I think Fire Emblem needs to either animate its supports more or go back to portraits. Plotlines like Lissa pranking Robin with a frog or Alear and Alcryst meeting a wolf hinge on things that the player can't see - but the latter feels much more dissatisfying to watch because instead of having to imagine the scene, you see the characters mimicking around an invisible object. Even though the game literally has wolf models. 3H mostly worked around this by having the characters talk about things that already happened, but it also made the supports feel more static because nothing sustainable is happening in the scene itself. It just feels like a waste to have the resources to make your units interact in 3D only for them to stand around and talk.
