*not legal advice, but a general PSA*
If you are in the United States, then you may have heard that the Supreme Court has been formally requested to revisit its Obergefell v. Hodges decision from 2015 — the landmark case that extended the constitutional right to marriage to gay couples under the 14th Amendment.
It is likely that SCOTUS will agree to hear the case because conservative justices have been incredibly vocal about their desire to overturn Obergefell since it was handed down (and it was a narrow 5-4 decision). Given what happened in 2022 with the Dobbs decision and the right to abortion, it is likely the current court would vote to overturn it under much of the same rationale — ie, the decision should be left to the states to decide how to regulate.
To be clear: overturning Obergefell won’t per se invalidate your marriage license, but it may result in your state/the federal government no longer recognizing certain significant rights that have traditionally been attendant to the institution of marriage. There are over a thousand federal rights that marriage confers including generally, beneficiary/descendant/survivor rights, healthcare decisions, tax rights, and the like. Furthermore, the Respect for Marriage Act does not federally codify Obergefell — namely, it still allows states to enact discriminatory laws against gay marriage should Obergefell be overturned.
Underthedesknews put together a comprehensive list of documents gay married couples may want/need in order to protect those rights. The link to that video is below.
The fight for marriage equality won’t end with whatever the Supreme Court decides next term, but it will be rife with new challenges. Take time to learn how you can protect yourselves and your spouses.

Last rodcracker artwork for now but here's um, a redraw of Pop Team Epic made as art request, with TC as Pipimi and Roddy as Popuko. Ngl they oddly fit quite well together, more so with the colours and personality haha

an underrated part of the Flash Game era was the sheer amount of copyright infringement going on. you could straight up have mario murder koopas with a shotgun and nobody would stop you. nowadays if you make a fangame perfectly in compliance with their brand standards Nintendo will send a deep web hitman after you

When I talk about how contemporary American neurodeterminist cultural attitudes are new, how they came about within my adult lifetime, how for the overwhelming bulk of human societies around the globe and throughout history they would have been considered ridiculous...
My point is literally never. Ever. Ever. "Retvrn to a better time."
I am not saying that other times/places/cultural norms about young people and neurodivergent people were ever BETTER.
I am saying that contemporary American attitudes are presented as objective, biological neurological reality, and they simply are not.
When I say "In 1950, a 25-year-old mother sending her 6-year-old child on an errand by himself would have been the most unremarkable thing in the world," I am not saying "Child-rearing and family life were better overall in 1950 than in 2025" because that is transparently false. That kid probably went to a segregated school and got polio. Everything was terrible.
What I am saying is "The fact that the abilities of a 6-year-old errand-runner or a 19-year-old new parent were assumed sufficient in a different cultural context is irrefutable proof that those presumed inabilities in our current culture are not in fact Biological Truths."
