This was their second time around with this. The anniversary of Anton's death had fallen during her time in Andrei's care and she remembered how hard it was on him. Now they were back to it again. Bridget had gotten home earlier that day from the city with a bag of his favorite snacks in some sort of effort to soften the blow. She didn't even think he'd looked at them.

After an unusually quiet dinner her boyfriend had excused himself from the table a little too quickly. After giving him a few minutes, Bridget followed to his office. Once her position was given away, she saw him swipe his hand across his face. Her heart broke, and without another word she crossed the room and wrapped her arms around his waist in a tight, silent hug.

He hadn't heard them coming, thinking he had been alone as he paced back and forth in the hall. There's a shake of his head when he hears the floor creak, attention and gaze snapping over to the source before quickly looking away again. "I'm fine." He snaps out, voice low and deep as a tear starts to slip out. His hand lifts quickly, wiping it away before it could leave its mark. He was thankful he looked away in time, praying it wasn't noticed. "You can leave."
