school got easier the moment i realised that so many things in school are just preparing us to work in a capitalist system, i always struggled with being either late or missing school and for the most part i would have valid reasons for those missed days but i would still get screamed at and oftentimes i would hear that

"when you start working your employer won't tolerate this"

and then it clicked. i believe some teachers might genuinely be worried about some students missing work/being absent from school but a lot of those systems in place that are supposed to prevent missed work, missed school days, punish people that are disabled, that are struggling. and if they don't punish them? they will congratulate everyone that has perfect attendance in front of everyone and it sends a message. a pretty clear message.

I HATE seeing posters, especially around schools, that say “failure is not an option”. Fuck that. Failure is always an option. It’s okay to fail. You will fail in life at some point. You need to prepare yourself for failure or else once you do fail, it will destroy you and you won’t know how to pick yourself up. Failure is a part of life. Failure is always an option.
