Be honest, is race and color really a big deal when cosplaying?

Fuck no! Some of my best cosplay buds can cosplay circles around me, both skill-wise and accuracy-wise, and the fact that the general public disregards them for being the “wrong colour for the character” they do is utter bullshit. 

Acceptance my ass, when you tell a cosplayer one time too many that they’re unfit for a character they portray, you’re the one making matters worse.

I’ve seen a fair share of awesome black Yu-Gi-Oh, brown Lord of The Rings and asian Attack on Titan cosplayers to feel the “elitism” within and outside community is absolute bull.

Cosplay elitism is a shit movement instigated by the very people who waste their time looking for flaws in other people’s work, to make themselves feel better about the shit life they have.

Same goes for body-shaming of any kind.
