"donate to gaza" "humanitarian aid to gaza" "raise money for gaza" and egypt, gaza's neighbor that has the only border through which aid can get through, cannot currently get aid through to gaza because israel is refusing to let the trucks pass. the gate was supposed to open three hours ago in a deal struck between egypt and the US to let foreign gaza nationals out and humanitarian aid in. now israel is denying it. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement: "There is currently no truce and humanitarian aid in Gaza in exchange for getting foreigners out." and this is after israel bombed the border crossing three times in the past week. this is the reality that's happening right now. the tonnes of aid that countries are donating, the money the EU is promising, all of this is NOT GETTING THROUGH TO GAZA. if egyptians cannot get through to gaza, nobody can!!!!! the only fucking way this happens is through international pressure to hold israel accountable and that is currently not happening!!!

this is genocide. israel is a fascist state with genocidal maniacs in charge, and they want gazans obliterated, they want gaza gone. this is genocide happening right in front of us. and the entire first world has sanctioned it.

at the end of the day in other lands is about choosing people and having them choose you back. whether that is romantically with Luke and Elliot, or platonically with Myra coming back for Elliot in tears waiting to be diamonds, or in a familial way with the harpies making a home for Luke, or Rachel sunborn always making a home for Elliot and Serene. its all about the effort that you put in when you love somebody, and whether or not they will make the decision to give you that effort back. in other lands is about never accepting second best from people that are supposed to go above and beyond for you. in other lands is about defining home and carrying that with you everywhere. Luke took Elliot and said on purpose I am going to care about you on purpose, and in other lands is about Elliot realizing he deserves that. 

Elliot ‘hides’ at the topmost tower because he wants Luke to find him. and in other lands is about Luke finding him. over, and over, and over again.

elliot: luke and i are not friends only he’s one of 2 people in the whole world i love only he’s so strong and kind and pretty and everyone loves him and i’m used to being mean to him so i’m just giving him a taste of reality when i continue to be mean to him and never tell him how i feel but it’s clearly obvious. clearly. he knows i love him so much. that said he hates me and only puts up with me for serene. i am inherently unloveable and it is my burden to bear.

luke: elliot hates me so bad and has since he met me and nothing i ever do will ever be good enough ever ever ever. i constantly try to be his friend and it means nothing to him. also he’s so funny and smart and can date anyone he wants and understands how to talk to people and i’m not like him and if i ever share my insecurities with him he will rip me to shreds for it. that said i am going to continue to love him and be his friend always because i love him and want to be his friend. this is healthy.

serene: what a lovely day in the borderlands with my two dearest friends who are also friends. i love that we are all friends and all know it and have definitely not been miscommunicating for five whole years. i love that my friends have enough manly intuition to know that they are friends.
