Assignment 2
I still do the same question with Assignment 1 which is Can creative acts be rebellious when rebellion has become canonized in art, design and media histories? What would a contemporary creative rebellion look like? In assignment1, I create a poster about the history had been hided and changed, however, the aim of the poster is not showing very clear. I decided to change the way to show the same topic in this assignment which is edited a real history book.
Dale Carnegie said, “History has repeatedly been changed by people who had the desire and the ability to transfer their convictions and emotions to their listeners”, it illustrates that history has always been changed by people who has power. I would like to rebel this phenomenon by edited the history book which indicates rebellion to people who change and hidden the history as well as shows how the history had been changed and hidden to the broader audience. The history book I used called “GALLIPOLI” which is a book written by John Masefield, the book is about the Gallipoli Campaign of the First Word War that took place on the Gallipoli and the book detailing the heroism truly, the horror and the disaster. Firstly, I put a big word “REBELLION” in the cover of the page which exactly shows the aim of the work and there is a hand drawing soldier with gun below try to change the original pattern of the photography. Secondly, I create the shape with words “TOP SECRET” to show the book is classified like the blanking document in the movie only shows to people with corresponding levels, then I put the red ink on the paper which looks like the blood and I used black ink for imitation the smoke of gunpowder to make the book really looks like create in the campaign. Next, I do the Sanitization step. According to my research, Sanitization is a process to remove the sensitive information from a document, then it can published to the broader audience. I used this process edited the book by blanking all the words with time, location name, country, event, data, and direction, not only I hidden all the sensitive words, but also use the correction tape change part of it like historical negationism which is illegitimate distortion of the historical record. This step exactly shows the history we know now is already been changed and hided. After that, I did the sculpture to take the few chapter out of the book which clearly indicate the part of the history had been hidden. Finally, burned the book to create the mark which looks like the baptism of war flames.
After edited the book, I put two videos together which are the original book recording and edited book recording for comparing the differences between the original book and the edited book by showing both at the same time. I put the original recording in the upper left corner and the edited recording behind, then I combined two videos together and adjust them to make sure that the pages of the book on both videos can be turned at the same time. After that, I change the vision of the original video to make it looks like older than the edited one. Next, I added the music called “Hatsukoi” which is a piano music play by the Japanese famous pianist Jou Hisaishi to make the video more interesting than before.
In conclusion, the final project achieved all the goal in the assignment by video shows the way to edit the book which indicates rebellion to people who change and hide the history.

After I recorded the original book, I started editting the book. Firstly, I cut the word “Rebellion” and paste it on the cover of the book. Secondly, I draw a soldier with gun in the center of the cover. Thirdly, I draw the shape with words “TOP SECRET”. Fourthly, I do the sculpture on the map. Fifthly, I put the red ink on the paper which looks like the blood and I used black ink for imitation the smoke of gunpowder. After that, I blacking all of the words with time, location name, country, event, data, direction to hidden the truth and use the correction tape change part of it, then destroy few pages. Next, I do the sculpture on the few chapter to hide it. Finally, I tried to burn the book to make it looks old and real.

In the assignment one, I created the poster about the history and I try to show the history has been hided and changed, however, it could not identify the idea very well through a piece of paper, I decided to do things on the real book this time.
I bought a history book called GALLIPOLI, as we know it is about the Gallipoli campaign which is a campaign of the First Word War that took place on the Gallipoli and the book truly the detailing the heroism, the horror, the disaster.
As I mentioned above, the book talks about the truth, if I do the work on it like sanitization or sculpture,I would be the man who change the history. I decided to record the original book at first, then do the work and recording again to create the video to compare and contrast how the history has been changed and hidden to identify history we know has been modified.

Historical negationism
According to my research is an illegitimate distortion of the historical record. Some countries changed the historical events to achieve the national aims demonizing the enemy or attacking the audience. There are many historical negativism such as Book burning, War crimes, Soviet history, Holocaust denial, change text book and others.

ADAD 1002 ASSESSMENT TASK 1
Final work
I choose the digital process to do the poster at first, then I print out and do the hand writing. The aim of the project is to show the history had been changed and concealed in a certain way. According to my research, government would like to hide the incident and change it at the same time, then publish the “new” history to the public. I created a book in the center of the poster and make a hole in the bottom of the book which shows the history we know from the book is not completed. It had been removed by some originations. I did the wrong spelling of the word “History” deliberately which means the history had been changed and it is not real anymore. I changed the font of the letter “o”to the half dark and the half blank that illustrate history is not pure as before. The history book is packaging by the red grid fabric which looks like the real history book old and classic. After I print out the digital process of the poster, I decide to write down the word on the blank of the paper. I choose the word “history” and translate to other languages, it shows this phenomenon is happened in many countries through the certain ways. I tried to use different kinds of pen for different languages to make the words obvious and special. Overall, I tried to show how the rebellion looks in the contemporary design through this poster.
