I’m from being told school matters most

I’m from mental health coming last

I’m from being told I’m not good enough

From always being put in the middle 

I’m from not being understood

from being mistreated

I’m from everyone assuming I’m ok

I’m from faking my smile

I’m from hiding in the bathroom when it gets too loud

I’m from always getting blamed

I’m from never being happy with myself

From always thinking I’m the problem

I’m from getting punished for doing what I think is right

I’m from sleepless nights

I’m from standing up for myself

I’m from always getting shut down

I’m from no one ever helping 

That’s where I’m from. That’s my story.
