so I give my wishes as much as one can .. and step back to reality and the day ..

the Sun in the afternoon .. the green grass and its memories of the homes before and their presence always .. from Allahabad - PrayagRaj to Delhi and back .. there was ever that warmth of the presence .. not just of the shining Sun, but of the company of family and friends ..

in the summers in - then Allahabad - the absolute freedom of the open .. no doors locked , no gates closed .. just us and the freshness of nature , on the lawn .. the distant sound of the 'siyaar' सियार , the jackal at night .. the lathi sound of the night watch-mans on the road .. their regular chant of 'jagte raho', जागते रहो ', as they moved about on the lonely silent nights ..

those were magnificent days .. carefree and in the blessings of the Maker ..

and the drifting fragrance of the 'raat ki raani' रात की रानी, flower on the tree branch .. so nascent, yet so within us with each breath ..

the DAY has ended ..

and tomorrow another - of challenges and decisions and do's and don'ts of life .. of questions and seeking answers ..

it is by this grace that we extend to the another in another .. and may it be ever so for all ..

Sunil has always been most gracious in remembering my Birthday and I his, through all these years right from the 70's during our first meet, in England and then on Gundappa Viswanath's wedding to his sister .. it was held at the lawn opposite the Shivaji Park , Mumbai .. and he invited me .. from then on every birthday , no matter where we are the greetings continue .. and now Rohan his Son and Abhishek share a similar relationship .. and both our Grandchildren study in the same School ..

चेहरा उनका लेप से लदा हुआ , असलियत अपनी बता नहीं सकते !!!
