Pardo (Michele Pauli), is a founding member of the Milanese dub/electronic outfit Casino Royale, Italyʼs single-handed riposte to the Bristol trip-hop scene. Pardo has collaborated with Howie B, Death in Vegasʼ Tim Holmes and Photek's protegee' Digital, as well as other Brits he encountered over two decades of recording with Casino Royale (or slipping out of the studio for Metalheadz nights at the old Blue Note on Hoxton Square). He now runs the Florence-based electronic label OOH-sounds and curates the experimental festival Hand Signed, which has featured Bill Kouligas, Beatrice Dillon, Philip Jeck, Peder Mannerfelt, Mark Fell, Sam Kidel and Masayoshi Fujita, amongst others.

My new digital release "Policy" out on Lime Lodge.
Ellen Phan uses her musical practice as a tool of personal spiritual navigation, and with Policy she invites us to witness that unique digital mysticism. The piece’s constant lyrical transformations evoke passages through transitional states of being & consciousness. Vocal mutations, splintered particles, & spectral rhythmic thrashing assemble a pristinely textured odyssey. Phan wields the computer with precision, elegance & ferocity.
Originally written in 2015, the edition here was recorded live by Mike Dobler in February 2020.
100% of the profits from this release will be forwarded directly to Tewa Women United in Northern New Mexico.

Lateral Addition aspires to enrich dialogues among contemporary practices in sound — improvisation, computer music, “sound art,” etc. — and other areas of current media and visual art. In order to nurture the growth of these connections, it serves to further elucidate the often esoteric methodologies and thoughts of artists working with sound through original audio material.
Established in 2013, Lateral Addition releases sets of 4 audio and text contributions from an international roster of artists and writers on a bi-yearly schedule.
Remote Viewing is an affiliated project space in Philadelphia dedicated to the presentation of contemporary sound and multi-media work.
Flowing… In My Journey
When creating this sound piece, I wanted to incorporate modalities that have helped me and fascinated me throughout the years.
Time is an illusion. Our Subconscious Minds cannot gauge what time it is or what reality we are living in. The Subconscious mind is operating on past patterns. All you need to do is install new patterns in your supercomputer (your mind) for a new reality.

Recording of a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Timeline Therapy session
Excerpts read from Personality Profile Through Handwriting Analysis by D. John Antony, O.F.M.Cap.

If you can influence your brain to change before you experience
a desired future event, you will create the appropriate neural
circuits that will enable you to behave in alignment with your
intention before it becomes a reality in your life. Through your
own repeated mental rehearsal of a better way to think, act, or be,
you will “install” the neural hardware needed to physiologically
prepare you for the new event...
So can you believe in a future you cannot yet see or experience
with your senses but have thought about enough times in your
mind that your brain is actually changed to look like the experience
has already happened ahead of the physical event in your
external environment? If so, then your brain is no longer a record
of the past, but has become a map to the future. (Dispenza, 2012, p. 52)

My track “Timeline” is on this compilation:
Pulsar.scramble
This incremental compilation features music composed with The New Pulsar Generator (nuPg) program with and without the aid of additional effects and processing. New artists will be added to this over time. The New Pulsar Generator (nuPg) is an interactive program for sound synthesis developed in SuperCollider 3 (SC3) programming language by Marcin Pietruszewski. The nuPg program produces a form of synthesis called pulsar synthesis (PS). The technique of PS operationalises the notion of rhythm with its multitemporal affordances as a system of interconnected patterns evolving on multiple timescales. The technique generates a complex hybrid of sounds across the perceptual time span between infrasonic pulsations and audio frequencies, giving rise to a broad family of musical structures: singular impulses, sequences, continuous tones, time-varying phrases, and beating textures. www.marcinpietruszewski.com/the-new-pulsar-generator

Stanford University Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics presents: Ellen Phan and Nisa Karnsomport live November 14th at CCRMA Stage, The Knoll.
For their performance at CCRMA, Ellen will present sounds that morph into abstractions, dissected and scattered across the psychoacoustic sphere as Nisa will transduce audio into optical patterns and fractures to create an illuminating psychedelic digitalism.
They will also be guest lecturing Audiovisual Performance Music 203 the same day.
