Far Away From L.A.

Story Summary: Dylan arrives ahead of production to a new filming location to get a break from L.A. It’s a small town in eastern Canada that’s remote and serene. While he’s enjoying the touch of anonymity that comes with filming in a rural town where most people couldn’t care less who he was, he meets Amelia.

Chapter 16: Trails and Treasure (Dylan POV)

It was a beautiful day, which lined up really well for the shoot. They had filmed a few scenes inside, but the last thing on Dylan’s schedule before he could leave for the day was a scene outside with Jeremy. They were setting up the lighting reflectors and testing some audio. Dylan was sitting in his chair under a sun shield, texting with Amelia.

Mia: Just pick me up when you’re done. I’m ready whenever

Dylan: I wish you’d tell me what we’re doing

Mia: That would spoil all the fun though

Dylan: Hmm. I do like fun…

Mia: Well then... hurry up and get here so we can have some 😘

Dylan: 👀

Dylan: I’ve never been more motivated to one-take anything in my life

Mia: 😂

“Alright!” Peter called, standing on a tape 'X' on the ground. “I think we’re ready to roll, guys.” The director clapped his hands and stepped back behind the monitor and sat in his chair.

Dylan tapped out one last message to Amelia:

Dylan: Duty calls! I’ll text you when I’m leaving

Eager didn’t even come close to describing how Dylan was feeling about seeing Amelia. Not after last night. He'd been driven to distraction all day. After she'd met him at the B&B, he'd packed up a bag and followed her back to her place in his car, stopping at the pharmacy at the end of the street to avoid any future condom rationing incidents.

He'd barely made it through her apartment before she had him pressed against the wall, kissing him in that perfect way she did. What an incredible night.

The way it felt to be with her, wrapped up in her. The feeling of her body moving with his, the sound of her voice whispering and calling his name. She tore him apart, limb from limb, and he loved every second of it.

He'd always been imaginative, and in this moment it was practically a torturous quality. He could still feel the steaming water of the shower they'd shared running down his back. Could still feel how silky the skin of her own had felt against his chest while he gently scrubbed her body with a sudsy loofah. Was still tickled by her wet hair sticking to his shoulder as she laid her head against him when he dropped the soft, soapy ball at their feet and touched her with his bare hands.
