Merlin tried to teach Leon magic over the years, not big crazy spells but simple stuff like levitation and lighting fires.

Leon was surprisingly good at performing magic and caught on quick, but he never used it. Going so far as to deny anymore lessons from Merlin.

Merlin thought it was because Leon still have a distrust for magic after growing up being taught to hate it so he tried his hardest to show Leon that magic could be good, but Leon kept refusing to learn it.

After a while of Leon refusing to learn magic Merlin just stopped doing it in front of him, thinking it was upsetting him.

To his surprise, Leon only got more upset when he stopped doing magic.

Merlin: what do you want from me?!

Leon: what?

Merlin: you got mad when i did magic, but then you got more mad when i stopped doing magic!

Leon: I’m not mad at you for doing magic, i was mad you wanted me to learn it so much.

Merlin: ???

Leon: …if i learned magic i wouldn’t get to see you do magic as often… because i could just do it myself…

Merlin: huh?

Leon: i like seeing you do magic, you idiot.

And from that moment forward Merlin did almost every little thing using magic just so Leon could see him.

Okay, but have you ever stopped to think how INSANE Merlin should be for the people of Camelot?

"Yeah, death had a near-Merlin experience,"

"Merlin doesn't cheat death. He wins fair and square."

"Witch Morgana checks his closet every night for Merlin."

"Merlin once played Death roulette with a crossbow and won."

"Merlin was once bitten by a snake and after five days of excruciating pain, the snake died."

Then somehow the knights and Arthur heard about it and it went downhill from there.

Arthur: When Merlin enters a room, he doesn't turn the lights on, he turns the dark off.

Gwaine: Merlin doesn't have good aim. His arrows just know better than to miss.

Laneclot: Merlin actually died four years ago, but the Grim Reaper can't get up the courage to tell him.

Nobody knows, but Lancelot was telling the truth.

Okay but I absolutely love the idea of Leon somehow also being immortal just out of his pure dedication to Camelot so when Arthur does comeback its just.

Arthur: So your magic has made you immortal and you've been alive this entire time?

Merlin: Yeah, have to fulfill the prophecy and stuff so I can’t die.

Arthur: That makes sense, sort of, but there's still something I don't understand.

Merlin: What?

Arthur: HOW THE F*CK IS LEON ALIVE???

Leon: *has been quietly eating his stew* I did say I wouldn't fall until Camelot did, apparently that included Merlin.
