2018 Winter NAMM Show - Day 4 - #DunnaVlog

It's Day 4 of my trip to the 2018 Winter NAMM Show!! I'm taking you on the journey of my first visit to the NAMM Show in Anaheim!

Day 4 of the trip means Day 3 of the NAMM show and I finally made my way into the convention centre to check out some of the cool new gear and technology innovations! Some of my favourite things included:

1. Keith McMillen Instruments    * New Drum Pad and Keyboard with cool aftertouch and modulation. 2. Soyuz Microphones Tube Mic 3. Warm Audio Mastering EQ

After a long day on the Winter NAMM Show floor, the Resonate Music School And Studio crew went to the TEC Awards and watched some of the best gear and audio productions receive awards!

The NAMM Show is known best for all of its incredible releases and advances in musical instruments, technology, pro audio and of course... amazing performances! However, there is also an incredible amount of education and networking that happens with all of the amazing musicians and music industry professionals.

The Meaning of Christmas is a bit different in my mind than what some people may think! **Stay to the end for Jingle Bells!!**

Christmas time is here again and that inevitably brings along the debate of the true meaning of Christmas. I have been around the block as far as my Christmas beliefs and have landed on something that I think makes the world a better place and ultimately serves us all.

It's Christmas 2017 and Megan and I are spending Christmas at home this year. We have all of our separate family Christmases planned but it will be so nice to spend a nice quiet Christmas together this year. We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, Holiday Season, or whatever you prefer. Be jolly, happy, merry, and all those good things!

People seem to be confused by Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and other Crowdfunding websites. Do you really get how it works??

Crowdfunding can be an amazing way for a new company or individual to get a product or project up off the ground but it seems like people don't fully comprehend what they are doing when they back a campaign on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or any other Crowdfunding site. The bottom line is that this is different than just online shopping. I've had great crowdfunding experiences and not so great ones as well. But I always understood the chances I was taking.

Finally!! I got a new Macbook Pro | Music Video, Studio Clean & First Impressions - #DunnaVlog 42

*I have been waiting for many years to upgrade from my nearly useless 2009 MacBook Pro and I finally got a new MacBook Pro!! BUT FIRST!! I have to clean up the studio 😂*

I can't wait to dig into using this new MacBook Pro more but even after only having it for a few days my experience has been amazing! There is definitely an incredible difference when you upgrade from a computer that's almost 10 years old and barely works to something thats brand new and seemingly moves at warp speed!

Should I Switch from iPhone to Android? | iPhone X release - #DunnaVlog 40

Is it finally time? Should I finally switch from the iPhone to Android now that the iPhone X is released?

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a pretty big apple fan boy and I have been for quite a while. But last week, apple released their brand new iPhone X and for the first time, instead of making me want to upgrade my iPhone, its making me consider getting an android.

With the iPhone 8 and iPhone X out now, it has made it more and more obvious that apple is no longer the front runner in new innovation with mobile devices. While these phones are incredible, it might be time to consider some of the other equally incredible options that exist in the Android universe.

I have now had the Air by Crazybaby bluetooth earbuds for just over a month and have had some time to do a bunch of testing and trials with them. The long and short of it is that there are some good things about these headphones and some really unfortunately bad things about these headphones.

30 Things I've Learned In 30 Years - #DunnaVlog 38

It wasn't hard to come up with 30 things I've learned in 30 years. 30 years is a long time to learn things. It has a funny feeling to it to turn thirty. You're not old, but you're not young either. You know lots but you still feel like there is so much yet to learn. You feel like you've spent the last 30 years trying to figure out who you are but you still have so much more to sort out. When you wake up on the morning of your 30th birthday, you don't feel much different than when you were 29. I thought I might be able to show some guidance to those still approaching the years where they have these same experiences by outlining 30 important things I've learned in the last 30 years. 30 Things I've Learned In 30 Years

1. Holding hands is good 2. Communication is unbelievably important, and we suck at it 3. You’re the only thing in the way of getting what you want 4. You don’t have to be friends with anyone you don’t want to. Period. 5. You should still be nice and be respectful to EVERYONE! 6. It’s important to surround yourself with people that you like and look up to 7. There’s a fine line between trusting too much and not enough 8. Cats are pretty cool (but mine is the best) 9. Habits are more important than accomplishments 10. Accomplishments come with good habits 11. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind but turning the other cheek leaves your other cheek vulnerable. It’s situational be smart and use your judgement. 12. Most people aren’t evil, they just have different values than you. 13. I haven’t done many drugs, but coffee is the best one by far. 14. The benefits of healthy living far outweigh the costs. 15. Life is rarely black and white, it’s a whole pile of grey and colours and shades. 16. A song can change everything good or bad 17. Change always starts internally and works outwards 18. Frozen hashbrown patties in the toaster is incredibly convenient and delicious 19. Going for walks is so much better than you think it should be 20. Mom and dad were probably right most of the time... 21. If you don’t take care of you, how are you going to take care of anyone else 22. Do your passions. And if you lose that passion, move on. 23. It’s ok if you don’t know what you’re passionate about, it will show up. 24. Don’t be late for stuff, and if you are, make sure that you express how sorry you are. It makes a big difference 25. Get more sleep 26. Go to bed earlier so you can get up earlier. Early mornings are super peaceful. 27. Feeling productive and accomplished feels very similar to feeling rested. Decide which one you really need. 28. Love yourself... you’re awesome! 29. Strive for greatness. 30. This one is weirdly a surprise for some people... be nice to people. 31. Your life is yours to do with as you please. No one can tell you what it should or shouldn’t be. There might not always be a QUICK way to change things but there’s always a way.

Dunna Did It

Its the Biggest, Comfiest, Unboxing Ever! And it all starts with a journey to Ikea!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have been waiting and planning for 3 or 4 years now to replace our couch (which was a great couch, but just didn't fit our style anymore) and we finally got to do it! It had to be the perfect time, and it had to be the perfect couch and we finally found that balance. So after many days... nay... weeks of research and scouting, we made the trek down to our local IKEA superwarehouse megastore and began the process of retrieving our new, super comfy, super practical, Friheten Sofa-bed with storage compartment (#notanad). The journey was long, as we had to remove several large items from the van in which we would be taking the adventure. Nonetheless, we persevered and made it to the Swedish furniture superstore. After much deliberation and looking at perfectly set up 325 square foot apartments that only exist in New York and Japan, we found the couch we had been looking for. We gathered the appropriate materials and only met one foe when I fought off a cardboard box with my bare hands. With much difficulty we made the journey back home and unboxed and unboxed until we could unbox no more. Then our fearless leader q-bert the cat went on to build the couch to purrfection. Now we look back upon our journey and smile as we think about the day when our small assembly of heroes conquered IKEA.

Make Your Videos Better Instantly | How To Cut & Sync Video to Music

Today we’re going to be talking about how you can make your videos better instantly by editing your video clips to music!

Syncing your video edits to the beat of the music is something that EVERY video creator should have in their bag of tricks. It can take a bland, uninspired video and turn it into something that you can't turn away from. Every new clip feels like it was inspired by something that the musician was feeling and the song will feel like it was made just for that sequence. Here’s how you do it!

Note: I chose to do this in Adobe Premiere Pro but it will work in any editing software!

BONUS TIP! --➤ Syncing titles to your music can add another edge to your videos. Check out the sequence at the end of the tutorial to see what I'm talking about!

​Are You Setting Goals Right? - #DunnaVlog 35

​ How many times in your life have you been told how important setting goals is? How many times have you been told how to set smart goals? I’m here to tell you that there is more to setting goals than everyone has been telling you.

How many dank #squadgoals memes have you scrolled on Instagram? I realize those posts aren’t really about goal setting but aside from those pieces of social fodder we are constantly being told how to set goals and achieve them. But goal setting in life isn’t everything that people have been saying it is! We’ve been putting way too much weight on achieving goals and not learning who we are, why we set goals, WHICH goals we should be actually setting.
