What you don't realize is that your God has left this world to burn a long time ago. There are those who sit back and watch - it's God's plan after all, they say, best not to question it, they say. Then there are those who try and control the fires - getting burned in the process. Just so that the religious can live in ignorance.

A playlist for every adventurer who knows they are destined to meet their end in a watery grave or at the end of a noose.
Songs for when there’s salt in the air and wind in your hair
…and songs for when you find yourself in a cold jail cell making a deal with the devil.
“If I should die out here at sea
would anyone be mourning me?
or would I leave this world unknown?
salt for salt and bone for bone”

Fun Fact: Thomas Albani was originally a Benedictine monk, but because of godamn King Henry VIII, I had to switch him to a Catholic priest.
All because a fuckboi king had to get in a dick-measuring contest with the Vatican.

I’m sick of people telling writers not to use an idea because it’s “overused” or “not original.”
A huge part of writing is making the idea your own.
Do you want to write about vampires?! THEN FOR GOD’S SAKE, WRITE ABOUT VAMPIRES!
Oh, dystopian futures are overused? PUT YOUR OWN SPIN ON IT!
Guys, don’t let people stomp on your ideas. A story is a bunch of puzzle pieces that everyone has access to - but it’s your choice how you put them together. How you put it together and how you present it makes that idea uniquely yours, even if it’s a familiar concept.
Your idea isn’t lame.
Own it.
Make it yours.

31 DAYS OF MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES //
↳ 17. Kraken
“A fierce creature with giant tentacles that’ll suction your face clean off and drag an entire ship down into the crushing darkness…the Kraken. The stench of his breath…Imagine the last thing you know on God’s green earth is the roar of the Kraken and the reeking odor of a thousand rotting corpses…If you believe such things.”

This is probably my fav song from Assassins Creed Black Flag.
And to be honest, one of my faves in general.
I like the way it sounds and have you ever really listened to the lyrics?
____________________________________________
Kind friends and companions
come join me in rhyme
come lift up your voices
in chorus with mine
come lift up your voices,
all grief to refrain
for we may or might never
all meet here again
chorus:
so here’s a health to the company
and one to my lass
let us drink and be merry
all out of one glass
let us drink and be merry
all grief to refrain
for we may or might never
all meet here again
here’s a health to the dear lass
that I love so well
for her style and for her beauty
sure none can excel
there’s a smile on her countenance
as she sits upon my knee
there is no man in this wide
world as happy as me
chorus:
so here’s a health
to the company
and one to my lass
let us drink and be merry
all out of one glass
let us drink and be merry
all grief to refrain
for we may or might never
all meet here again
our ship lies at anchor
she’s ready to dock
I wish her safe landing
without any shock
and if I ever I should
meet you by land or by sea
I will always remember
your kindness to me
chorus:
so here’s a health to the company
and one to my lass
let us drink and be merry
all out of one glass
let us drink and be merry
all grief to refrain
for we may or might
never all meet here again

I did a lyric thing for Davy Jones’ theme. Enjoy!
[Download MP3]
Lyrics:
Cruel and cold like winds on the sea
Will you ever return to me
Hear my voice sing with the tide
My love will never die
Over waves and deep in the blue
I will give up my heart for you
Ten long years I’ll wait to go by
My love will never die
Come, my love, be one with the sea
Rule with me for eternity
Drown all dreams so mercilessly
And leave their souls to me
Play the song you sang long ago
And wherever the storm may blow
You will find the key to my heart
We’ll never be apart
Wild and strong you can’t be contained
Never bound nor ever chained
Wounds you caused will never mend
And you will never end
Cruel and cold like winds on the sea
will you ever return to me
Hear my voice sing with the tide
Our love will never die

Noraline smiled again, but this time it seemed like she was forcing a smile out of contempt. “That sounds like my sister. She was always the natural born leader. She was also an excellent judge of character. Did you know she was friends with Anne Boleyn?”
“As in King Henry VIII’s second wife?” He questioned, amazed at where Lucianna ended up throughout her life.
Noraline plucked a piece of chicken from her plate with the tips of her pointed nails, twisting it around. “Yes,” she started, “She was friends with Anne before she even married that pompous King Henry. While everyone else saw a temptress who seduced the king and was after the throne, she saw a woman screaming for help. They both knew Anne couldn’t reject the King - it would be a grave insult. So Lucianna did everything she could to make life easier for Anne. She was destroyed when Anne was beheaded on obviously false claims. This was before me and her were bent on killing each other.”
