Every time they do the trope where a kid is devastated bc his parents are divorcing I thought it was too much, that the kid was overreacting. Things were better this way. But sometimes I realise it does make me sad that my parents are divorced. Like I don’t think they should be together no. I just like the idea of a family where you feel in your place.

You don’t distance yourself from your parents bc you don’t want to seem like the jealous type to their new partner and children.

You just take a step back and grow up by yourself. Because they have new lives and even if they still love you well you’re still part of their old life.

That’s a depressing thought that I luckily don’t have often since I love my siblings more than anything in the world.
