mARTch day 27: Another person's artstyle

Because I have been obsessed with Delicious in Dungeon for months and months I used this opportunity to draw my OC Laurent in Ryoko Kui's artstyle.

I completely messed up on the shading when I painted Laurent in watercolour, which is why he is in mostly flat gouache.

Before I went into meme week in the drawing challenge I wanted to quickly figure out a basic design for Laurent's family... and ended up with rankings from Charlene, an evil stepmother archetype and Laurent's birth mother. I adore her! She's vicious, unfair, only in it for herself and Laurent idolises her.

mARTch challenge 2025 day 18: Shine

UK citizens are by and large irreligious or barely Christian (15% attend church on the regular) but we're legally a Christian country - the King's the head of the Church, the House of Lords must have a certain number of bishops shaping government laws and all schools must hold weekly assemblies promoting Christian values. Because of this I have a good dozen hymns and more parables than I can shake a stick at stuck in my head

Including SHINE JESUS SHINE which I have been singing on and off to myself for days ever since I sat down to brainstorm something for this prompt.

I did consider redoing my sketch with ruler and protractor to get everything lined up pretty but that was too much finesse to dedicate to reliving my weekly Government Mandated Indoctrination Sessions.

mARTch challenge 2025: Warm colours

View of the dividing wall between the pews and the choir/organ at St George’s chapel in Windsor. I took only the warm-hued felt tip pens with me.

I wanted to draw stained windows, but they all had bits of blue or purple that defeated the challenge to only use warms.

Since taking photos is banned I could snap a pic and improve this when I got back home, so here it is, drawn on my lap while I sat in a pew.

mARTch challenge 2025 day 15: Primary colours

Coloured in my linework from earlier in the month and had fun mixmixmixing some colours up to paint with. My watercolour has the perfect colours for Laurent's hair, skin and various parts of his outfit so i don't usually need to do much more than wet and dab. This was fantastic practice.

<_< and reminded me for the umpteenth time that what I really ought to be practicing is how cloth drapes over the body. Don't look too hard below his waist please.
