Does Irene sleep with many women just like James Bond or...? 👀
'adaptations always turn irene adler into a love interest and it sucks' moriarty the patriot doesn't turn irene adler into a love interest. moriarty the patriot turns irene adler into james bond

Fun fact about me I originally misread the bit in Scandal in Bohemia where it said Holmes referred to Irene’s photo as him SPEAKING to the photo so in my mind this was the dynamic

Genuine question:
Who the fuck decided that Irene was Holmes's love interest??? Where did that fucking come from??? She got married and then was never mentioned again!!!!
Also...HOLMES'S FUCKING "AVERSION TO WOMEN"????? ARE WE JUST GOING TO IGNORE EVERY INSTANCE WATSON MENTIONS THAT??????
I hate popular media, can you tell?

I still can’t believe that in the literal first paragraph of A Scandal in Bohemia they make it very clear that Sherlock Holmes doesn’t feel anything close to love or anything romantic towards Irene Adler, and adaptations STILL manage to fuck it up.
And I can’t believe a big part of the story is that Irene Adler got MARRIED to someone whom she loved and adaptations STILL manage to fuck that up.

Women in Sherlock Holmes: women are surprisingly smart and resilient, and have very diverse personalities and goals. Also they are emotional and weak and must be protected by big strong men with no sense of self preservation. Can you tell the author has sisters.
Women in Dracula: women are pure, noble creatures who are delicate and sensitive. They are smart and helpful, and devoted to their husbands and friends. Still weak.
Women in The Picture Of Dorian Gray: women are not as disgusting as Lord Henry says. But they are still dumb and shallow and will be mocked for daring to have a personality. As opposed to men, who are smart and beautiful with their rosy lips. The author is totally not gay.
Women in Jekyll And Hyde: women? What are those?

Book: "Conan Doyle was a vigurous and ardent lover..."
Me: "He was?" 👀
Book: "...of life."
Me: "oh." 😶

God, the way ACD would HATE being called “chiefly the creator of the immortal Sherlock Holmes”

I wonder if James Bond is to Ian Fleming what SH to ACD 🤔
He's definitely Daniel Craig's Han, though.
Sherlock Holmes is to Arthur Conan Doyle what Han Solo is to Harrison Ford
