In order for the story to progress I’ve gotta put the guy into the situation but the guy isn’t naturally going into the situation so I’ve gotta figure out a semi-homemade mostly entertaining mostly believable way of getting the guy into the situation. But then is the situation itself even realistic? What does realistic mean when I have a half elf super mutant in this story? Would that half elf super mutant like almond milk? Almond milk existed in medieval Europe but would my readers believe that almond milk would exist in my setting? Should I do more research on how to make almond milk? What is this cone thing? Can I somehow use this almond milk cone thing to get my guy into the situation? Are elves allergic to almonds? Will I ever escape this hell I have created for myself?

really heavily reject this idea that just by virtue of being oppressed you understand everything about all types of oppression, and that reading theory is unnecessary or is something that unoppressed people do to make themselves feel good. do not fall for this trap. you need to be reading . you need to be learning. your own ideas are good but they can only carry you so far. learn from others.

Can you tell us more about your 2013 Vox AU? :3

Its not much it's basically just me being super self-indulgent because I Need that Tiny Man pulling a Goliath.

Vox comes to Hell like that and has to deal with being made fun of and not taken seriously for a while. He's a little guy who develops Big Feelings.

Since he's so small he's had to use most of his time and energy to avoid getting trampled and just trying to get a job. The only job he can get is something humiliating (idk what) and all of it wears on him until he's just like a hair's width from completely losing it.

He meets Alastor who encourages him to just Show Them with his power/skills/anything else he has. But it doesn't work. Not to the extent that he wants. The Radio Demon whips out his power and he's terrifying. The little cartoon guy whips out his power and he's a little weirdo.

So then he starts marketing himself as a character which Alastor finds disappointing. He likes Silly but the way Vox is doing it is Icky and the two distance themselves from each other without really any Big Fight or anything.

The rest is basically all staticmoth and little scenarios. Val really needs money one day out on the streets and decides to service this ridiculous little cricket for a quick buck. It ends up being a fun time with a very enthusiastic partner but he doesn't dwell on it once it's over.

Meanwhile, since Val called Vox 'Papi' one (1) time, Vox is obsessed and starts trying to court him. They haven't even considered going into business with each other, Vox is just absolutely smitten with the one man who took him 'seriously' and was hot as fuck to boot.

Val is embarrassed to be seen with such a ridiculous character chasing after him... At first.

He tries messing with him, eventually, saying stuff like:

"Oh, I would go out with you tonight but I'm going out with --- instead."

And then Val's list of suitors just kinda start...

Disappearing.

And that's weird. But the little cartoon guy is still around. Does he have something to do with...? Naaaaaaah.

Then he runs into Vox stomping on the corpse of his date because he's trying to stuff them in a dumpster. When Vox sees him, he brandishes a new bouquet of flowers and is like "so i heard your plans got cancelled uwu"

And Val realizes, "Oh, this guy is actually insane."

He should really run away.

Then.

"Oh, he's actually insane about me🥺."

Val takes the bouquet and Vox gets a 10ft Wife a few months later.

They eventually get into movie business with each other. A lot of people assume Val is the one in charge of their business because Vox just sells himself as a mascot. Really, Vox is in charge but he uses his small and unassuming body as an advantage and easily gains the trust of several individuals.

I don't have much beyond that. I just like imagining the staticmoth stuff from when they meet up until they start a business. It's mostly just Vox simping for Val lmaooo

Val is way better about this whole Vox situation than anyone (including him) thought he could be. But he’s not perfect. There are moments when he loses patience with Vox, when he can’t help but scream and break things and terrorize Vox until he’s too scared to continue with the “conversation.”

I can see there being one particularly bad time when Val lost it at Vox’s non-stop Alastor talk and starts telling him Alastor’s dead. It’s not a lie, per se; no one has any clue what happened to him after he dumped Vox’s dismembered body in the tower’s lobby, although the Vees are almost certain he’s still out there, biding his time for whatever reason. Val just keeps repeating that Alastor’s dead and Vox was probably the one to kill him. He takes a twisted sort of pleasure in Vox’s panic, trying to wring some kind of catharsis out of this wretched situation. All he succeeds in doing is pissing off Velvette, making Vox so frantic that he starts clawing himself, and making himself feel guilty (not an emotion Val’s particularly accustomed to).
