im super confused about the "fae arent real" hot take, you've posted a lot of stuff about them in a way that i thought meant you not only believe they exist but that you had personal experience with them? do you mean theyre "not real" in the sense that theyre like, metaphysical and cant literally kidnap or hunt you down for sport in the physical world? i thought that part was a given? this isnt a bad faith ask im just really confused about the info youre giving rn
The fae aren't real, no.
The first--and only--law of the occult is that something does not need to be real to exist.
The study of the occult is one of looking at paradoxes and understanding both impossibilities at once.

...you know what that’s fair, i read it again and my own adhd was giving me trouble. ok, let me try again more simply; given what i remember you’ve said about fae: seelie don’t understand you, while unseelie do, do the unseelie have the same notions of seelie fae in terms of capturing people for entertainment/a pet, but a clever and extremely lucky individual could manage to talk their way out of that situation? or do they solely hunt and kill you, and any talk or politeness or gift giving is not going to work?
My hot take is that no one has ever actually been literally Wild Hunted or stolen away to fairyland because the fae aren't real. Fairy tales of eldest sisters bravely winning back baby brothers with wit and charm and luck exist because they make interesting stories and because humans don't like to feel like they're not the main characters of everything ever.
Like, if I told any of you that you were ever ACTUALLY at risk of getting stolen away on a full moon to get run down by some Unseelie, or were ever ACTUALLY in genuine danger if you ever stepped into a mushroom circle, or that there was ever an ACTUAL chance that someone you knew had been stolen by the fae and replaced by a very convincing oak log, that'd be ridiculous to such an extent that I'm practically putting you all in danger by allowing you to be convinced of other more actually dangerous beliefs.
