Thinking again about the opening of s2e8 and Ed being attacked by Pop Pop and how he barely tells Pop Pop to stop, and instead looks to the son for help. “Control your Pop Pop.”

Because in Ed’s mind Pop Pop is doing what fathers do, is being aggressive and uncontrollable, and it’s the son’s responsibility to protect people from the father. Just like Ed failed to protect his mother from his father. Until he didn’t.

For real though. One thing I mourn about series 3 is that I really wanted to see Ed’s outfits. Like, this is a man who is always in costume, whether it’s his own leather-jacket-armour, or a sack-cloth onesie, or dressing up in Stede’s clothes for fun or for comfort, or claiming Buttons’s leftovers to live his fantasy fisherman life, the whole Kraken look, or even painting himself as a bride.

I want to see what he’ll choose to wear when he can finally have a choice of his own. I want to see what it means for him to just be Ed. 💜
