Not enough people are using environmental science/wildlife work/etc as like the setting for their yaoi or yuri or au fanfiction or whatever. Because they’re scared of not knowing that much about it. Theyre missing out on the incredible potential of messy, exhausting field work in insane weather conditions, shared housing, lab-induced boredom, being forced to cooperate with others both internal and external to your organization, struggling for grants etc….. the narrative potential… the opportunities for conflict and overcoming conflict… for creating intense, powerful bonds in a short period of time. They don’t know!

People who send voice messages to group chats are fun because I'm never just casually in a place where I can listen to stuff like that right then and there, so you'll have a 30 second long voice message and there's three people commenting "what the fuck that sucks, you should be able to file a police report about that", and without being able to listen to the voice message you have no idea whether the subject at hand is "the hospital fucking lost my goddamn grandma, nobody knows what building or city she is currently in and we can't find her" or "the neighbour farted so loud that I could hear him through the wall."
