Courage!
Over‌ ‌the‌ ‌past‌ ‌few‌ ‌weeks,‌ ‌I‌ ‌have‌ ‌mentioned‌ ‌different‌ ‌topics.‌ ‌Such‌ ‌as:‌ ‌Don't‌ ‌be‌ ‌frightened‌ ‌to‌ ‌display‌ ‌your‌ ‌talents,‌ ‌give‌ ‌way‌ ‌to‌ ‌your‌ ‌worst‌ ‌impulse‌ ‌and‌ ‌to‌ ‌abandon‌ ‌normal‌ ‌instruments.‌Â
‌ ‌But‌ ‌today‌ ‌as‌ ‌this‌ ‌is‌ ‌my‌ ‌last‌ ‌blog‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌term,‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌talking‌ ‌about‌ ‌courage.‌ ‌Once‌ ‌you‌ ‌have‌ ‌completed‌ ‌all‌ ‌your‌ ‌work,‌ ‌made‌ ‌your‌ ‌designs‌ ‌and‌ ‌written‌ ‌your‌ ‌poems,‌ ‌you‌ ‌need‌ ‌the‌ ‌courage‌ ‌to‌ ‌place‌ ‌it‌ ‌all‌ ‌online‌ ‌for‌ ‌many‌ ‌to‌ ‌see‌ ‌and‌ ‌for‌ ‌many‌ ‌to‌ ‌judge.‌ ‌At‌ ‌this‌ ‌point‌ ‌in‌ ‌life‌ ‌we‌ ‌as‌ ‌artists‌ ‌have‌ ‌to‌ ‌take‌ ‌up‌ ‌courage‌ ‌to‌ ‌post‌ ‌what‌ ‌we‌ ‌have‌ ‌done,‌ ‌due‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌possibility‌ ‌of‌ ‌receiving‌ ‌backlash‌ ‌and‌ ‌judgment‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌work‌ ‌we‌ ‌have‌ ‌done.‌ ‌That‌ ‌is‌ ‌to‌ ‌me‌ ‌the‌ ‌most‌ ‌difficult‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌any‌ ‌project,‌ ‌not‌ ‌the‌ ‌work‌ ‌itself‌ ‌but‌ ‌what‌ ‌comes‌ ‌after.‌Â
‌ ‌For‌ ‌this‌ ‌week‌ ‌I‌ ‌have‌ ‌finalized‌ ‌my‌ ‌car‌ ‌that‌ I ‌made‌ ‌in‌ ‌Blender,‌ ‌now‌ I‌ ‌am‌ ‌not‌ ‌very‌ ‌good‌ ‌at‌ ‌modeling‌ ‌vehicles‌ ‌or‌ ‌really‌ ‌much‌ ‌anything‌ ‌else‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌program,‌ ‌but‌ I have‌ ‌tried‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌have‌ ‌to‌ ‌admit‌ ‌that I ‌have‌ ‌improved‌ ‌along‌ ‌the‌ ‌way.‌ ‌This‌ ‌is‌ ‌how‌ ‌it‌ ‌began,‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌will‌ ‌show‌ ‌you‌ ‌how‌ ‌it‌ ‌all‌ ‌changed‌ ‌and‌ ‌became‌ ‌something‌ ‌different ‌I ‌originally‌ ‌started‌ ‌off‌ ‌with‌ ‌block‌ ‌modeling,‌ ‌getting‌ ‌the‌ ‌basic‌ ‌shapes‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌vehicle.‌
 ‌This‌ ‌was‌ ‌my‌ ‌original‌ ‌progress‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌front‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌vehicle,‌ ‌but‌ ‌still‌ ‌I‌ ‌was‌ ‌not‌ ‌satisfied.‌ ‌I‌ ‌wanted‌ ‌to‌ ‌change‌ ‌something‌ ‌but‌ ‌I‌ ‌just‌ ‌wasn't‌ ‌too‌ ‌sure‌ ‌what‌ ‌needed‌ ‌change,‌ ‌so‌ ‌I‌ ‌played‌ ‌around‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌model‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌while‌ ‌and‌ ‌came‌ ‌up‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌new‌ ‌way‌ ‌of‌ ‌working.Â
‌I‌ ‌then‌ ‌changed‌ ‌it‌ ‌up‌ ‌a‌ ‌bit,‌ ‌and‌ ‌went‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌more‌ ‌cartoony‌ ‌feel,‌ ‌but‌ ‌at‌ ‌this‌ ‌point‌ ‌I‌ ‌was‌ ‌still‌ ‌not‌ ‌satisfied‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌model.‌ ‌Something‌ ‌had‌ ‌to‌ ‌change.‌
 ‌‌Finally‌ ‌I‌ ‌ended‌ ‌up‌ ‌with‌ ‌this‌ ‌model,‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌happy‌ ‌with‌ ‌it,‌ ‌but‌ ‌feel‌ ‌more‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ ‌done.‌ ‌I‌ ‌opted‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌more‌ ‌cartoonish‌ ‌style‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌the‌ ‌project‌ ‌easier‌ ‌for‌ ‌myself‌ ‌and‌ ‌not‌ ‌having‌ ‌to‌ ‌add‌ ‌a‌ ‌tremendous‌ ‌amount‌ ‌of‌ ‌detail,‌ ‌after‌ ‌all‌ ‌this‌ ‌was‌ ‌meant‌ ‌for‌ ‌my‌ ‌grandparents,‌ ‌but‌ ‌I‌ ‌couldn't‌ ‌get‌ ‌it‌ ‌3D‌ ‌printed‌ ‌in‌ ‌time,‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌didn't‌ ‌have‌ ‌the‌ ‌finance‌ ‌for‌ ‌it‌ ‌either.‌ ‌ ‌This‌ ‌year‌ ‌has‌ ‌been‌ ‌a‌ ‌rollercoaster‌ ‌of‌ ‌emotions‌ ‌and‌ ‌troubles‌ ‌but‌ ‌we‌ ‌all‌ ‌pushed‌ ‌through‌ ‌it‌ ‌in‌ ‌whatever‌ ‌way‌ ‌we‌ ‌could.‌ ‌This‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌my‌ ‌final‌ ‌blog‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌year.‌ ‌I‌ ‌hope‌ ‌you‌ ‌all‌ ‌enjoyed‌ ‌my‌ ‌

Don't be frightened to display your talents.
Every once and a while we have to display our talents, to receive criticism even though that is what most are frightened of. Criticism, good or bad, is always helpful to a person's project.Â
So I am displaying the talent I currently have for blender, and yes I am frightened for the feedback, but I know either way I will appreciate it.Â
In my project I have decided to redo the way I modeled my car, again. I am struggling to create this car and learning new things every time I work on it. I have opted for a more cartoonish look for the car.
This project is much harder than I originally anticipated, especially due to the fact that I am falling behind on other subjects' work, I am slowly catching up but as we are in week six or eight I am running out of time, but with the right time management and work ethics I should be done soon.
For this week I have done the body of the car, for next week I plan on doing the wheels and the interior. By the final hand in, everything should be refined and adjusted where needed.
My main goal for this upcoming week is to actually get in the proper amount of sleep, maybe then my brain will function properly and I won't be as stressed out for the work I need to do.Â
Below I have attached two images of my progress so far.

Abandon Normal Instruments
Abandon Normal Instruments. In life we always have to make way for change, to abandon our normal instruments and make a necessary change, in order to make progress in a project or situation we are currently in. This week I attempted to continue my car project, but quickly fell short and couldn't fix the mistakes I made, therefore having to restart my whole project.
I decided to use a different method of modeling the car. I found blueprints of the car that I need which is helpful, but realized really quickly that even if I have the right reference images and set them up correctly, there will always be a small issue. In my case it would be the reference images not aligning properly, causing one half of the model to be slightly bigger or different in the smallest of ways that will have a big influence on the model later on.
I started with the hood and lights of the car, and after trial and error, I can admit that modelling cars in blender is a really difficult task. I haven't gotten very far, I need to work on my time management skills. I do hope to get further in this project by next weekend, and to learn more about blender and how to make my projects easier to work with.
I have attached my work in progress build of my car. The hood, lights and front bumper are all separate parts of the vehicle, by next weekend I hope to have the full body done.

Courage
Courage, to be courageous is to not be deterred by danger or pain but to be brave.
This week for my project progress I was not able to do much, due to my pc having hardware issues throughout the week, I have determined that my Hard drive has failed, and I have lost a lot of work. Luckily though most of my term 4 work for University was saved onto my external hard drive and onto my online Drive.
For this week I was planning on adding details to the hood and boot of the vehicle to make it seem more natural and not just a block with wheels. I was also going to make the wheels of the vehicle more accurate to that of my reference images.
At the moment I am struggling with modeling the vehicle as it is more intense to model than a room would be, thus making it easier to spot mistakes that could be made. This past week has been a difficult one with my hard drive failing and my pc having to be sent in to get formatted. I only got my pc on Friday at about 5pm and have been reinstalling my necessary apps.Â
For this upcoming week I am definitely going to be doing more progress on the vehicle, to make up for my lack of progress for this week. My only main issue now, other than my pc, is my time management. At the moment it is all over the place, but by Monday i hope to have it all under control once again.

Do we need Holes?
Do we need holes? That all depends on how you interpret the question. It could have many different connotations. It could be taken literally, as in are holes required for this model? If so how many? What purpose do they each have? Or it could be taken figuratively, what holes have I encountered during the process? Are they too much or just enough? Will I be able to overcome these holes?
In this case I am focusing on “loophole's”, what loopholes can I find in the work I am doing? What can I do to make the process easier for myself?
So far what I found that could make this model a bit easier, is to do a block model of the car (basic shape of the body and wheels). Once that is done I will be able to interpret it from there. Finding source images also helps to make the modelling process simpler. I am also planning on going for a more stylised approach for the model, allowing me to add or subtract whatever detail I feel is unnecessary or not.
As mentioned in my previous blog post, I am also planning on adding slits to the car to allow for a photo or two to be held in the car. The model itself won't be bigger than an average cell phone, preventing it from taking up unnecessary space.
I will also have the names of my grandparents etched on the bottom of the car, as a symbol to show that it belongs to them.
Here is the progress I have so far, not much due to having other projects to do as well.

Give Way To Your Worst Impulse.
Give way to your impulse. Sometimes you just got to give in to that one impulse to get what you need or what you want from a certain situation. In my case it is the impulse to get better at working in blender, I have been having the urge to work more in blender and to do something for my grandparents, seeing as they have done much for me.
Both my grandma and grandpa have a soft spot for Porsche, they used to own a Porsche, it was a maroon 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa. I am going to recreate the vehicle in blender and if possible, I would like to 3D print it for them to have something they will appreciate and could possibly use. I am still working on some ideas of how they can use it, I was thinking of turning it into a picture holder, so whenever they see the car, they also see their fondest of memories.
I am planning on documenting my progress each week, updating you on the progress and to give feedback on my progress. This will be a difficult but worthwhile task, but I have been having the urge to do this for a while.
Not only will this help me hone my 3D modelling skills for University, but it will bring a smile to the faces of the people I love. And possibly assist me in getting into the working industry. When it comes to any art form, it is always best to let your impulses flow.
