Cyrus increased his speed once he noticed the other slowing down, eventually beginning to walk beside him. “I can’t really tell any more. some people are super old and look like they’re young and sometimes there are young children dressing up to act old. well, from what I’ve seen… I just wanted to make sure.”

“Yeah alright, now it makes sense...I’m less offended now. don’t you worry, i’m above the drinking age.” danny told him with a laugh, continuing to lead them in the direction of the bar. “I’m danny by the way.”

maddie felt a ping of relief at the sight of someone from her era, but the anxiety pumping in her veins was still dominant. “how do you cope with something like this?! i feel like i’m gonna faint. i just.. don’t like it here,” she ended off her words with a subtle pout. “like.. just what exactly are these people wearing?! stuff like this were nowhere in the catalogs. i do not approve,” she glanced at the clothing of several people who walked past them with a look of distaste on her features. “hi danny.. i’m madison. maddie for short.”

“it takes a little while to get used to everything...i’ll stick around until you get the hang of it alright?” danny told her with a smile, trying to ease her as much as he could at that point. “if it makes you feel any better, i know of a ‘thrift’ store, basically it sells really old clothes and you’ll be able to find something that’s more to your liking. do you have any plans for the day?” he asked, giving her another smile. “it’s nice to meet you, maddie.”

danny caught sight of the blonde and made his way over to her, remembering how he was when he first had to deal with the change. “trust me, i was the same way.” he told her with a laugh, from the sound of it they were both from the same time, so luckily for her he could be a decent job with helping her out. “you get used to it, but i still have my days when the fashion just seems...out of place.” he let out another laugh. “i can probably help, i’m danny.”

“…am i in hell?” were the first words the blonde managed to utter, her quivering bottom lip making it clear that she was edging towards a panic attack. “this has got to be a dream.. i’m totally buggin’.” the distraught woman wandered around the streets, gaining a few stares and looks from the inhabitants of the unfamiliar town, some of which shared the same confused expression as her. “where is the plaid? the mesh tops? the scrunchies?! somebody pinch me, i’m in a hell full of fashion victims!” she cried out, a whiny tone taking control of her words.

“it takes a little while to get used to, but trust me it’s pretty self explanatory. want some help?”

     “when i woke up today, i made myself a cup o’ joe and found an iphone outside my door. what in the name of winston churchill is an iphone?”

“Aren’t Americans basically aliens to begin with? I doubt it would be any worse,” Alec wonders out loud, only half joking. “Play at your own risk– I ain’t gonna be taking your ass to the hospital if you get alcohol poisoning.”

“I wouldn’t classify myself as an alien, what’s your beef with americans?” he asked, following his question with a laugh. “you really don’t think i can keep up with you? i can play a good game, don’t you worry.”

cyrus began reminiscing about  parties he went to before he would be deployed (and where eventually meet his demise) to japan. he didn’t even get a single word out because the younger man left before he could agree, he followed suit. “hey kid, where we headed, and are you even old enough to drink?” the older man questioned, and then he could hear his heart beat in his ears- remembering why he had arrived, and realized it was probably the same for him too.

“of course i’m old enough to drink.” danny said with a laugh. “the bar’s just further down the street.” he said, continuing to walk, but slowing his pace just a bit so the other man would be able to catch up to him. “do i seriously look that young?”

An amused chuckles escaped her lips, “I don’t think that has changed. Maybe we’ll even get into a nice bar brawl.” It was normal for Marguerite to get into fights; she basically grew up with her fists constantly raised and that hadn’t really changed over the course of her past life. Even though people are more tolerant in this century, the hope to throw a few bottles at some asshole will never die. 

“only if we’re lucky.” he laughed back at her. “yeah, have you been in many bar fights?” he questioned the brunette. using he question, he let his eye wander over the brunette, to him it seemed like she could hold her own if she needed to. not to mention the fact that she looked like someone he’d enjoy spending time with. “right this way.” he stated, leading the way down the street.

sofia came to a STOP , cocking her head to the side as she looked the male over , “ you tell me , do they ? “ she had no idea , but she had yet to check out any of the bars here and his company seemed decent enough. she took a few steps closer to him , “ i’m GAME , “ she agreed but she hesitated as he began down the street but after a few moments she was following after him on her high heels as quick as she could. “ WAIT up , “ she called after him , “ where are we going ? “

“you can definitely take this an an invite.” danny said with a smile, giving himself a moment to look the girl over. he thought she seemed like fair company, and it was a plus for him if she exceeded his expectations. he slowed his pace so she’d be able to keep up with him better, “the bar? did you want to drink privately?”

‘ uh, EXCUSE ME ! it would be a privilege to be going home with me, i’ll have you know.’ he scoffed playfully. lance gave a shrug, ‘ i don’t see why not. think i’m gonna lay low for a bit this time. i’m trying not to splurge on money anymore. i gotta start saving up ‘cause i either blow my paycheck on shots or new threads. it’s not healthy, man.’

“Says you. You hog the bed and you don’t even cuddle with me.” he teased, before laughing. “Laying low is fine with me, I just needed to make sure I had my wingman with me.”  Danny said in between laughs as he walked down the street. “It’s not healthy, but you can’t forget to live a little too.”

“That would be the point where we know they’ve all been replaced by aliens.” Which, to be completely honest, wasn’t something Alec was ruling out. “More of a warning, but I’m not gonna discourage you from taking it as a challenge.”

“That would be awful, then we’d have to hit on aliens for fun.” Danny laughed, he definitely preferred humans. “I think I can keep up with you, so it may have to be a challenge.”

Ella hesitated for a moment. “I’m almost certain you’re going to believe me to be the most tedious person in the world when I tell you this but… I’ve never really had the chance to’go out for a drink’. “

“Seriously? Never?” the sound of disbelief in his voice was certain. “Would you be willing to go for one now then? I think everyone deserves the experience.”

“They can’t change that much.” Alec is already pulling his jacket on– he hears drinks and he’s interested, that’s something the 21st century isn’t gonna take away. “It’s, like, human nature or some shit. But y’all Americans can’t keep up worth shit, so…”

“How can people just stop loving to drink, right? It’s impossible.” Danny began leading the way to the nearest bar that he knew of. “Oh really?” He said, slightly tilting his head. “Is that a challenge?”

‘ nah man, i dig it. but it depends on where you wanna get these drinks. i can’t tell you how many times i almost got a pounding in the face for accidentally stepping in between’s someone else’s fight. it’s ridiculously trashy, ’ lance mumbled, following the other’s lead. and GOD FORBID he woke up from the dead only to get his PRETTY face all fucked up. 

He shrugged a bit before nodding his head, “Fair. Protecting our faces is my main priority, so we’re going to steer clear of fights. I don’t want to be stuck going home with you again.” the boy laughed as he looked over at his friend, a playful tone filling his voice. “What about the one we passed the other night?” Danny was already leading the way there, figuring his friend was going to follow no matter what.

“People still invite others to go out for drinks right?” The boy let out a laugh before shrugging his shoulders a bit. “Dude, I say we go anyway. How can that not always cause a good time? Come on.” He began as he headed down the street, remembering that there was a local bar close by.

Danny was looking through one of the racks at the thrift store, not even entirely knowing what he was searching for when a sudden voice saved him from his inner boredom. He looked up, eyes meeting hers, “Haven’t even taken me out for dinner and you want my help with your bra? I’m not going to say no, but you owe me.” He gave her a smile, a playful tone filling his voice. 

“c’mon,” she mumbled under her breath, nimble fingers growing red and sore with every passing second. she picked at the fabric of a lacy party dress she found on the clothing rack closest to the door, mumbling curses underneath her breath. one of the clasps on her push-up bra hooked into the dress, deeming it impossible to actually try on or take off. seeing as she was getting absolutely NOWHERE, she pushed her head in-between the two curtains that served as a door to the dressing room, eyeing the only other person in the small thrift shop. “hey,” she called out, blue hues meeting with the other. “I am TRAPPED by my bra. could you come in and help me out?”

“Perhaps it’s time to take up cooking? Come on, there has to be a place you haven’t tried yet that can sort of live up to the expectations of mighty england.”

“Dude...how many times do I have to tell you, don’t get blazed without me.” The boy chuckled a bit as he turned his head in Kenny’s direction. “Do you actually have any this time or am I going to need to share?” Danny began digging around in his jacket pockets and smiled softly as he pulled out a plastic baggie.

kenny had just gotten off his shift at the LOCAL bar he had managed to acquire a bartending position at , but had yet to leave. he was going to get as man free beers down as he could before heading back to his SHITTY apartment. he sighed as he dragged hands down his face , “ i need some bud before i go insane , “ he whined out loud.
