I know this is a lot to ask, I really do.

My mum has had dentures since she was a young adult and her jaws have shrunk to the point where the denturist can’t do much with the dentures so that they fit well enough. They hurt her, and she can’t eat properly.

I’ve seen her have to call it quits during a meal because she just can’t handle wearing the dentures anymore.

Even though she hasn’t said much about it, I can see that she’s in pain when she wears them, especially when eating.

Mum wears them only about half the time now, which is something she never used to do.

I’m worried about her. 

I’ve convinced her to start a gofundme, like I had.

She doesn’t have much hope that she’ll get the surgery. I’m going to be trying to sell things to raise money for the cause, and post that stuff here along with trying to boost her campaign.

I’m back!

Okay, so the past year has been rough - mental and physical health issues, family concerns, etc. I decided to focus on trying to get into a better place.

I’m not 100%, but I felt it was more than time to start this blog up again.

You probably remember me. Maybe?

In desperation, I made a gofundme in hopes that I would be able to get the surgical implants in order to save my jaws.

Miraculously, mainly thanks to beautiful souls here on Tumblr, I am able to get that done.

Again, thank you all so incredibly much! I can’t tell you how touched I am that so many people cared enough to send wonderful messages of hope, of well wishes, and understanding from being in a similar situation, as well as the generosity of donations.

I recently got the news that between April and May, I will be having this procedure done.

I’ll keep everyone updated on what happens.

i work in a pet store. a woman was looking at our bettas and asked me whether one was male or female. i told her that they were all male, because they are- our company only orders male bettas. she looked at me incredulously and pointed at one and asked, “even this one?” i was like “…yes, why?” “it’s pink, though! why is the male fish pink?” i swear, she was borderline angry at me. i didn’t know how to explain that fish genetics don’t adhere to human gender roles
