Edwin Fic: I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

A/N: This is my fic for the final day of @edwinholidayweek! Yes, I totally got the idea from the song that I used as the title. I just found it a funny idea that the twins would see Winry kissing Ed as a Santa and this fic started expanding from there. And in case someone’s still wondering, I HC Edwin having 6 kids: Alan, Emma, Elena, Arthur and the twins Erika and Henry, who will be the “heroes” of this story. Pls enjoy and let me know what you think! Ps. In Finland it’s usual that Santa actually stays in the house for a bit so I’m going with my own experiences here.

”Ho, ho, ho! Have you kids been nice?”

“Santa!” The 5-year-old Rockbell-Elric twins exclaimed in unison when they saw who arrived and raced to give him a hug.

“Yes, we’ve been very nice!” Erika gave the white bearded man a bright smile, patting her eyelids a couple of times.

“So nice you can’t even believe!” Henry accompanied his twin sister, trying to look as innocent as possible.

“Hmmmm? That’s good then!” Smirking, Santa Claus added: “Although, my elves have reported that sometimes you little rasc… um, sweeties, have caused some trouble for your parents, but maybe they have made some kind of mistake there. Mum, what do you say?” He turned his attention to Winry, who had just arrived to greet the guest.

Edwin Holiday Week is here!! Missed the first day, but here is my (rather short) piece for day two! I freaking love how awkward these two are around each other, so I hope you enjoy these babies being dorky idiots! Let me know what y’all think!

“Are you sure that’s such a great idea?”

Havoc smirked down at Breda, “Are you saying you don’t trust me?”

Breda shrugged, “Just sayin’, don’t let Hawkeye see you.”

Almost as if on cue, the door to the inner office opened. Havoc quickly dropped down from the chair he’d been standing on and kicked it back towards the table. Breda rolled his eyes.

“Yeah, yeah, well just be glad I stopped in at all, bastard.”

“Of course, how else would I know how Alphonse is doing if he didn’t make you check-in.”

Havoc winked at Breda as Ed started to head towards the door, Mustang leaning in the doorway.

“Headin’ out already, Chief?”

Ed nodded, shoving his hands into his pockets as he continued towards the door, “Yeah, train leaves early tomorrow and there’s still a few people on the list to visit.”

Fuery stuck his head up from the desk, “Alphonse isn’t stopping by?”

Ed snorted, “Oh he’ll definitely come by. Winry and I have plans this evening though-”

“And he knew you’d use that as an excuse not to see us,” Mustang finished with a smirk.

Ed scowled, but before he could get going Havoc interrupted, “Goin’ on a date?”

Ed’s face quickly turned red as he started sputtering, “I- it’s-”

“Ed! You ready?”

Winry poked her head through the main door, and Ed’s face almost turned more red. Winry turned to everyone else, “Sorry if I interrupted.”

Havoc waved his hand, and Breda slapped Ed on the back, “No worries. I’m sure he was just on the way out.”

Ed slunk towards the door, “Right, well, better get going…” Ed trailed off as he looked up at the ceiling.

Havoc’s face split into a grin.

Winry followed Ed’s gaze, and suddenly the color of her face started to rival Ed’s. They snapped their gazes to each other, still blushing furiously.

“You know, Fullmetal-”

“Shut up!” Ed glared at Mustang for just a second before fixing Winry with a determined look, taking a steadying breath, and leaning over to give her a short kiss.

Winry squeaked. Havoc and Breda collapsed into badly covered snorts. Ed and Winry quickly looked anywhere but each other.

Mustang let out a long sigh, “You’ve been married for two years.” He added, more to himself, “It’s a miracle he married anyone.”

Ps. I will most likely skip tomorrow’s theme because the Truth knows I’ve written too many gift fics already, BUT there is a tiny chance that I will write a mistletoe mini fic instead. We’ll see.
