There is a sadness to this girl.

A look of a dog who’s been kicked one too many times. She seems like she’d have such a nice life but SOMETHING is wrong...

It’s not his place to say or see what that something is. But that doesn’t mean he won’t help her as best as he can... The lonely eyes of hers makes him wonder what she’s seen. What she’s been through.

He wants quite badly to help. To make her feel safe.

But it’s not his business.

He’s literally never seen her before in his life.

But she has their weird aura around her. Like. Like she’s one of those nursemaids that follow around really rich kids and punishes them if they’re too unruly. 

Something in his gut tells him that she’s not quite like that. But.. still. Instincts still tells him that maybe interacting with her wouldn’t be the most amazing idea in the world. 

Especially since he still looks like a damn dirty delinquent. Girls don’t always like that look...

He’s not D-class personnel, thank goodness. Hell, he’s be studying this SCP for nearly a year now and he’s only had 2 attempts at breaching containment.  Daiya was pretty decent at keeping him under control. 

The man’s not EXACTLY a scientist. More of an enthusiast who happened to be able to keep the SCP in line better than all the tranq darts in the base. Probably because Daiya looks intimidating, but he’s perfected a means of moving that is nonthreatening and even calming.

Daiya regards the SCP with respect and is usually one of the few allowed to do any sort of testing on him. Today, he’s just taken a few blood samples, and has brought Ishis some raw meat as a reward.

He sits and tells him about his day. About his family.

He has no idea of the SCP understands. But he doesn’t ignore him.

That’s enough, really.

Oh!

Wow, he... never expected to meet an actual idol here. 

Daiya Oowada wasn’t exactly into the idol scene but he was at least knowledgeable enough to recognize Maizono-san. She looks just like any other girl here, so typical. And yet? 

He can’t help but feel weirdly protective.

Like... He knows that idol have to deal with some really shady guys. And he’s already caught himself feeling protective of the students of Hope’s Peak. And with her pretty eyes, long blue hair, trusting demeanor... He can’t help it! She’s just a really sweet girl, and the thought of people being less than respectful...

It’s kind of upsetting. 

Maybe... he can ask later if she needs a bodyguard or needs extra security. After all, some of the Diamonds are fans...

Bright eyes. A nervous disposition. Fingers that curled around other fingers, tugged at sleeves.

Daiya was familiar with this kid.

He was always out here, doing whatever it was that hall monitors did. Upholding the school rules and all that shit.

And yet, Daiya can’t help but wanna defend him.

There’s something that reminds Daiya of a shaky looking dog. Maybe it’s the almost halfhearted barking he does whenever he has to enforce a rule. Or the way he shakes but still runs up to reprimand troublemakers. 

Whatever the case is, Daiya never causes trouble when he’s around. 

He already has so much on his plate anyway...

It’s her!

He’s seen her around in the past. Her long brown hair. Her lovely eyes. 

Daiya was a man of crushes. He fell in and out of love like a bird landing and taking off into the sky. And yet, there was something about her. Her kind demeanor, the way she spoke and how encouraging she was with her students...

No bones about it.

Daiya was in love.

But he was in love with the concept of her. The idea of a woman like her was appealing to him. And love cannot survive on that alone. 

As such, he cannot help but try and stay away from her when he’s on campus, picking up Mondo... But his eyes always follow her, no matter how hard he tries to look away.

He doesn’t even know her name.

And yet Daiya can’t bring himself to look at her for more than a minute. 

He’s always seen her go by, when he comes to pick up Mondo. She’s always got the latest look, or some other bullshit reason to wear those accessories she’s always got on. He can’t say he HATES it but... they’re just not to his taste. And besides, there’s something about her. 

Like, when she smiles, the heat seems to leave his face. A shudder goes down his spine, like he’s staring down an enemy gangleader... But she’s just a teenager. Right? She’s a tacky, harmless teenage model. That’s her right.

And yet...

Why does looking into her eyes make his blood run cold? 

Why does hearing her voice make him flinch?

Maybe he’s just overthinking this...
