I haven't seen anyone mention this but I think having Fifteen cry so much is incredibly important. Boys and men are socialized into not crying or hiding when they are crying, so it's actually pretty rare to see a male character cry on tv. And to have him cry in almost every episode is even rarer.
I think it's really good to have a character like The Doctor, who is a kind of superhero, and who kids look up to, acknowledge that scary and sad situations can make a person cry, instead of retreating into the toxic masculinity of pretending he doesn't care.

Spicy-brained friends, I would like to propose an update to the very useful ‘if you hate everyone, eat, if everyone hates you, sleep, and if you hate yourself, shower’ mantra to live by
Have you suddenly become a petty, hateful little gremlin who thinks people should face the firing squad for (checks notes) leaving teabags on the counter, breathing loudly, or daring to exist in the same space as you? Perhaps mundane and reasonable requests like ‘hey, we agreed to hang out now, let’s hang out’ make you want to scream and move to a yurt in the woods.
You. Are. Overstimulated.
People talk a lot about being overstimulated, and the physical/mental effects of it. What I haven’t seen is people talking about what it does emotionally, and it took me an embarassingly long time to link up those nitpicky, resentful emotions with the state of overstimulation/meltdown/shutdown.
These feelings do not mean that you’re a bad person! They probably aren’t how you actually feel about the people around you. They probably do mean that your nervous system is at its absolute limit and any request/demand/stimulus is Too Much and taking you into fight or flight territory.
Go lie down in a dark room for an hour, or find somewhere safe and familiar to stim for a bit. If it’s happening a lot, schedule yourself regular low-stimulation shutdown time
Signed: someone who moved in with their nearest and dearest only to have a massive crisis of faith about Suddenly Hating All of Them. I don’t hate them, it’s just overstimulating living with people. If I can spare anyone else a similar 9 months of suspecting that they may actually be a bit of a shit person, then this post is worth it!

Every fun post on here that encourages people to have hobbies/be creative always gets an avalanche of "Some people are poor Karen" type reactions and respectfully, you're all super annoying. I've never lived above the poverty line and this is a list of hobbies I have that were cheap or entirely free:
Read books: Go to the library, lend a book from a friend
knitting, crochet, embroidery: Get some needles from the bargan store and ask around, people have leftovers from projects they'll happily give you. Thrift stores also often carry leftover fabric and other supplies. And talk about your hobby loud enough and an old lady will show up and gift you their whole collection, because there are way more old ladies with a closet full of wool than there are grandchildren who want to take up the hobby.
Origami/paper crafts: get some scrap paper and scissors, watch a youtube tutorial
walking: put on shoes open door
pilates/yoga/etc: get a mat or just use your carpet, watch a youtube tutorial
Houseplants: look online for people that swap plant cuttings. There are always people giving out stuff for free to get you started. If you're nice enough you'll probably get extra
gardening: You're gonna need some space for this one of course but you can just play around with seeds and cuttings from your grocery vegetables.
aquarium keeping is a bit of an obscure one but I got most of my stuff second hand for cheap or free and now I have a few thousand euro worth of material and plants.
drawing/art: You get very far just playing with bargan store materials. I did my entire art degree with mostly those.
writing: Rotate a cow in your head for free
cooking: again one you can make very expensive, but there are many budget recipes online for free. Look for African or Asian shops to get good rice and cheap spices.
Join a non-profit: Cities will have creative organisations who let you use woodworking machines or screen presses or laser cutters or 3D printers etc etc etc for a small fee. Some libraries also lend out materials.
candle making: You need some molds (cheap), wick, two old cooking pots for au bain marie melting and a ton of scrap candles, ask people to keep them aside for you.
a herbarium, flower pressing: Leaves are free, wildflowers too, ask if you can take from peoples gardens.
puzzles: thrift stores, your grandma probably
Citizen science: look for projects in your area or get the iNaturalist app
And lastly and most importantly: Share! Share your supllies, share your knowledge. Surround yourself with other creative people and before you know it someone will give you a pot of homemade jam and when you want to paint your kabinet someone will have leftover paint in just the right color and you can give them a homemade candle in return and everyone is having fun and building skills and friendships and not a cent is exchanged. We have always lived like this, it's what humans are build to do.
And all of it sure beats sitting behind a computer going "No stranger, I refuse to let myself have a good time."
Anyway I'm logging off bc I'm making some badges for a friend who cooked for me and then I'm going to fix some holes in everyones clothes.

• An Oxford comma walks into a bar, where it spends the evening watching the television, getting drunk, and smoking cigars.
• A dangling participle walks into a bar. Enjoying a cocktail and chatting with the bartender, the evening passes pleasantly.
• A bar was walked into by the passive voice.
• An oxymoron walked into a bar, and the silence was deafening.
• Two quotation marks walk into a “bar.”
• A malapropism walks into a bar, looking for all intensive purposes like a wolf in cheap clothing, muttering epitaphs and casting dispersions on his magnificent other, who takes him for granite.
• Hyperbole totally rips into this insane bar and absolutely destroys everything.
• A question mark walks into a bar?
• A non sequitur walks into a bar. In a strong wind, even turkeys can fly.
• Papyrus and Comic Sans walk into a bar. The bartender says, "Get out -- we don't serve your type."
• A mixed metaphor walks into a bar, seeing the handwriting on the wall but hoping to nip it in the bud.
• A comma splice walks into a bar, it has a drink and then leaves.
• Three intransitive verbs walk into a bar. They sit. They converse. They depart.
• A synonym strolls into a tavern.
• At the end of the day, a cliché walks into a bar -- fresh as a daisy, cute as a button, and sharp as a tack.
• A run-on sentence walks into a bar it starts flirting. With a cute little sentence fragment.
• Falling slowly, softly falling, the chiasmus collapses to the bar floor.
• A figure of speech literally walks into a bar and ends up getting figuratively hammered.
• An allusion walks into a bar, despite the fact that alcohol is its Achilles heel.
• The subjunctive would have walked into a bar, had it only known.
• A misplaced modifier walks into a bar owned by a man with a glass eye named Ralph.
• The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.
• A dyslexic walks into a bra.
• A verb walks into a bar, sees a beautiful noun, and suggests they conjugate. The noun declines.
• A simile walks into a bar, as parched as a desert.
• A gerund and an infinitive walk into a bar, drinking to forget.
• A hyphenated word and a non-hyphenated word walk into a bar and the bartender nearly chokes on the irony

(English below)

The incalculable educational value of being addicted to videogames
Today I can't help but think about those tools that made me "waste so much time." I'm talking about videogames.
Video games have great educational and learning potential. The "Discovery Tour" of the Assassins Creed franchise is a great example of this.

(Capture of the Discovery Tour ACOrigins: Serapeum of Alexandria, by Hayden Dingman for NZPcWorld)
Instead of focusing on the game itself, the "Discovery Tour" focuses on the educational aspect of the game, allowing users to explore and learn about the history and culture of different places and periods of humanity. The player can take a virtual tour, with the possibility of interacting with historical characters, learning about events and customs of the time, and obtaining detailed information about the scenarios and objects presented. Besides, you can also learn curious facts about how the game was created!
Since childhood, I always thought that the franchise had incalculable educational value. Now that I have tried the world of teaching, I can't help but think of the countless possibilities.
This tool can be used in the classroom to teach students about different topics in a more interactive and engaging way. The use of video games and virtual reality tools can increase student motivation and engagement, which can lead to better understanding and retention of learning material.
As for other areas of teaching, there are many possibilities for the use of interactive tools like the "Discovery Tour". For example, biology, geography, social sciences, literature, and many other subjects can be explored and learned through games and interactive tools.

(Capture of the Discovery Tour ACOrigins: Design of the map of Alexandria, by Hayden Dingman for NZPcWorld)
Now, I would love to take a step further. The revolution that artificial intelligence tools are bringing - not only to classrooms but to the entire world - makes the change even more drastic. Imagine the "beginning of a beautiful friendship" between machine learning, interactive environments, and a powerful GUI that lets you walk through every detail. What's next?
I always think of that strange "metaverse" that Zuckerberg's company promoted. Regarding the possibility of using tools like the "Discovery Tour" instead of the "metaverse", it is important to note that these are different concepts. The "metaverse" refers to a virtual space in which people can interact and perform activities similar to those they do in the real world. On the other hand, the "Discovery Tour" focuses on education and learning.

(Capture of the Discovery Tour ACOrigins: Lighthouse of Alexandria, by Hayden Dingman for NZPcWorld)
However, it could be an interesting idea if we could find the middle ground. In my opinion, the idea of the metaverse is curious, but it lacks the graphic quality that tools like the aforementioned Discovery Tour have. Now, what if that virtual universe gained in power and interactivity? How about a class with Pythagoras in real time?
(Gif of Joey, from the Friends series, with the expression "wow")
In summary, video game and virtual reality tools like the "Discovery Tour" have great educational potential and can be used to teach a wide range of topics in a more interactive and engaging way. With the advancement of technology, it is possible that in the future we will see the development of even more advanced interactive environments for teaching and learning.
Now it's your turn. What do you thing?
