We need everyone's help right now to protect the rainforest and Indigenous People

The Amazon Rainforest is under a massive threat. I know you've heard this a million times, but this is different. There is a piece of legislation that will decimate the rights of Indigenous people of Brazil, who have been protecting the rainforest. It's unfathomably bad. It has majority support. And they're voting tomorrow. As reported here, the Bill allows "the Brazilian government to find energy resources, set up military bases, develop strategic roads, and implement commercial agriculture on protected Indigenous tribal lands, without any prior discussion with the affected peoples."

The thing you can do—and I know this sounds overly simple—is sign this petition—and tell your friends to do the same: SIGN HERE.

As reported here, the Bill allows "the Brazilian government to find energy resources, set up military bases, develop strategic roads, and implement commercial agriculture on protected Indigenous tribal lands, without any prior discussion with the affected peoples."

Again, this bill has majority support. You may be wondering, why will a petition signed by people who don't live in Brazil make any difference? Because it will give those opposing it political air cover. It will show the world is with them.

But we need a LOT of signatures.

One of my favourite things about the library is a prickly old lady named Angèle who often comes on the same day as me, and who systematically returns her books with the comment “Well, that was utter nonsense” (using a delightfully quaint word for nonsense, “sornette”). The librarian told me that she tends to forget which books she’s already read and is always drawn to the same books (“covers with pictures of plants, or birds, or Patrick Modiano”) so that she often borrows the same book numerous times and brings it back proclaiming it to be utter nonsense (“des sornettes, des sornettes !”) with the same gravitas every time. All the regulars love our grouchy local book reviewer with her one and only critique. One of them said if the village’s gazette were still a thing she would have been offered a weekly literary column. And recently a little girl selected a book and asked the librarian if she could recommend it to the old lady, and she came in again this week full of anticipation, asking if “Madame Sornette” had borrowed her book over the holidays, and the librarian said soberly, “yes, I’m afraid your book was utter nonsense”, and the kid started giggling like it was the funniest joke she had ever heard.

Releasing Relationship Spell Jar

Sometimes we stay for longer than we should. Sometimes comfort settles us into a space of acceptance, and we forget to live. After all love of any kind should be restorative and bring happiness to your life. Don't settle for safe. Strive to be content and happy in your relationships as well.

I created the idea of this spell as an energy aid to help release attachments from relationships that have become unhealthy, or do not serve your energy. Its a good aid to have by a restorative space to charge your energy while you rest and strengthen the belief in yourself to set boundaries with a relationship you no longer are happy in.

Preparation

1 - Cleanse your space.

2 - Cleanse your jar.

3 - Create and charge your sigil.

Spell Contents

Layer 1 - Garlic, Black Pepper, Turnip (I recommend slices), Taragon (I tend to dry all my herbs and fresh ingredients if possible).

Layer 2 - Sigil written on a Bay Leaf.

Layer 3 - Black Salt, and Sea Salt (Mix together).

Layer 4 - Pinto Beans (Protects your intention, and keeps trapped any negative energy absorbed within the salt).

Layer 5 - Crystals (The ones in the picture are the ones I chose to boost my resilience and healing, but you can choose the ones that make sense to you or focuses on your needs).

Resight your spell or focus in on placing your intention within the jar's ingredients.

Sealing

(Cork or screw on the lid tightly)

Layer 6 to 8 - Clockwise place drip black, white, and yellow wax over the top to seal it. (I chose those colors for protection, purifying, and happiness, but alter the colors to your needs).

Sometimes its hard to have energy. Its even harder to have energy when you usually have very little energy. I understand this feeling entirely, and as a lover of baths I find this recipe nice. Of course its not practical if you need energy quick, but its a nice wind town or wake up ritual to get you energized.

Warning: Sensitive skin individuals should practice caution as citrus may agitate current skin issues. Be cognizant of how often you use harsher ingredients such a citrus.

Ingredients

Orange

Lime

Lemon

Epsom Salt

Herbs (Lavender, Peppermint, Parsley, Eucalyptus)

Mesh Bag/Tea Bag

Preparing

Cleanse your space, bath, and put up any additional wards required.

In a tea bag, or a mesh bag add your herbs. This recipe uses eucalyptus, parsley, peppermint, and lavender. If you intent to crush them down, do not crush them into a powder or too fine.

Tie off your mesh bag tightly or seal your tea bag. Remember to choose vessles which will allow for the ingredients to steep, but will minimize how many little pieces will escape.

Slice your citrus. I recommend half a orange, half a lemon, and a whole lime, but include as much citrus as you desire.

Casting the Spell

Run a warm bath. It should be warm enough to melt the salt nicely, but not to burn you. Add your Epsom salt as directed by the package. I do like two cups.

Once your salt has been added to the bath, add your citrus to the water while its still running. Remember to recite your spell or keep your intention strong during the entirety of the casting.

Lastly add your tea bag to the bath (I like to place mine with a small weighted object to keep in under and steeping). Keep your spell in the front of your mine, and enter your bath, welcoming the energy and rejuvenation.

Extra Tips

I like to burn incense in the space during the bath. Lavender is my go too.

Feel free to use music or other rejuvenation aids like a book, ect. Make sure to use what helps you relax.

In Honor of Valentine's Day!

Attracting Love Spell

This is small heart-shaped (or whatever shape you want) satchet/pillow that can be place beneath your pillow, in you pocket or bag, or even kept in your bra near your heart.

Ingredients

Red Salt

White Salt

(Optional) Himalayan Pink Salt

Rose

Cinnamon (Powder Form)

Cloves (Powder or Whole)

Allspice (Powder)

Sigil or Statement of Intention

Red Candle

Dry Daisy Petals (Optional)

Red or Pink Fabric

White or Red String/Thread

Steps

Sew your shape, leaving an opening for the mixture. If you can't sew cut the cloth in a large enough square that you can place the contents in the middle and tie if off well.

In a mortar and pestal grind up your rose petals, cloves, cinnamom, allspice, and chili pepper. Try to not place the daisy petals within this mixture.

Once well mixed, add your mixture of red and white salt. Your salt mixture should be 2:1 herb mixture.

Set aside the salt/herb mixture and prepare your sigil or statement of intention.

Charge the sigil within a red candle for passion and to strengthen your intention.

Once its charge coat your piece of paper or Bay leaf with some of the melted red wax.

Fill your satchet, placing the paper or leaf submerged in the salt/herb mixture.

On top add your dry Daisy petals for luck and or lust.

Seal or sew it shut including your intention into the knots of the threads. And your done! Keep close by you so your spells Magick grows.
