In today’s dynamic business environment, both social and non-social enterprises face unique challenges when it comes to generating revenue. While traditional businesses focus primarily on profit maximization, social enterprises must balance financial sustainability with their mission-driven goals. To understand these distinctions better, we sat down with Sarah Jennings, an expert in social enterprise strategy and revenue modeling, to explore how businesses in both sectors approach their revenue generation models.
In a question "In your "tindahan" , what are the way or strategies that you make to keep your costumers to come back to buy goods?" "A business, like our small tindahan, the revenue model is pretty straightforward. We will find supplier that sells cheaper price and sell it to customers, and make money from those sales. My families main goal is to maximize profit—so we can focus on getting as many customers as possible and keeping costs low to increase our margins." she said
Whether it’s a business focused solely on profit or a social enterprise aiming to change the world, having a solid revenue model is key to long-term success. For non-social enterprises, it’s all about maximizing profit, while for social enterprises, the goal is to create both financial stability and positive social impact. As John and Sarah shared, no matter the type of business, understanding your revenue model and planning ahead is essential for sustaining growth and achieving your goals.

Question ask
1. Describe a challenge you faced at school and how you dealt with it.
2. What do you do if you don’t know how to complete a task?
3. Can you give an example of a time you failed?
Challenges of meeting deadlines one of the primary challenges individuals face when dealing with deadlines is time management. Many people struggle to estimate how long tasks will take, leading to a last-minute rush to complete projects. This miscalculation can result in subpar work and increased stress levels. Additionally, unexpected obstacles—such as last-minute changes, unforeseen technical issues, or personal emergencies—can disrupt even the best-laid plans, making it difficult to meet deadlines.
"In my previous role, I faced a tight deadline for a project due to unexpected projects that i need to be done" . A solution to that is creating a detailed schedule that outlines specific milestones can help individuals stay on track. Utilizing digital tools and apps for task management can enhance organization and accountability. Regularly reviewing progress against the timeline enables adjustments to be made if necessary, reducing the risk of last-minute scrambles.
Dealing with deadlines is a common challenge in today’s fast-paced world. While they can provoke stress and anxiety, adopting effective time management strategies, prioritizing tasks, and fostering a supportive environment can significantly improve one’s ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Question I asked:
Are you familiar with the concept of environmentally-friendly or sustainable paver blocks?
How important is durability when choosing paver blocks for your construction projects?
Do you believe using sustainable materials in construction can make a meaningful difference in environmental protection?
What price point would make you feel comfortable purchasing modified paver blocks?
If offered a trial, would you be willing to test modified paver blocks in one of your upcoming projects to see how they hold up?
Insights
Paver blocks are made up of cement, sand, gravel, and water. It is a popular for the construction of parks, recreational areas, driveways, pathways, and patios due to its durability for diverse outdoor paving requirements. These blocks are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs that offer numerous applications that can be arranged in intricate patterns to elevate the visual appeal of outdoor landscapes and areas. Cement is an essential component used in making paver blocks. One of the most common cement materials in the Philippines is portland cement.
Based on the Philippine Statistics Authority (2022) report, there is an increase in the index of concrete and cement products by 12.1% from 6.3%, indicating a growing demand for construction materials. However, the reliance on cement on large-scale construction projects can lead to 1substantial costs that can impact both project budgets and the environment. Cement production emits nearly 900 kg of carbon dioxide emissions in 1000 kg of cement, which can cause various health risks.
This aim to determine the compressive strength of paverblocks using traditional materials such as fine and coarse aggregates, and water with agricultural wastes such as coconut fiber as an admixture and rice husk ash as partial cement replacement. The mixture of these materials can help develop a sustainable construction material that can help mitigate environmental impact.

DESIGN THINKING
Questions ask during the interview:
As a boarder what is your routine everyday?
Are you comfortable with your place right now?
What are the adjustment you’ve done to survive everyday without your parents at your side?
How did you manage to solve this problem?
What are your coping mechanism to fell ok?
As we grow old we need to stand in our own but missing parents is a deep and personal emotion that everyone experiences at some point in their lives. Whether due to distance, work, studies or other circumstances, the absence of a parent can create a void that is hard to fill. This feeling of longing can bring forth a mixture of emotions, from sadness to gratitude, as we reflect on the significant role parents play in our lives. Parents provide love, support, and guidance. They are often the foundation of our lives, offering advice during tough times, celebrating our achievements, and standing by us no matter what. When they are not around, it’s easy to feel lost or incomplete.
“Sometimes I miss my parents specially when I am so down or I have problems and at that times I wish to our lord that I wish they are at my side to protect me and to give the advice's that I need to solve this problems”. He added that “At some point, if I could go back the time I would rather enroll myself that is near in our home that I can go back and fort everyday”. He is slowly adjusting but everyday it is so hard for him not to think and longing for the care and love that his parents gives. he will go to school without breakfast because of the busy schedule that he has and after a long tiring he will be the one to prepare his food. This is one of his problem that he is facing right now and one way of solving this is to innovate something so that he can fell his place a home away from home.
First innovation is an app that has features that all of the family can access it has a remainder to video call with your love one’s and can put all the activity that is done in a day and also a recipes of foods that our parents done.Another innovation that I think is creating a device which if we are calling it will not only display in the screen but it will show a hologram and we can see the whole body of the one that we are calling.
If we want something that is a solution that is out of this world I think a we will be making a robot that has the features of our parents and it has the same intellectual capacity of our parents. A robot that can show care love and also can guide us to do do good.
In essence, missing your parents is a natural part of life. It’s a reminder of how important they are to us, and the love and connection we share with them. It also offers a chance for reflection, growth, and an even deeper understanding of the role they play in shaping our lives.
