Tips for writing spells:
If you want to keep something close, bury it in your back yard. If you want to attract something, bury it under the front door step If you want to destroy its influence, burn it. If you want it to move away and sink, throw it in running water If you want to disperse it to a distance, throw it into a crossroads If you want to fix its influence, inter it in a five-spot pattern If you want it to work by means of spirits, bury it in a graveyard If you want to hide its point of origin, conceal it in a tree If you want it to work in secret, give it in food or drink If you want it to work by stealth, hide it in clothing or on objects If you want its influence to begin or strengthen, throw it East If you want its influence to end or weaken, throw it West If you want its influence to rise and fall cyclicly, float it in a tidal estuary

Inga's Great Big List of Curses (Sorted by degrees of extreme)
All of my curses are “Once and done” curses, that is to say, you cast it, and then you’re done, you don’t need to shake a jar every few weeks or renew them.
Teeny Tiny Curses for inconsiderate and rude people, especially neighbors.
By the Gods, may you smash your shins or toes off every piece of furniture in your room on your way to the bathroom tonight
Because you ruined my night with your party, may you be faced with a hangover that ruins your day tomorrow
For ruining my evening out, may you thrice over bite the inside of your mouth
Because the words coming out of your mouth were poisonous, may your lose your voice to speak these things
You thought your lewd comments smooth, so may you stumble upon every step you come across
Your actions have cost me essential time, so when time is of the essence may something essential be missing for you. (Also “I hope the next time you’re in a hurry you can’t find your fucking keys”)
Slightly Larger curses for people who are belligerent and really get under your skin, or who have wronged you intentionally
For every coin you pilfer, may a wart grow upon your flesh (For added potency, catch a frog/toad and then cast this)
(Boil a pot of water) Your pretty face sews deceit, so for each lie you tell may your skin break out in boils.
(Turn on every light in the house) You steal and lie by the dark of night, so may you be wracked by migraines sensitive to light
(Throw a coin into a river, or, if lacking in rivers, flush down the toilet) May the wealth you seek by any means necessary flow away from you faster than a rushing river.
(Find a piece of clothing that needs patched, and sew shut a hole) Your open mouth is like wound, oozing lies and trickery, may yours words come back to prick you like a needle, and sew that mouth shut.
(Pull a weed and grind it beneath your heel) Like a poison you have rooted in my life, and so may you be uprooted and ground beneath the heel of another, so you may know the feeling.
Really Big Curses for assholes who have straight up fucked up your life, and deserve to pay hell for it (Specifically people like stalkers, rapists, abusers, bullies etc)
(Light a jar candle, and snuff it, then cover it with something heavy, that does not allow the smoke to escape) For you have tried to take my (or you can say someone else’s name if you cast it in their name) light, my air, and my ability to breathe, may you suffocate, in darkness, with a weight upon your chest. (I have used this and the person I cast it on developed chronic sleep paralysis)
(Buy an apple and a $2 box of sewing pins from Walmart. Pierce the apple with every pin in the box and dwell on the ways this person has wronged you. Throw into the garbage to rot.) With these pins I return to you the pains that you have caused me. May each and every pain be returned to you in full, and may you rot faster than the flesh of a ruined apple.
(Get a balloon, manipulate it in your hands, and as you seal this curse pop it) Your strength you used against me, your power used to wound me. May what holds you together fail you when you need it most. (Pop the balloon- works amazingly on sexual abusers)
I will probably add to this post later.

How a witch interact with the genius loci and the spirits of the lands where she or him dwells?
As always, I’m not a witch, and so I feel like if you’re looking for something strictly “traditional witchcraft”, I should say that up front. I should also say that I’m going to answer this from a rural perspective. That said, I’ve lived in citys. I’ve worked with spirits of places in cities. If you’re looking for something more specific to that, I can talk about that (it doesn’t look much different, but the locations are different).
If you’re not me and a forest is not your backyard, you’ll find hiking trails a good place to start. Get a map of the trail. You ever notice how when you’re hiking you sometimes come to a spot that seems like an event? Go for a hike and notice when that happens. Sometimes its a fork in the trail. Sometimes it’s a little side trail that leads to a cool rock. More obvious sites are overlooks, river crossings, rock formations, caves etc. Notice when it happens and take note of it on the map when you come to the places that arrest you. Stop and spend time there. Drink water. Offer the water to the spirits that dwell there. Hike out. Notice everything. Now do it again, but this time when you get to the spot you took note of, offer your water and some smoke (tobacco works, weed is good, herbal smoking blends that are not weed are also good – whatever you feel is appropriate) and stay there. Sit, preferably on the ground, and don’t think about anything in particular. Notice what you’re hearing and smelling and seeing and feeling. Allow those sensations to coalesce. Sometimes the interaction will happen while you’re sitting and not thinking and noticing. Sometimes you’ll sit there for who know how long, think, “this was a bust” and then open your eyes to see some shit. Or sometimes it happens when you’re hiking out. See what happens and go from there. If you do have an interaction, it’s good to leave something – flowers or fruits or nuts (biodegradable things please). Do this consistently, or as consistently as you can. You’ll deepen your understanding of these spirits and learn what their abilities are. If your offerings are nice, they may become your allies. The same procedure would work just as well in your backyard, or in a public park or wherever. Overpasses and railway trestles used to be some of my favorites when I was a city-dweller. Go for a walk and notice what places seem like events and then waggle your brain tentacles around in there and see what comes up.

the best makeshift incense that’ll blow ur fucking mind.
alright sisters, lets get straight into it. to make this, roll up a small piece of paper into a tube. fold one end shut, and fill it up with any non poisonous herb (like lavender or frankincense). lodge that bitch in a pair of tweezers (use skewers and rubber bands if u donthave tweezers), with the folded end pointed down, then balance it over a fireproof bowl like so:
Tumblr media
now light the end of the stick thats pointed down. blow it out after five seconds. the smoldering paper and herbs will release a sweet smoke, and any ashes will drop straight into the fireproof jar. congratu-fucking-lations, you made incense.
some witchy tips for this:
- burn secific herbs for different intentions, like chamomile for peace, jasmine for dreams, sage for cleansing etc.
- mark the paper with sigils
- use the ashes to make black salt, or for spell powders
have fun and dont burn ur house down!

Thoughts On Fate
I’ve recently thought a lot about how negative the personifications of fate are and have been in history.
As a child, I learned a lot about religion and the differences and similarities that many religions have and share. Something that always stuck in my mind was the image of the Fates from Greek and Roman mythology. In the Disney movie Hercules they’re portrayed as old hags who share an eye and are generally negative portrayals of fate and destiny. So, as a child, I think that shaped how I viewed fate a lot.
It sounds silly, but when I listening to the Adventure Zone my view of fate changed drastically.
There’s a character in the podcast named Istus, the Goddess of Fate and Destiny. In the DnD universe, she is also portrayed somewhat negatively. In the Adventure Zone, she is an influential character who is essentially good and kind hearted. I latched onto this portrayal of fate (again it sounds silly) and I actively worship Lady Istus.
The refreshing feeling of having a portrayal of an unstoppable force be a good and kind one was new and important for me, spiritually. Seeing the Fates and how they are almost always shown to be mean, unapologetic, and against the “heroes” creates a terribly morbid view of life. Sure, in many stories the heroes overcome their fate and create their own destiny, but the only reason they have to do that is because the portrayal of fate and destiny is so negative and nihilistic. So, with a portrayal of fate who is at their core neutral, but on your side if you’re willing to trust them, it gives new, fresh meaning to following the whims of fate.
In terms of alignment, I fall between lawful and true neutral. I relate very heavily to Lady Istus’ generally neutral alignment. I wish to follow the laws of nature, as long as I and the people I love are safe. I sometimes feel worried for the future, so I turn to Lady Istus to give me hope and reassure me that, in her hands, it will all work out. And sometimes I ask her for things, to make things go well, and in return I offer my time to her.
Witchcaft has been helpful for me to realize that, in doing spells of any kind, we are asking of Fate to help us, and in return we give our time and love to her.
Just a few thoughts on fate.

How to get on good terms with the local spirits
From my experience… so it’s pretty plant-focused.
Pick up trash.
Give some water to the plants occasionally, especially during hot and dry days.
Flatter them. If you think a plant is really pretty, you can just say it out loud and they will love it.
Pay attention to which areas are off-limits and avoid them. Try to feel if you get bad vibes in a certain place and stay out of them so you don’t piss off the locals.
Give in return for whatever you take. Even if you’re just weeding, pour out some water or leave coins.
Reduce waste. Whatever you don’t use, give back to the land. You can make a compost pile, or toss scraps of plants into the yard so they can decompose and bring new life.
Don’t mow your lawn, if it’s possible for you to avoid it. If you have to, give a warning beforehand, or make an offering in apology to the plants.

A Guide To Spellwriting
INTENT The intent of a spell is its end goal, what it will do, specifically. Overall, intent can be vague, with “love”, “binding”, and “luck” all good examples. When writing a spell, though, we want to get more specific. What about love? What about luck? Perhaps instead, “increasing self love” or “making dice rolls in tabletop RPG’s more favorable” instead. This is to give the spell caster something specific to focus energy on, and to make it very clear to the universe what we want to happen.
TARGET The target of a spell is who or what the spell will take effect on. Is your target one specific person? A family? A city? A country? The world? Yourself? A pet? A plant? Your favorite pair of shoes? Knowing the target helps us further focus our energy, and really pinpoints where we want to see our spell take effect.
TIMING Is there a specific time of the year, month, week, or day you want your spell to take place? Are you using a specific day of the week’s intent? A moon phase? A specific sort of weather? How will when the spell is cast effect the outcome? Will it effect the outcome at all?
LOCATION Where will you cast the spell? Do you want to be at an altar? Can it be on the go? Should it be a natural setting like the forest or the beach? Will the location of the casting impact the outcome?
MATERIALS What will you use in the spell? Your spell can have as many or as few materials or ingredients as you wish, and you can have none if you like. Each spell item and ingredient should have a purpose, and support your overall intent. You’d not want a money-associated ingredient in a love spell without first checking why that’s there, and making that clear in your spell. If we throw it in at random, we could end up diluting and muddling the intent, or worse, end up attracting someone who only wants us for our money!
PREPARATION Do any of the materials need to be prepared or placed in a certain way before your spell? Do you need a tarot card propped up, a candle carved, or a circle cast? Do you want to be freshly bathed before your spell? Do you want to fast for a day before your spell? Why? How do you want your space and your self prepared for your spell?
METHOD Here is the actual spell! How are you going to cast? Generally, the idea is to build up (raise) energy focused on your intent, then cast that energy away, aiming it at your target, but this is the place to get really creative, and you can throw that idea out the window should you choose. Do you want a jar spell? A knot spell? A full ritual? A single word? How will you get your intent out into the universe? How will you focus your spell on your target? Moreover, consider how you’ll end your spell; firmly make it clear where the spell-casting ends, and the spell is officially cast.
GROUNDING You may want to include a method to return to normal after a spell, and re-settle your energy, especially if things get intense with your spell, or a lot of energy moves around. Your grounding method can be as complex as a full on grounding exercise, or as simple as watching a funny video and having a snack. How are you exiting the spell-casting mindset?
DISPOSAL Now that your spell is done, you may have physical items that need to be disposed of. After all, we can’t just have ashes and herbs laying around forever. When describing how to clean up after a spell, specifically consider if anything needs to be kept for the spell to continue working. After that, focus on how to dispose of each item in an incredibly earth friendly manner. Remember that salt is awful for nature, and will prevent plants from being able to grow, that glass and metal and plastic are NOT biodegradable, and that not all that is good for humans is good for animals. Don’t be a jerk to the earth and the universe right after asking it a favor!
SAFETY!!!! No matter what you do or don’t do of the above, be sure to be safe! If summoning any entities, be sure to know how to banish them should they become problematic. If using fire, utilize fire safety, and never abandon something even if it’s only producing embers. If using something sharp, utilize the safety circle, and ensure no one is within reach of the sharp edge. There is NO EXCUSE to neglect safety when spell writing, and it should always be considered, especially in spells you’re sharing with others. One can never assume that everyone else knows all they do!

Translated Inari Norito #1: Inari Norito (稲荷祝詞)
The translator was able to translate two of the Inari norito that I have. I have formatted the first one, Inari Norito (稲荷祝詞), into a printable sheet which you may download: US Letter A4
The sheet includes the prayer in its original form (with furigana), in romaji, and with English translation. I am releasing the sheet and its contents into public domain (do whatever you want with it). Note that due to the unique kotodama of the norito, it is best to recite the original. The translation is meant to give an idea of the meaning. However, you can certainly recite both!
Although I have extensively checked and rechecked the original and romaji against numerous sources (both textual and audio), an error is still possible – if you see one, please let me know!
I will format and post the second norito tomorrow!
Here are a couple of links where you can listen to this norito being recited: Link 1 Link 2
Finally, here is the text of the norito in romaji and the translated English, below:
Inari Norito
Kakemakumo kashikoki Inari no Ōkami no ō mae ni Kashikomi kashikomi mo maosaku
Ashita ni yūbe ni isoshimi tsutomuru Ie no nariwai wo Yurumu koto naku Okotaru koto naku
Iya susume susume tamai Iya tasuke ni tasuke tamaite
Iekado takaku Fuki oko sashime tamai Kakiwa ni tokiwa ni inochi nagaku
Uminoko no yasotsuzuki ni itaru made Ikashi yaguwae no gotoku Tachi sakaeshime tamai
Ie ni mo mi ni mo Magakami no magakoto ara shime zu Ayamachi okasu koto no aramu o ba Kamunaohi ōnaohi ni minaoshi kikinaoshi mashite
Yo no mamori Hi no mamori ni mamori Sakiwae tamae to Kashikomi kashikomi mo maosu
Inari Prayer
In awe before the great kami Inari, With apprehension and reverence, I humbly speak.
From morning to night, I will apply myself. I will neither slacken in my profession, Nor be neglectful.
I humbly ask: Bestow upon me more encouragement, And help me with support.
Lift my family, Bringing us firm and unchanging long life.
Grant my descendants for many generations prosperity, Like a tree, growing thicker and thicker.
Protect my home and my body from the twisted deeds of malicious kami. If I commit an error or transgression, Correct me in my ways. Rectify my sight, and rectify my hearing.
Protect me at night and protect me during the day, And grant me happiness. With apprehension and awe, I humbly speak.

It’s important to stay grounded in the real world. Everyday magic is good for this sort of thing.
I need to interact with my tarot deck more: Summer has told me to do a daily reading, to prevent me from getting stuck. She’s very practically helpful like that.
Mundane witch tips!
-when you’re about to sneeze, picture the negative energy going out of you
-when showering, take in that energy from the water! Water contains lots of energy!
-don’t have time to/forget to bless your tea when you make it? Bless the box of teabags with the intent on the energy being released when the tea is brewed bing bang you’re done, time saved
-GROUND YOURSELF ONCE A DAY MINIMUM, TRUST ME
-enchant you’re jewelry for whatever mood or purpose you’re feeling that day
-cleanse your crystals every once in a while
-meditate for five minutes when you are feeling bored
-for my witches who wear glasses, put a spell on them to prevent you from dropping them!
-send a little positive energy into a pen at a bank/office so when the next person picks it up they get a little pick me up, for a little pay-it-forward kindness
-glamours are great spells to put into sunglasses
-brush yourself to rid of negative energy when you’re feeling stressed
-put a lil essential oil in whatever school textbook you dread most to help you feel more positive towards the subject
-protect yourself daily, especially my empaths out there!
-touch your tarot deck/ shuffle it to stay in tune with it’s and your energy even if you don’t do a reading that day
-sigils on shaving razors so that you won’t cut yourself while shaving
-open your third eye when divining
-pick up those heads up pennies you find for good luck
hope this helps! feel free to add something! (Just give me credit and don’t delete my tags when reblogging)

Quote
Demonstrably, sex with otherworldly teaching spirits is a pancultural shamanic experience, from the serpent god who is lover to the miko of Japan to Siberian shamanism and, as I argue, the sabbat congress of devil and witch who are our most congruent cultural archetypes. The teaching angels of the Enochic tradition were assimilated with indigenous European myths and encounter experiences. As the imperial religion of Christianity gained dominance over pagan and animistic beliefs, such problematic epiphanies would become scripted by the inquisitors. Native concepts of faery and familiar are where the origins of European witchcraft reside. The teaching encounter has a sexual component, and is given in particular, though not exclusively, to women. Many of the witchcraft myths that cite the fallen angels are therefore etiologies for the experience of direct teachings from divine beings.
