"true? more false than true? are you a RIDDLES guy?" head cocked to the side, nails picking at the wrapper that was getting SOGGY with condensation on her beer bottle. she'd barely had any of it -- pre game jitters maybe... not that she had much to worry about. junior varsity supplied some COMFORT.

"well, i hope you're ready to get an earful. i don't think any one of those girls on varsity even lets coach boss them around. it's just the jackie and taissa show." a shrug, bottle moving up to her lips as she took a slow sip. "want one? i keep a secret stash to myself so that i don't have to resort to whatever keg of NASTY randy walsh conjured up." she figured why not? he seemed nice ENOUGH. and she was currently avoiding whatever bickering the rest of the team was doing anyway.

charlie wasn't a hundred percent sure how he ended up here. no, he got the job and understood that one. but this party- with all of the team. it felt like he was treading on sacred ground for them. he was always calm, always kept a level-head, but there were still boundaries he wanted to respect. despite those rational thoughts, his curiosity got the better of him.

old converse pushed him along through the woods, hands in the pockets of his hoodie, covered in band patches. it felt like almost instantly, he was seen and known. there were a championship-bound team and he was coming in to 'learn.' which meant he might fuck it up. "true? i'd wager more...false than true. i'm here to learn how to boss a good team around more so," charlie replied and saddled up in front of rachel.

she didn't enjoy the parties NEARLY as much as her friends did -- but she was happy to provide. here she was, perched at the edge of the bed of her truck, legs kicking out as she smoked a cigarette. those things'll kill ya, or whatever their teacher said. "so --" a bold start, a grin thrown the boy's way as she leaned forward to get a GOOD LOOK at the guy.

"i hear you're gonna help boss us around on the field, huh? is that TRUE?" curiosity got the better of her because it got the better of them ALL. all the girls have been whispering about it, wondering and yet unable to actually go up and just ask this kid what the hell was going on.
