Say you break your ankle. You could know everything there is to know intellectually about the injury. Even with this vast knowledge, you will still experience physical pain.

Now take this logic and apply it to things like ADHD, autism, clinical depression, and other less visible/divergent disabilities. You cannot think your way out of feeling.

That is to say: you are not a bad, lazy, or selfish person for struggling, even if you know why you are struggling.

I remember reading 1984 and asking my teacher about the woman hating undertones and she was surprised because... nobody had ever asked that? The main character wanted to rape a woman and bash her head with a brick the moment he orgasmed and nobody was ever like “aw geez that sounds like misogyny”

Women are raised to learn about historical figures who were “great men” who raped, beat, and at minimum held women as subservient.

Women are raised to learn about “incredible artists” who cheated, beat, or belittled women around them.

Women are raised to learn about “brilliant philosophers” who spoke of womens inferiority, referenced us as breeding stock, or altogether counted us out as animals.

Women are raised to learn about “genius minds” who stole from, degraded, or rose at the expense of women of their time.

Women are raised to learn about “influential authors” who wrote down about women, were pedophilic to girls, or abused their wives.

Women are taught to sacrifice, forgive, scar - because why would you dare keep a man from his greatness?

Why don’t men sell sex? Why don’t men strip? Why don’t men rip their hair out and walk on tiptoe? Why don’t men expect sex to hurt or make them bleed? Why don’t men like to be spat on or slapped or strangled or receive “consensual non-consent”? Why don’t men get exchanged for cattle or goats? Why don’t men smother themselves head to toe in layers of opaque fabric in hot countries? Why don’t men become financially dependent on women? Why do men not want to feel empowered?

I really do recommend reading S.C.U.M. Manifesto if you haven’t.

I studied political philosophy in college. I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into writings by men who truly believed women were sub-human sex animals; truly believed it and thought that belief was divine brilliance. I don’t flinch at these anymore, but it’s hard to get through the misandrist manifesto. Even at its peak, it is not one tenth as degrading, dehumanizing, violent, as what “great thinkers” wrote of women. We are more desensitized to our own dehumanization than we know.

Autism Speaks fought against and killed a bill (1047) that:

- was meant to ensure school staff would be trained to support nonspeaking students before school starts

- would protect nonspeaking students who need AAC from segregation

- would prevent the use of IQ tests to deny access to AAC

IDEA is supposed to put these protections in place, but they don’t happen. This bill was brought forth because nonspeaking students are still being unfairly segregated and not offered AAC at all.

Teachers want to support nonspeaking people! They want the training!

And Autism Speaks just killed the bill that would help so many nonspeaking people.

So tell me again how they’re so great, because once more they are silencing autistic voices.

Autism Speaks doesn’t want nonspeaking autistic people to speak because it will break the carefully crafted tragedy narrative they’ve built up and struggle to maintain.

Susan Douglas’ “Enlightened Sexism” was such a revelation, and idk if she was the first to coin the term but it is such a useful term and concept (”Now that we’re all equal and enlightened, we have no need to criticise sexism anymore”). Because in this day and age, where the idea of feminism is pretty mainstream, most of sexism you see won’t be “stupid women are emotionally stunted and looks obsessed who secretly don’t want a career and just want to catch and tempt men…and that’s bad.” it’ll be “Women are SO POWERFUL and CLEVER the way they manipulate men with their looks and now that we know how powerful and equal women are we can just admit that they’re charming emotional wrecks who just want to land a man and be pretty.” Sexist spin will change with the times so it is so important to know how to recognise how the same sexist messaging will be spun differently.

Piv sex is not gay. Never has been, never will be. The reason homosexuals have been demonized for so long is because our sex isn’t PIV. That’s why religious homophobes view it as an “Abomination,” because we couldn’t have sex the same way straight people did. It’s why Lesbians were called “Carpetmunchers” and why Gay men were called “Fudgepackers” and “Cocksuckers.”

To imply that PIV sex can be gay is deeply homophobic and offensive.
