16 (Melancolie Path) and if you're one for a bit of emotional emphasis in the Hurt/Comfort genre, then I would recommend giving it a read when it comes out; I should point out now that it will be quite dark in some places though! Going to take a slightly different approach as we head into these autumn months! I also have a one shot that should be coming out soon, too.

I hope that after this adventure you'll continue to enjoy these stories and support the ship. It's been great posting for you guys, and I can't wait to start releasing my next story! So for the final time, thank you very much, and see you soon!
