Photo From NYT - Erica Deeman San Francisco , CA
Self - Portrait Diptych
Both these photos explore the use of a collage , not only that but like me and many others all over the world, Erica was in quarintine and took these shots in her room ,(using a Fuji Instax - type of instant camera) , I used a Canon Canonet GIII QL17 - B&W Film. Much like Erica I never really spent much time in my room prior to the lockdown as I really haven’t had a reason to other than when I needed to be. I was able to use this space to just focus on myself and things I am interested in like photography and I’ve been able to grow immensely. Most importantly , like Erica mentioned , I’ve been able to focus on “Self Reflection” , I say this would be the most important part of what she said due to the fact that if we don’t take the time to reflect on our actions whether they be good or bad , you can’t expect to grow at all. But if you want to , you should definitely start thinking about finding a place to base your shame , the things it can do for you for sure outweigh any of the negativity brought on from ideas that we can’t fulfill our anticipations.
