Glalie: #362 (Evolves from Snorunt)

US/UM Pokédex entries:

US:  When it spews stupendously cold air from its broken mouth, the entire area around it gets whited out.

UM:  The power of Mega Evolution was so strong that it smashed Glalie’s jaw. Its inability to eat very well leaves Glalie irritated.

Name Origins: Glacier/Goalie

Naturally, a glacier, a large mass of ice, is fitting for Glalie’s design. Also, Glalie’s design mimics that of an ice hockey goalie. 

Glalie has a base stat total of 480, with an 80 across all 6 stats.

Recommended Moveset:

Glalie holding Glalitite  Ability: Inner Focus EVs (Effort Values): 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed Jolly Nature  Double-Edge  Ice Shard  Earthquake  Spikes

Inner Focus allows Glalie to become immune to flinching moves before it mega evolves, so heavy threats like Kangaskhan Parental Bond Fake Out have no after effects.

Once Glalie mega evolves, it gains the Refrigerate ability, which makes all of it’s Normal type moves Ice type when used. This allows Glalie to have a bit of extra STAB pressure (Same Type Attack Bonus, +20% damage)

Glalie is generally meant to be a physical threat, but this is simply a recommended moveset, so please, feel free to send me your own set ups and tell me how they do in your format.

Pokémon Blog Series Idea

I think the Pokémon blog series will be done at random. I will be using a website that chooses a random Pokémon, so rather than follow the Pokédex order, we shall be doing it with what I would call, a interesting method.

Should I do a series of posts about each individual Pokémon? I could discuss their competitive uses in the current format, their uses in an adventure team in a main series game, and even discuss my opinions on their designs, movesets, etc. I will probably start this later next week, so keep your eyes peeled!

My favorite Pokémon, Empoleon! This gorgeous creature has guided me through the far reaches of Sinnoh, and he has also helped me in the wonderful game Pokkén Tournament DX.
