For #nationalpoetrymonth, here's one I wrote about poisoning the carp in Little Washoe Lake, using rotenone, which makes it so they can't get oxygen from water. The carp came up out of the water, looking for air, and froze overnight. It was creepy.

World Poetry Day demands a poem. Context: most of our storms come in from the southwest, over the Sierra. Sometimes they push in as "backdoor" storms.
