Hello everyone! I'm writing a quick post to let you know that I have a shiny new yuri VN up on Steam which can be wishlisted here! It's a relatively short horror VN feat. some very toxic yuri. One of the girls might be a mushroom monster in disguise, who knows? The heroine might end up stricken by a mysterious malady that leaves her vomiting up black gloop and slime, who knows?? There might be lesbian encounters in a church deep in the forest, who knows??? The VN is called Her Love, Like Poison! The character artist did the art for Lonely, my previously released yandere yuri VN, and I think their art is very aesthetic. If you like the look of it and you want to read a short, simple yuri horror story, then this might be a good VN to check out!

Seeing "toxic yuri fan" in their blog header and skimming their last few dozen posts to see whether that's toxic yuri as in "I have ambivalent feelings about the central relationship in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, a PG-rated cartoon for children" or toxic yuri as in "I want them to kill and eat each other".

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a pleasant holiday season, and I wish you all a happy new year!
To kick 2025 off, I'd like to announce a shiny new(?) project I've been working on very slowly for the last couple of years.
As you might have gathered by the title, I've been cobbling together a remake of the first VN I ever released on Steam: the yandere horror/romance story The Way We All Go! You can find the original game here, and the remake here!
The Way We All Go was my very first commercial VN, and it has a special place in my heart. I'm still very fond of the characters, especially Amu and Noelle (Amu even cameos in some of my newer VNs from time to time haha). During the last few years I started to wonder how the VN would look if I'd released it today.
When I wrote The Way We All Go, I was in my second year of university and I didn't have a job. I was dividing my time between writing essays and working on my horror game, which became quite expansive (somehow it wound up being over 200,000 words long), and I didn't have the budget to make it a big, flashy production.
I was a complete newbie when it came to commercial game dev. I'd made a few short, free VNs in the past, but there were all pretty humble, and I made them with purely free for use assets. I'd never commissioned an artist before when I started The Way We All Go, and I remember I was actually very anxious about the commissioning process in general haha ;;;
Given how small my budget was, it feels lke a miracle I was able to commission the few talented artists that I did for the spites and CGs. I didn't have the funds to give it any additional polish, however, and I had to use photographic backgrounds and stock music to finish it. Compared to my newer titles, it looks a little rogh around the edges, but I did the best I could with the resources I had at the time to make something special! I'm still fond of The Way We All Go and how it turned out, despite all of its early game jank, which is why I decided to remake it! I wanted to pump a bit more money into it, and give it the gloss I couldn't afford when I was starting out. The remake will have completely new character sprites, and some supporting characters who didn't have sprites befoe will get them now, like Noelle's mother and Amu's father. The new backgrounds, meanwhile, are all drawn by hand and commissioned for this project, and the soundtrack will be fully original too. I'm upscaling the game to 1080px, instead of the old postage stamp-sized 800x600, and it has a shiny new UI! I will be releasing the remake in 2025, though I'm not entirely sure when. I was hoping to release the remake on March 24th, to coincide with the release of the original VN on Steam. However, I'm not sure if the remake will be finished by then, as I need to recode the whole thing (the old code was Utterly Terrible lmao it's quite shocking...) You can wishlist the remake on Steam here if you're interested! I'll keep working hard on it. Thank you for all of your support until now; it's appreciated!

Just sharing a handful of screenshots from my newly released BL VN (feat. maids and crossdressing!!!), How to Melt a Maiden's Heart. You can check the VN out on Steam here or Itchio here! Melty Heart is a sweet all ages story between a delinquent and the grumpy student council president at his school, who just so happens to work at a maid café. There's nothing particularly fanservicey in the story, and it's mostly light and fluffy. I hope you enjoy it if you choose to check it out! ♡

Hello everyone!
I'm writing a post to let you know that my newest BL VN, How to Melt a Maiden's Heart (or Melty Heart for short), has been released! Yay \o/ You can check it out on Steam here and Itchio here!
Melty Heart is a cute slice of life story set on the fictional Japanese island of Omorishima (whose name might ring a bell if you've read my earlier yuri VN, My Dear Prince. The VNs take place on the same island and there's a couple of references to MDP in Melty Heart.)
The story centers around Reo, a delinquent who doesn't care about his grades, his appearance, or school in general, and Yuuma, the serious head of the student council who's always picking fights with Reo. Reo can't stand Yuuma, and the feeling is mutual... But this changes when Reo discovers, quite by accident, that Yuuma has been working part-time at a local café while dressing as a maid.
Reo uses this knowledge to his advantage, and he decides to blackmail Yuuma. He coerces Yuuma into helping him win over his childhood friend, Chinami. Reo's sure, with Yuuma's help, Chinami will finally fall for him, and they'll be able to live happily ever after...
So why does Reo keep thinking about Yuuma, damn it?! This VN is suitable for all ages and doesn't contain any sexual content or anything particularly fanservicey. There's some cursing, but nothing too excessive. The VN is available on PC, mac, linux, and android (only if you buy it on Itchio, though). I hope you enjoy it!

Some screenshots from episode two of Unluckily in Love: Fragments of Love, which is currenly in progress!!! For those who don't know, UiL: Fragments of Love is a spinoff of my existing BL VN, Unluckily in Love. It's a collection of relatively short episodes (by short I mean 40-50k each lol) about Yuel and Tavi, the leads of Unluckily in Love, after they've formed a romantic relationship and they're a couple. It's a series of cute slice of life vignettes which are pretty cute and fluffy. This story is all about them going on dates, and since it's set in the UK they go to a few UK-specific locations too (because I like writing about my home country lol there are some nice places in the UK guys...) The first episode of Unluckily in Love: Fragments of Love can be downloaded for free on Itchio here! I think I'll release the first three episodes for free, then make the remaining seven episodes (yes there are 10 of these and yes I've already written all of them lol) paid DLC. I'll upload the game onto Steam when eps 1-3 are finished. Uh I'm not sure when ep2 will be finished, but I'm just waiting on a few CGs. The sprites, backgrounds, music, and writing are all finished, so it's in a good state already. I'm hoping to release it at the very end of December, as a belated Christmas gift, but if it's not possible I'll try to release it in January/February~ish. Please look forward to it!

how did you start making vn’s with other artists? i’ve always wanted to write a vn or make an otome game since i was a little kid but i’m not the best at art and i’m not sure what all goes into making the game/vn itself! i’d love some advice as someone who loves your vn’s :’)
Intially, I made all of my VNs with free for use assets (such as photographic backgrounds, stock music, and sprites which were posed 3D models in MMD or free for use stock sprites uploaded by kind artists on the internet). My earlier VNs were all fairly short and I didn't intend to sell them, so I figured it was fine. Later, I started working on The Way We All Go, which is a pretty long VN (it's around 200k...) I figured, since I was spending so much time on the writing, I should commission some custom character sprites for it at the very least, to make it look a bit more professional (and because I wanted to sell it). I found an artist by looking around on Deviantart for artists who could draw in a cute anime style, whose prices weren't too high. The artist I originally contact had very low prices (I think they charged like $25 a sprite, which is insanely low) so commissioning them didn't cost too mch and I was able to finish the project. Eventually, as I worked on more projects and made more money from my VNs, I was able to afford artists who charged more, and I could also afford custom backgrounds and music, too! If you want to work with an artist, you need to look for somebody in your price range, and ask if they'd be interested in working on a project with you. Give them the details of the story, tell them how much art you need, and give them the time frame for the project. Then, they can decide if they'd be interested. If not, you can look for somebody else. I used to look for artists solely on Deviantart, but there's a lot of good artists on Twitter, Bsky, Instagram, and in various Discord servers now too. For an early project you should probably try to find an artist whose rates are on the lower end, because working with an established artist who charges upwards of $500 a sprite will soon become very costly (and if it's your first project you might not have the motivation to finish it, which would be a waste of money). I wish you luck and I hope your project goes well!
