The way most autism literature describes "literal interpretation" is often not at all similar to how I experience it. Teenage me even thought I couldn't be autistic because I've always been able to learn metaphors easily.

In fact, I love wordplay of all kinds. Teenage me was fascinated to learn all the types of figurative language there are in poetry and literature.

But paperwork and questionnaires are hard, because there's so much they don't state clearly. Or they don't leave room for enough nuance.

Or the infamous (and infuriatingly stereotypical) "Would you rather go to a library or a party?" What sort of party? Where? Who's there? I work at a library. Am I currently at the library for work or pleasure? Does it have a good collection?

It's not common figures of speech that confound me. It's ambiguity, in situations that aren't supposed to be ambiguous.

Sorry to bust in, but saying being a trans woman is "possibly less lonely and isolating" than being a feminine man is so disconnected from reality lmao, even if you are a trans woman. Have you seen how politicians and the average population treat trans people, especially trans women? Here in mexico the average life expectancy of a poor trans woman is like 40 years old because they get murdered, there's been 32 cases of transfemicides this year here while they make less than 5% of the population, and a bunch of those were in the first months.

Addressing your other points, most trans people that conform do it to pass. You probably know it's harder for trans women to pass than for trans men, so most have to keep the feminine appearance and conform to even be taken seriously.

Abolishing gender won't eliminate the fact that people will transition and take cross sex hormones and get surgeries because the discomfort isn't with the clothes, it's with the body and many of us feel that way since we have a memory. I remember being like 7 and not recognizing myself as myself in the mirror — after almost 3 years on T I can finally do that, it's been a great thing to be able to look at myself and go "yeah that's me" and smile because of it. Dysphoria is speculated to be biological, literally. How is being dysphoric over your fucking bone structure despite passing and over your internal organs and your goddamn MICROBIOME is related to society.

I should mention the existence of phantom genitals. I myself have a phantom penis and know many other trans guys that do so, even those pre everything.

The dysphoria over misgendering it's because it's a reminder of what we don't align with, physically. It reminds you of those traits you're dysphoric about. When the dysphoria starts lowering because of transition, getting misgendered doesn't affect you as much, because those traits you're dysphoric about start to disappear.

Of course the dismantling of the patriarchy would free everyone of us so much, but trans people wouldn't disappear or stop transitioning. 💀

Honestly the fact that transgender ideology wants to turn people away from radical feminism is so weird to me. I think radical feminism is so radical in that it asks, "what is the root of dysphoria" and "how do we fix the root causes". Personally i understand how transitining can make someones life easier under patriarchy, this is at least what ive seen lurking detrans reddits. Being gender non conforming is hugely alienating and comes with experiences of violence often. But being transgender only comes with benefits so long as the individual is willing to conform to the myths of patriarchy. One might be able to conform to one role better than another, and conformity begets acceptance to a certain degree. But it does not free us from patriarchy, it merely frees the individual and only to the degree that they are willing to sacrifice thier selfhood to conform. Just kinda where im at with that tho, who knows really
